After having used another brand’s percussive massage gun, I gave the Theragun Prime Plus a try. Therabody has been the most prominent brand in massage guns, and there’s a lot to like about the Theragun Prime Plus, but I also had some fundamental reservations about it. The device feels solid, with premium build quality, and their trademark handle allows for easier positioning for hard to reach parts of the body. However, it’s fairly heavy (1.8 pounds), so prolonged usage might get a little fatiguing. The package comes with 4 different massage heads -- a relatively soft and wide “Dampener”, a firmer and more compact “Standard Ball”, a “Wedge”, and a special “Heated Percussive” head that is wired to warm up. The included instructions give advice on how to use each one, and the Therabody app gives specific recommendations based on the routine that the user selects. There are also a few handy cards for the most common use case scenarios. The percussion is VERY strong, even at the lowest setting. I’m a fairly muscular guy, and it was often on the verge of uncomfortable and unpleasant, so I’m not sure how well a person with less developed musculature would tolerate it. It’s so strong that it would often bounce off my body awkwardly, typically if I was massaging my back. The strength of the percussion also translates to a lot of vibration felt in the hand holding the massager, which can become unpleasant if prolonged. The massager has 5 speed settings that can be toggled manually, but if you use the app, a chosen routine will automatically choose the speed for you. The heated massage head works as expected. I have mixed feelings about the Therabody app. Bluetooth connection between the massager and my phone was quick and easy, as was the app setup. On the plus side, there are many routines to choose from, and the app will control the massager automatically (in terms of percussion speed and duration). Each routine shows which head to use, and a video guide of which areas to massage in real time. In addition, there’s a gauge that responds to how much pressure you’re using, and it’ll tell you when you’re in the Optimal range -- but as discussed above, “optimal” was usually pretty uncomfortable. Another downside is that you’re required to create a Therabody account in order to use the app, so it’s yet another account that might be hacked some time in the future. Of course, the app isn’t absolutely necessary, because you can always just toggle the percussive speed using the Power button. The manual says that the button above the Power button is supposed to control the intensity (with 3 intensity levels signified by an LED light), but when I tried it, nothing seemed to happen. There were no other details on how to use the intensity button in the manual nor the app. Charging is via USB-C (a cable is included, but not a wall charging plug). A basic carrying case is included as well. Overall, I would recommend this massager only to more hardcore athletes and fitness buffs due to the almost excessively strong percussion. For everyone else, there are quite a few options out there, so it’s worth shopping around and testing the device before purchasing, if possible.

    A Game Changer for Recovery

As someone who loves staying active whether it’s hitting the gym, going for long hikes with the dog, or the occasional pickup game, I’ve always been on the lookout for tools that can enhance my recovery routine. The new Theragun Prime Plus has taken my post-workout recovery to the next level, especially in my mid 30s where it seems everything is sore the next day. First impressions matter, and the compact design of the Prime Plus is striking. It feels sleek and modern, yet it’s lightweight enough to toss into my gym bag without a second thought. The handle of the Prime Plus is very ergonomic in that you can hold it in several different ways in order to get those hard to reach places like your back and bind your legs. The carrying case is a nice touch; it not only keeps the device safe but also provides organized storage for all the attachments. I appreciate how easy it is to transport, whether I’m heading to the or throwing it in my hockey bag. The standout feature of the Prime Plus is the Heat Therapy setting. It comes equipped with three heat levels, allowing you to customize your experience based on your needs. I’ve found that starting with the level 2 heat setting really helps to loosen up my muscles before a workout. The warmth feels soothing, almost like a warm-up massage, and I can feel my muscles responding positively. I found this to be really helpful in soothing my hamstrings which are constantly tight after long runs and The heat penetrates deeply, which enhances the percussion therapy, promoting blood flow and speeding up recovery. Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything quite like it, and it beats going to a massage therapist. The versatility of the Prime Plus is impressive, thanks to its variety of attachments: Heat Percussive Attachment: This is my favorite. The combination of heat and percussion is a total game changer for sore muscles. Dampener Attachment: Perfect for sensitive areas. I love using this on my forearms and shoulders after a long day at my desk. Standard Ball Attachment: This is great for larger muscle groups. It feels powerful yet comfortable on my thighs and calves. Wedge Attachment: Ideal for targeting knots in my back. The angle makes it easy to apply pressure exactly where I need it. Having all these options means I can tailor my recovery experience, which is crucial as I notice my body reacting differently to workouts. The performance of the Prime Plus is impressive. The motorin this is very powerful, and has 5 speeds and like to use it on level 3, while watching TV or listening to a podcast, which makes it feel less like a chore and more like a treat. The battery life has also exceeded my expectations; it lasts through multiple sessions without needing a charge. That being said, like most tech companies now-a-days, they did not include a power brick with the USB-C charger so you need to get one or use a spare cell phone charger brick. In my opinion, the Theragun Prime Plus is a must-have for anyone over 30 who leads an active lifestyle. This device truly delivers, the combination of heat therapy and percussion can be significantly helpful in aiding in recovery, helping to alleviate soreness and stiffness. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast, a weekend warrior, or just someone trying to stay active, investing in this device can lead to a noticeable improvement in your recovery process. Pros and Cons Pros: Compact and portable design with a nice carrying case Innovative heat therapy feature with three adjustable levels Versatile attachments for different muscle groups and needs Powerful motor Long battery life Cons: Price may be a consideration for some Learning curve to find the best settings for your needs Power brick not included Overall, the Theragun Prime Plus is an incredible tool that has transformed my recovery routine. If you’re serious about your health and wellness, I highly recommend adding this device to your arsenal. It’s more than just a massage tool; it’s an investment in your active lifestyle.

Getting older is becoming more and more painful and I’m thankful to be living in 2024 vs like 1954 because of tools like this theragun that help make life a little easier. I’ve owned a few of these massagers in the past and have generally been underwhelmed for whatever reason so I was super excited to get this one that adds heat and cooling to the mix. Came nicely packed from our local carrier and set up is easy. Mine came fully charged ready for action which was a big bonus because I was anxious to try it. All in one is correct with a compact carrying case that holds the massager, four attachments and charging cable. Minimal size makes for easy storage or not an eye sore if you left it out in the open. I tried all attachments and all speeds and heat levels. The tool comes with the heated attachment but if you want the cold ones you can purchase additionally. Anyways I really enjoyed using it and it helped a lot with knitted muscles and aches and pains. The different attachments for different areas of the body are easy to swap out and work well and the case has a guide for which attachment should be used on what. Five speeds and heat settings is awesome however I was speed one was slightly less aggressive. It’s not too heavy but if you are reaching for an area like your lower back it can be a little hard to hold the gun and after a few minutes your hand might be numb from vibration. Overall this is an instant relief to pains but I notice going back to pain the following morning so I wouldn’t expect for this to be a real fix or long term solution to pains. I’m impressed with the build quality and the ease of use along with the multiple attachments included and instant relief to pains. Highly recommend

The theragun prime plus is the perfect massage gun. It came with 4 attachments: heated percussive, dampener, standard bell and the wedge. It also has a case that fits all of your attachments, the massage gun, the charger (included) and little cheat sheets to show you what attachment is used for different parts of the body. I highly recommend you download the app so you can try out the tutorials and to see the battery percentage. The tutorials were great because it shows you how to properly use the device. Once you link your device to the app and turn it on, it automatically runs once you play the tutorial. It starts off at the strongest vibration, but you can adjust it to your liking. The cheat sheet cards also show you the area of the body to use it, but it is still nice to see it demonstrated by an actual person. I love that it tells you how long you should use it with each body part so as not to over massage your muscles. I'm pretty sure that can cause some strain later if over used. I love the heated percussive because it feels good on your muscles. You can purchase other attachments and I def plan to purchase the cold one because I'm sure that can be useful for inflammation and swelling. It took about an hour to fully charge the gun and it lasted me over a week. The device feels very well made but not too heavy when using it. The cheat sheets are categorized by lower/upper body recovery, body warm-up and back pain relief. All the things necessary when working out or playing sports. My kids are sports and this is a great device to have on those long tournament days or after practice. I am a nurse who is on my feet for 12 hours a day and do a lot of lifting patients and pushing a computer on wheels so this helps relieve little kinks from standing most of the day. On my days off I work out on my bike or doing weekly lawn work and gardening. This is a blessing to have. I would def recommend this massage gun. I use it on my feet, legs, arms and back. I owned a massage gun a few years back and it did not last very long. It did not come with any other attachments and was very basic. The therabody gun is built to last and has changed my view on the massage gun experience. I would definitely recommend this.

We have an older model of the Theragun. When I saw this one is heated, I just had to try it! I suffer from migraines that are often caused by muscle knots in my sholders. The Theragun has been a game changer for me between professional massages. One thing I loved about this model right off the bat was the carying case. My older one just had a bag to toss it in. This had a nice zippable storage bag/box. In the bag, there is seperate areas that hold and organize all of the attachments. The lid also details out all of the attachments that come with the massager as well as attachments that you can get separately and what they are good for. This is a really nice touch! I started off with the heated attachment since this one is new to me. I was pleasantly suprised at how warm it really got! The warmth is also adjustable as it has 3 heat levels. The first thing I noticed was how quiet this massager is in comparison to our old one! Also there seems to be more ajustability in the different pressure levels. Level 1-3 seem much more comfortable than they were before while 4-5 still provide intense massaging. The massager also comes with a great app. The app allows you to connect to the massager via Bluetooth. You can ajust settings theough the app. It also gives specific patterns to use for specific alements or needs. All in all I am so glad we got this new Theragun!

I've always wondered about those Theragun devices I see at the gym. Do they really help with recovery? After using the new Theragun Prime Plus for a week, I can confidently say, yes, they do. The Theragun Prime Plus arrived well-packed with everything I needed. Inside the box, I found the massager itself, a convenient carry case, a USB-C charging cable, and a variety of attachments: one for heat therapy and three for regular percussion. As a first-time Theragun user, I appreciated the included instructions and quick reference cards, which provided helpful guidance on how to use the device effectively. After using it for a few days, I was impressed by its solid build quality. The weight and rubber coating make it feel like a durable piece of gym equipment, and I'm confident it can withstand some rough treatment. The triangle shape is comfortable to hold, regardless of the muscle I'm trying to massage. And changing attachments is a breeze – a simple twist is all it takes. The battery life is fantastic. I've easily gone a whole week without charging and still have plenty of battery left. Overall, this is a fantastic piece of equipment that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a more effective way to recover from workouts.

I've been using a Theragun for about 3-4 years now. I've hit that point of life where my muscles need activation and help with recovery. I was really intrigued when I saw that Theragun was adding a heat feature. Here's my experience with the Theragun Prime Plus after about two weeks of usage. First, the Theragun Prime Plus comes in a soft case with the Dampener, Standard Ball, Wedge and the new addition, Heated Percussive attachments. The case provides usage instructions for the attachments, along with some of the other attachments available to purchase. The new device is really light weight and incredibly quiet. You can use the Prime Plus while watching TV and not even hear it. You also receive a charger, which is USB-C and can download the Therabody app to recommended usage to help different muscles. I play softball weekly and I have the muscle tenderness that a mid 40's guy will get. I like to use the Standard Ball prior to playing to just loosen up the leg muscles and arm muscles. The Theragun is great activating the muscles to prevent some injuries. The major difference was using the heated attachment for recovery. At the time of writing this review, the Therabody app did not have recommended routines for the Heated Percussive attachment so I had to use my best discretion. It's hard to explain but the heat made my sore hamstring muscles and calves feel SO much better. The recovery feeling was really noticeable, even after a couple uses. I felt like I had flexibility and way less stiffness after using in the morning and right before bed. Normally I have a really stiff walk for a few hours after playing and honestly I didn't feel that stiffness. It was such a relief. I used level 2 heat cause level 3 was a little too hot for my liking. I will say that the heated attachment doesn't seem like something to use for extended sessions because it's not padded like the Dampener and Standard attachments. it might start to hurt if used for an extended individual session. Personally, I think this is the perfect Theragun product. It's going to give you the muscle activation and recovery that you would want. It's small enough to throw in a work or gym bag for use throughout the day. If you're at the point of life that muscle aches and stiffness bothers you, the Theragun Prime Plus receives my highest recommendation. Do yourself a favor and purchase it.

I have been a fan of percussion massagers for years and have relied on them ever since I was first introduced to them by my physical therapist. I have been using the same cheap one I purchased and as soon as I saw that Therabody was introducing the new Theragun Prime with heat therapy and an option for cold therapy I was ready to step my game up with their latest technology. Full disclosure, I have also been a customer and fan of Therabody’s other devices which incorporate some of this technology so I couldn’t wait to see and feel the difference compared to what had been using since they have been setting the bar in this industry for quite a while. I could already feel the quality and durability of the new Theragun Prime Plus right out of the box including the protective storage case and the four attachments it comes with. After a quick charge with the included USB-C charging cable, I was ready to give it a whirl after an intense work out. For reference, they have included reference cards with the package to help with identifying which attachment(s) work for what part of the body. The QR codes on the reference cards are convenient and take you directly to that specific routine in the Therabody app. While initially using the heated attachment, within seconds I could feel it beating up my sore spots and loosening up my stiff muscles. Since I was already accustomed to using some of the other familiar shaped ball attachments with my old percussion massager, I was excited to try out the included wedge scrapper since my therapist will sometimes use this on my back when it was really stiff. The wedge worked great up and down the muscles in my back to stretch them out as I continuously suffer from back pain from a prior injury and my muscles are always wound up from trying to compensate from that pain. The wedge also worked great on my leg and arm muscles to scrape and stretch out those muscles. The gun itself felt comfortable to hold by either handle but felt more balanced using the handle more towards the attachments. Using the buttons on the gun, you can select from five different speeds and three heat levels. You can sync the Theragun to the Therabody smartphone application for specific reference to recovery instructions however they had yet to add this new Prime Plus model during this review but anticipate it being released soon. In my opinion, the Theragun percussion massager is a must have device for anyone who is into fitness and muscle recovery or, like myself, suffer from constant muscle pain and soreness due to an injury. Having heat, and an option for cold therapy using an attachment not included with this package, is a game changer and makes a significant difference when trying to stretch out tight or sore muscles and would recommend the new Theragun Prime Plus to anyone in the market for a next level percussion massager.

This is nothing like other massage devices I’ve used in the past. The company describes this as percussive massage, as opposed to most massagers which involve vibration instead. With that in mind, I was not able to just pick this up and start using it intuitively. There’s definitely some training in order to know how to use it and how to benefit from its unique capabilities. Fortunately, Therabody has that covered. Between their website and the app, there’s a lot of training material, videos, and suggested routines targeting specific problems, intended benefits, and parts of the body. For example, as a runner, I occasionally deal with shin splints. The app has a routine specifically for that, and it was able to walk me through exactly how to use this to help my legs recover and allow me to perform without as much pain. When I train hard, and especially as I get older (I am now 47), a small level of pain has become the standard, and I assumed that it was unavoidable. This product, and the science behind it, is showing me that there are things I can do to mitigate and even eliminate those minor aches and pains associated with movement and training. Compared to other percussive massage devices, the Theragun Prime Plus adds a heating element to the massage gun. The heat feels nice, but I personally didn’t feel like I was getting much out of the heat relative to the massage itself. Because of the way the gun works, the head kind of floats above my skin most of the time it is in motion, so the heat doesn’t really get a chance to soak in. If I really wanted to experience heat, I might want to use a heating pad in addition to this device. My favorite part of my experience with this device is definitely the suggested routines built into the app. Not only are there videos and diagrams to suggest how to use the massager, but the app uses Bluetooth to control the device and timers on-screen to walk me through the routine. It’s almost like having a professional in the room taking me through a therapy routine. Physically and mechanically, this device is impressive. The battery is big enough to go through at least several days of individual use without having to recharge. I imagine a whole team of athletes could share one device during a practice (hygeine notwithstanding) without having it run out of juice. It feels very rugged and powerful, too. I don’t see it breaking or stalling even under heavy use. Overall, I am very pleased with this. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in recovering faster and having more energy for workouts or even daily stresses like tight muscles or soreness from sitting at a desk all day.

I've had a few different percussion massagers and each were good in their own right. Some better than others, some cheaper than others but, none were really quite "right" in terms of overall functionality. I had an older model Theragun and really liked it but it had shown its age and stopped working. I wound get getting a couple different brands since then but they weren't really on par in terms of feel/functionality like the Theragun did. When I had the chance to get this one, was a no brainer for me. Overall, this massager just feels great and well built. Other massagers I had either had really weal motors or felt really cheap and plastic-y. The weight on this one is a little heavier than I expected however it makes up for it when using. Almost works out like a counterbalance when you're using so that it's not bouncing all over the place. The grip can take a little getting used to as it's not the normal, pistol shaped grip like you see with most other percussion massagers. Not really a pro or con but more up to personal preference really. The carrying case is super nice since you can, and will, travel with this. Has slots for all the massage heads and even an infographic on what each of the heads are/should be used for. Along with the massager, there is a companion app you can use for more targeted use of the massager and for physical therapy uses. There's several programs you can use or create your own to suit your needs. Usually I just turn the massager on and hit my legs or arms and call it a day. But now I can get more of a targeted, recuperative massage instead of just addressing some muscle soreness. Honestly, once you have one of these there's really no going back. Even just for relief from normal aches and muscle soreness to physical therapy, it's great to have around the house and, more importantly, in your travel case.

I had high hopes for Theragun’s Prime Plus after using their Recovery Air Jetboots, which we love for recovery. But the Prime Plus is even better! The Jetboots were great for our legs after tough workouts or long runs, but I was looking for something to help ease my arms and torso. We do a mix of HIIT, core, strength, running, and yoga. On our lighter days, we might do some yoga, a walk, and a short core session. I noticed some soreness throughout the week, sometimes in my arms or lower back, so when I saw this Theragun, I couldn’t resist giving it a try. After a few days of using it, I can’t imagine not having it as part of my recovery routine. I had a small issue getting the Prime Plus connected to my iPhone. I tried a few times over the past week, even updating the app and retrying, but I kept getting an error. I was able to use it without the app, but I really love the designed sessions the app has for you. I ended up deleting the app from my phone and reinstalling it. I was happy to see my Jetboots were still in the app, and finally, I was able to successfully connect the Prime Plus to my iPhone. Like I said, the sessions in the app are amazing! You’re not getting the full potential of these Theragun products if you’re not using the app. They have sessions split up by different parts of the body you want to address, and even pre-workout and bedtime routines. I’ve already used a few of these sessions, and they’re all great. The standout feature for me here is the heated percussive adapter. You can choose the level of heat, which had me a bit worried it would be too hot. But don’t worry, even at max, it’s not too hot. You can definitely feel the warmth, and it helps, but it’s never uncomfortable. You’ll definitely get a better experience if it’s directly on your skin, but even over a thin layer you’ll feel the warmth. This with the triangle design really allows you to address some hard-to-reach spots and get everything loosened up. Honestly, I love the heated adapter so much, it’s made me want to try out the cold version too. This has been a great addition to our recovery tools. I love the triangle design, and the heated adapter. Paired with the app, and the other 3 adapters that are included, you should be able to make sure you’re getting a complete and quick recovery.

    Massage gun that really helps

Amazing massage therapy gun. It comes in a nice compact box and they include a nice carrying case that fits the gun itself, several attachments and charging cable. I was a little doubtful that it would work at first, since I have tried tons of devices for my chronic neck pain and nothing had worked before. I have a couple of pinched discs on the cervical area that make me have knots and stiff nerves/muscles on my neck and shoulders. This gun has really worked wonders. It comes with 4 attachments: a heated percussive one, a dampener, a standard ball and wedge. They also sell optional ones (cold, vibration, micro point and thumb). Each attachment has its own benefits and are meant for different treatments. I doubted the heated one would really heat up, but it really does get hot and helps! The manual and case tell you a few vague descriptions on what each attachment does and is for, however the full power of this gun is unlocked if you pair it with their Therabody app. Once connected you can select what type of therapy you want (ie. to recuperate after exercising, or if you have knots) and also where on your body you want to focus on. The app will tell you which attachment to use and how to use it and for how long, it even times you can connects to the gun. I mainly select it for "knots" and neck pain and it has really helped relieve those tight muscles and annoying knots. I use it through the day while working (bare in mind it can get a little noise, its a vibrating gun none the less). I'm a firm believer now. I plan on getting the cold attachment in the future, if the hot one did really get hot, it gives me hope that the cold one will get really cold. The battery lasts very long, I have used it for days and have not needed to charge it for a while, I usually charge it every 3 or 4 days overnight. I highly recommend this gun, if you suffer from chronic pain like me, or even if you work out a lot and need relief after a hard workout, this massage gun will not disappoint you!!!

I've been looking at a Theragun for a while now, but when I saw this new Theragun Prime Plus, I pulled the trigger on getting it. The unboxing experience was a good one, and the product was well packaged. After opening the product, noticed one thing, which is the charging port is USB-C, which is great (one fewer cable I will need to bring for vacation or business trips). It does NOT come with a "wall wart", so you'll need to provide your own USB-C charger. Not a problem, I've got tons of chargers. After charging the Theragun, I gave it a try on the IT-band regions, and OMG. It felt sooo good. Moving the Theragun up and down my outer legs really pointed out where the pain was coming from, so I focused on those areas. Then I moved on to femoral region (the thigh) and worked those for a few minutes. Then onto the calf. Bear in mind, this review is after one use, so I have not yet explored the other features of the Theragun Prime Plus, which include heat in addition to the percussive therapy. Just some product observations. The Theragun Prime Plus is comfortable in the hand. The material used on the outer case is relatively soft to the touch. It is not as heavy as I'd envisioned, so it's comfortable for longer (normal) use. For its size and weight, the Theragun Prime Plus delivers a surprising "punch" (in a good way) to the areas I was working on. I can without reservation recommend the Theragun Prime Plus.

Therabody hasn't felled me yet. The Pro and Pro Plus are very beneficial to the recovery of me and my friends in the weight lifting communnity. Lifting heavy and a neary daily cardiovascular workout regimen causes lots of not sometimes extreme muscle tightness and soarness. The massage gun has the tri-band handle grip to alot me to easily handle it while aplying deep massage pressure. Sometimes it gets so intense that I become too relaxed and that handle does help me to maintain grip and control. Inside the box, you get the Theragun Prime Plus Pro(That's a whole lot of name.), a flimsy carrying case.(the only thing I'm not too crazy about.), a small USB C charging cable, and of 4 of 6 possible attachment heads. All are beneficial in their own way to target specific muscles and muscle groups. There's oil in the bag for the heated massage sessions. Yes. Heated massages. The scraper to target those soar calves after a good leg workoout. You know a good leg workout because of the hangover that comes shortly after. If there's no pain, try harder next time. That's where the Prime Pro Plus come into play. The app allows you keep up with workoutand massage routines. The Prime Plus Pro is great massage gun, but to be honest, if you've already ot the Pro, I don't think an upgrade is necessary. But as it stands, it is aa very, very good massage gun.

A Very Solid Option For Deep Relief

This is a very solid massage gun if you want to get deep into your muscles. It hits hard, it hits deep, and has a lot of options for expansion. Its also at a pricepoint that is much more reasonable than the pro model. That said, if youre looking for something that is more relaxing, that’s more equivalent to a medium pressure, or if you are more sensitive to massages, I would not purchase this. The amplitude of the gun is 16mm, very high for most people. It is not going to be gentle. It is also not very light, you do need some strength to use it for longer periods of time. For me, this is great, but ultimately, if you are new to the massage gun space, therabody and other brands do somewhat suck at conveying what product is right for each person. That’s the only reason I have knocked it by a star. If you want something more relaxing, or lower in pressure, take a look at the sense and relief.

My wife is an MMT and uses the other brand at her clinic because they were originally more affordable. I wasn't impressed with them and bought this fully ready to return it with the same disappointment. This gun is amazing. I haven't stalled it yet, but I've also not intentionally tried to. It handles the pressure I need to reach deep into my IT band and it doesn't bog down The ergonomic handle allows for adapting so I can hit nearly every body part without assistance. The app makes it easy to setup routines that help track the session.

Love the heat feature - its the only attachment Ive used since purchasing! 5 speed options and 3 heat settings give a lot of variables. It is a bit on the heavy side, but as long as you arent holding for an extended time, its manageable .
