All casings holding Blu-ray CD’s were broken so far no damage discs , they were like that after I opened the box they were in ( photo) you see

Absolutely beautiful HD conversion of the wire! Although the director intended for the show to be 4x3, the upgrade to 16x9 was carefully done and really turned out better than I thought it would. Highly recommended!

Great set for one of the best tv shows of all time. Having the physical copy and the digital copy icing on the cake.

The Wire requires patience, observation, attention, analysis, commitment, and more patience, refusing to let its audience simply absorb its story and encounter its characters without being haunted by tremendously difficult questions that demand thought, reflection and the kind of societal soul searching that's far from comfortable. But the rewards are great and the pursuit even greater. David Simon's fearless series didn't win major awards, earn big ratings or last as long as other classic shows, but it remains one of the best television dramas of all time, and easily one of the best original series HBO has ever produced. And its 20-disc Blu-ray release? Terrific. I would have liked to see more newly produced extras, but the supplemental package is solid as is, the set's DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track is strong, and the remastered widescreen video presentation is outstanding. Having the option of watching remastered 1.33:1 and 1.78:1 versions of the show would have been a godsend, but the results are so impressive that that little disappointment isn't a deal-breaker. The Wire: The Complete Series is a must-have box set and comes highly recommended.

This blu-ray set gives you the best TV show ever in the best picture quality available. I was able to clear space on my mantle as well. Worthy purchase.

Been looking everywhere for this series since it was taken off Netflix. I absolutely love this series. Definitely worth checking out.

If you’re into shows about drugs and gangs, this is the show to watch. Never understood why they cancelled this show.

One of the best shows, just had purchase this collection

This, along with the Sopranos, has to be one of the best written shows of all time. The writing is intelligent, and at no point does it dumb down its content. It treats its viewers as intelligent and observant people. The show is not so much a show about the characters as much as it is about the erosion of the city of Baltimore by gang violence, drug addiction, and political corruptness.. It does not shy away from the ugly side of addiction and gang violence. Rather than glorify it, it treats it subject matter in an objective and almost documentary way Rather, it merely presents it to the viewer and allows them to make up their own mind.

An impressive series! The end of the third season concludes a long narrative which seems to have begun long ago and ends without the usual triumph of good over bad, No one is spared; nor are any of the participants faultless. There's a certain cynicism which pervades "The Wire" and there are no blameless heroes. In many ways, it is not unlike "Spiral", the French series about cops, politicians, and crooks in Paris. Be prepared for coarse language and emotional and physical violence.
