One of the BEST, intensely realistic, apocalyptic visions on television today! AMC definitely pushes the limits and crosses the line when it comes to edge-of-your-seat entertainment! And they do it with high class! The masterful make-up effects from Greg Nicotero and crew are stunningly spectacular and state-of-the-art, rivalling anything seen in big screen, theatrical releases! The actors certainly know their craft and bring the 'human experience' to its fullest measure in this outstanding, classic television achievement!!!

My review is biased due to my love for zombies, so I really doesn't matter. Although, if you care... This series has got to be one of my favorites. Like many of the suspenseful TV shows out there, expect cliffhangers at the end of almost every episode. Grab your favorite snacks and get ready to start a season 1 marathon when you get this. You may not have intended a marathon, but it'll happen.

If you haven't seen The walking Dead here's your chance to binge-watch one of the best shows of our time a great show would recommend. A lot of action and a lot of character development good show

I bought for my son he loves the Walking dead. Will end up getting the complete series for him.

I was riveted by this series. It was fantastic and the quality of every aspect about it made it quite cinematic. It never felt like a television show. Every zombie movie touches upon the difficulties of adjusting to life once society breaks down. However, in those zombie movies, they are only able to devote a few moments, out of the 90-120 minutes, to that enthralling subject. In this series they go through a painstaking detail about what it's like to lose your family, dealing with "dangerous" survivors, the logic of racism when there is no longer a real race left, sacrificing survivors for the betterment of the others, how to maintain a family and raise children in an apocolypse, figuring out the vulnerabilities and behavior of the zombies, and whether life is really even worth living in such a bleak world. The zombies are pretty much secondary since they just exist to create this stunning landscape to establish a top notch drama. This is as good as anything that could be out there. Even my wife, who would never willfully watch a "zombie" movie, was totally engrossed by this captivating drama. This is a "perfect ten" of a piece of entertainment!

I never watch this series and now I'm hooked. So look forward to the rest.

Very well done that comes close to the comics. Worth watching

This 2 disc set contains all six Season 1 episodes. The picture quality is excellent. What's even better is the abundance of extras. In the section called "Special Features," there are 11 featurettes, including a 30 minute "Making of" segment of the whole season, and an appoximately 5 minute "Inside" segment for each episode. There are also zombie make up tips and a panel discussion from Comic Con. There's another section called "Extra Footage" with six 3/12 minute segments featuring some of the actors and special effects. It was interesting to see the origin of the 3 characters who survived up to the current (9th) season. Even though the season only had 6 episodes, this set is worth it for the extras alone, plus I got a Black Friday deal for 3.99.

One of my favorite scenes in all of The Walking Dead is in season 1. That would be when Rick arrives in Atlanta and he rounds the corner on his horse and bam, there's all those "walkers" and his horse rears up and I just love intense moments like that. Aside from that, I love The Walking Dead. I bought these during the Black Friday sale (the only time I buy TV Seasons). If you've never watched the show, I recommend it, however I have not watched any of the current seasons (I know, I know). Great gift idea for any fan.

I'm a 61 year old woman. I love science fiction and horror. This is SO well written and SO well acted! I'm so surprised that I like it so much! Each new episode is like watching a mini movie! No expense was spared to put this out for television! I am SO very impressed! I hope more networks catch on and produce shows like this one is done! I like this series so much, I have already ordered the whole second season! I just couldn't wait for the entire series to finish up!

I have only purchased the first season, because the show has been steadily losing my attention as it progresses. The 4th season was pretty bad, but the 5th is starting to pick up. I have read the first 80 issues, so I do acknowledge the big difference at times. I bought the first season as more of a symbol of respect to the adaptation of one of the best comics out. This show is more of a drama with zombies every now and then; it is a tale of human survival, not a zombie Apocalypse.

I don't watch a lot of TV and prefer to watch tv shows on dvd after they have been released so that I can get more of the story at once instead of waiting each week for a new episode to air. I bought all of the Walking Dead seasons that are currently available for purchase and have finally started watching the beginning. I already knew it would be good, just haven't spent the time to sit and watch from the beginning.

Expecting just another zombie film when the first season. The Walking Dead could actually refer to the survivalists and their struggle to luve and find a cure . I have all 4 seasons, the interactions between Andrew Lincoln's small group and the less than altruistic bands they encounter make for interesting commentary on human nature. The zombies here are actual the background on which this morality play will play out. Worth adding to your collection.

This version of Season 1 comes with all 6 episodes including audio commentary. What makes this version so unique is the fact that it comes with the Black & White version of the pilot episode. Which makes you live out the terror like you would in an old school horror movie or like the graphic novel would intend. It is also packed with some very interesting extras, interviews, and bonus features. I highly recommend it!

My whole Family loves The Walking Dead. I couldn't resist getting the first four seasons for Christmas. I bought all of them on DVD, except one season that was on Blueray. The first season comes on two Discs and the quality is pretty good. Since it's only two discs, it's compressed some, but it's watchable. Already went through the first two seasons in anticipation for the show's return in Feb.
