Got this during a DOTD for $32 w/ GCU. I already own digitally on XB1 but honestly I wanted to play this on the go in handheld when fam is using TV. I love the extra goodies and it is def worth it at just under $40. Recent SW update helps patch with graphics too. Got HBO MAX free for 1 mo. too so that even more of a deal.

I managed to get this game on a sale at Bestbuy and I have never played it before. The extras that come in the box with this physical game cartridge are very cool: a thank you card from the developer, CD Project Red. Stickers of Gerault’s wolf emblem. A lore/character booklet, and a foldout map of the world. Very cool! The game itself runs well and sounds great in handheld mode or docked. It does take a hit in the graphics department, but I knew this going in. The majority of the data is on the game cartridge itself, and only 3.3 GB needs to be downloaded onto the Switch memory, which is absolutely incredible for a game this size. This was also a selling point for me. It offers cross play with Steam, so you can load your save files from your PC, and vice versa to Switch. This is one of the coolest features, and I wish more developers would do this. I bought The Witcher on Steam that same day after I found out about this capability. Graphically the PC version is incredible. (The Steam version is having a next-gen graphical update in the near future as well, free of charge!) I don’t have alot of time to get into open world games nowadays due to limited time, but the fact that I can play on the go is what made the Nintendo Switch version very appealing to me. I highly recommend!

This game is dope! I’ve had a couple sessions playing this and I’ve never played it on the other systems! It’s got a lot of story and I fast forwarded a lot of it but it really makes the game better when I have time! Go watch some review videos on it! It’s been out a while but just now on switch! It looks better in portable mode, not docked mode actually!

I have the PS4 version and had played through it before but didn’t really find it to be very entertaining. It felt like a chore to have to complete all those quests when I played it on the PS4. Playing it again on the Switch offered an entirely new perspective even though it’s the same game I played years ago. I’m enjoying this game so much more on the Switch and this time through I find myself looking forward to completing all the quests, including those optional secondary quests! There’s something about the Switch that makes this game better. I’m thinking maybe it’s the Switch’s ability to put the system to sleep and lets you come back to right where you left off without having to wait for the system to reload. Maybe that’s it. As for the Switch version, even though many previous reviewers compared it unfavorably to the other console versions, at least graphically, I still really can’t notice the difference. I mean you’d have to really put both versions in front of you in order to be able to tell. Even if you were to do so (you actually can by watching those comparison videos on youtube), the difference is not that significant to be worthy of the average person’s concern. This is still a very pretty game on the Switch. There are occasional crashes but that doesn’t happen too often. In fact, I remember this game crashed a few times on the PS4 too. I’m a bigger Witcher fan now that I played this game on the Switch. Just in time for the Witcher series debut on Netflix in a few more weeks.

There is absolutely nothing I can say about The Witcher 3 that hasn't already been discussed or admired since its initial release in 2015. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most critically acclaimed and praised games not just of this generation of gaming, but of all time. Hundreds of hours of gameplay; dozens and dozens of memorable and unique characters; the deep, fine-crafted gameplay; the choices you must make; the beautiful, living world. I could quite-literally go on and on. Essays and countless discussions on the complexities and sheer brilliance of CD Projekt Red's RPG have been written for years now. Now, in a shock to the entire gaming community, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can be played on the Nintendo Switch. It would be understandable to immediately think the port would be bad. A game of this magnitude should almost be impossible on the Switch. Not only has the entirety of the game been ported onto the Switch, but so has all of its features and DLC. Did I mention the game runs surprisingly well? It's unfathomable; an actual miracle of game development. To be able to play the entire, complete game on-the-go is a spectacle given to us that absolutely should be saluted and admired. Of course, this obviously comes at a price. Graphically, it's a significant downgrade compared to its other console counterparts, let alone the PC version. On the Switch, your max FPS will be 30, with the graphics running 720p at the maximum. My personal experience so far has been in handheld mode, and there are certainly some specific details that are noticeable if you're like me and have played the game elsewhere. For example, aside from the resolution and FPS downgrades, the world will be less populated with NPCs and some parts of the environment will load on-screen as you traverse through the world. These "issues," or whatever you prefer to call them, are very common in Switch ports, unfortunately, so perhaps these should be expected in a game of this caliber. And yet, the game still runs fantastic. Nothing in the gameplay is missing, and the game plays very smoothly regardless of the downgrades made. It's almost unbelievable, but instead it's the beautiful reality we get to have. I haven't even mentioned the cloud saves, the surprising amount of graphical options available, or the fact that the entire game is on the 32GB cartridge. No heavy downloads required, unlike mostly every other major port on the Switch. Simply put: The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch is a miracle; a beautiful, well-deserved one. If you own a Nintendo Switch, this is a masterpiece that should be a part of your library.

The witcher 3 itself is one of my favorite games of all time. I have over 300 hours logged on my PC version, but bought this version so I could play on the go as well as I wanted to support CD Projekt Red. The game on the switch seems very stable and locked around 30fps with minor dips, but nothing too noticeable. NPC counts seem to be around the same number as on other platforms. The game is slightly blurry because of the low resolution, but in handheld which I primarily play, it doesn't take you out of the game. It helps that the game is so immersive as well. Overall it was an incredible port for the Switch, and it's amazing they even got this thing to run at all, let alone how well it actually does.

The Witcher 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. I played through the whole thing on PS4 awhile back. I picked it up to see how it played on the Switch and I have been really pleasantly surprised. The game looks great, especially in handheld. While I can notice a few of the graphical blemishes right when I turn it on, I'm quickly absorbed into the world and don't even notice them anymore. Truly one of the best RPG's and really games in general available on the Switch

The game is running very good on switch, but for it to run well and have good graphics you would need to go to settings and fix that other then game is very good and I enjoyed it.

I was debating getting this game on PS4 or the Switch. I heard a lot about it but wasn’t sure if I would like it or not. It is a little difficult learning the controls and everything since it is a pretty intense RPG style game but it is worth the effort. The graphics on the Switch are great and playing it portable is a big bonus. The story is awesome. Highly recommend this game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is by far the best open world game I have ever played. I binged played it for about a month and I don't regret it. I'm already thinking about playing it for a second time to make new decisions and amend some of my first time "mistakes". The DLC's included in it make such a great addition. Overall, it's a good buy.

This is one of the greatest RPGs of today, and now it's available on the go. I've waited for this due to the length of the game (over 150 hours to see most of it) and I just didn't have that kind of time to sit on a couch and play, but play on my commute? So great for that. Please note, this is not a game for kids. Clearly it has an M rating but it really takes that to a high level, so really be to go with perhaps Skyrim if you'd looking for an RPG for a slightly younger gamer (even though that has M as well). The biggest concern from gamers who have played this on other systems often pertains to the graphics. I have played this on other systems, and while yes, the difference is vast, it's not something you'll likely think about, especially not while in handheld mode. I really thought it'd bother me but it doesn't at all because, at the end of the day, this is a great looking game and the performance doesn't suffer at all. Can't recommend picking this up enough and supporting CDPR (the people that made the game).

What an amazing game...I can’t put it down. People complain about the graphics on the switch compared to other systems but I still think they are pretty amazing and don’t regret that I didn’t get this on my PS4 instead as I love the portability. My only complaint is that is has crashed several times on me, so make sure yo7 save often.

CD Project Red needs to be given a lot of credit for this release. Not only were they able to get the game on Switch but was able to get it physically on stores with tons of extras and the WHOLE game on a 32 Gig Switch cart with all content and all DLC released. Other companies (Capcom/Rock Star) take note this is how you release a game to Switch owners. The Witcher 3 has hundreds of hours of gameplay and is one of the most demanding ports attempted on Switch. To achieve this handheld mode runs at 540p with a stable 20-30 FPS. Docking the Switch ups the resolution to 720p and increases the FPS a little. The fact that this game is playable portable on Switch is a miracle and should finally end the debate if a game can be ported to Switch.

Wanted to be able to play Witcher 3 but didn’t have a PC that could handle the graphics or a console. After a long time debating whether I should buy the Switch or not, I finally decided to go for it since it could run Witcher 3. I absolutely love the game. Hard core gamers need to know that obviously the graphics aren’t going to be as good as on a PC or on PS4/Xbox but that’s not the point. It’s absolutely great that the developers made this port for people who want to play but don’t necessarily have a good enough Pc or not that interested in buying a console for the TV. Being able to go from playing Witcher 3 in bed, then the couch, then on the TV for a bit, and then back in bed in handheld mode is absolutely brilliant. The graphics are great! I really get immersed into the world and story!
