I typically work out 3-5 days a week either in my home gym with free weights or the occasional run. This device provides just the right amount of power and punch to beat my sore muscles into submission. Before this unit I would typically foam roll, tennis ball, icey hot, you name it. This may not completely replace those methods but packs a quick and easy punch to get the job done.

I struggle with pain on a daily basis. About 20 years ago, I had to have two ACL reconstruction completed on my left knee in a matter of a year and a half. The repair made it possible for me to have use of my leg again, but it also left me with some extensive scar tissue that ends up causing me pain every day. I’ve been through physical therapy and numerous doctors’ exams to find out that the pain is being caused by arthritis. The best thing doctors can do for me is prescribe various medications, but I have found that I actually get better results with massage therapy. The only problem is that masseuses are pricey and I need something that can work for me at home, too. The Theragun handheld massage device is a great option for my needs. I have actually tried another percussive massager so I knew that Theragun was going to work for me. The first thing I noticed was the shape of the Theragun. It has a unique triangular handle that works really well if you need to use the device solo. I found that I can hold onto it easily and be able to hit areas of my back that I can’t with other similar devices. The Theragun is a bit noisy, but because it helps my leg pain so much, I’m willing to overlook the noise. There are only two speeds -- Theragun signature speed and the sensitive area speed. I actually found the sensitive area speed to be great for most treatments and I only used the more intense speed when I was in particularly bad pain. Theragun includes four interchangeable heads. They are easy to install or remove from the device. I was really happy to find that the device is rechargeable. It unfortunately does not charge using a USB-style cable. That would be great because that would mean it would be one less cable I would need to carry with me when I travel. Out of the box, the device didn’t have much of a charge, but it recharged pretty quickly. I did download the app so that I had access to the full manual and tips on the best way to use the Theragun on different parts of the body. I really like the travel case that comes with the device. It is heavy-duty and has an easy to carry handle. Plus it’s large enough to store its charger and attachments in. I’ve been really happy with how well the massager has been working for me and what it means for my overall health.

The Theragun G3 is an amazing percussive massaging device. This is the first one that I have owned and I am really enjoying it for the short time that I have had it. First you should download the Theragun app to read about the device and how to use it. The app is pretty detailed and will tell you how to apply, for how long, which tip to use and will also give you some pro tips such as staying hydrated and how to reach certain parts of the body. The angled body of the Theragun G3 allows you to reach up to 90% of your body yourself, which is handy if you don’t have someone to help you. Included in the box is a hard shell foam fitted carrying case, charger, and three additional heads to use. Advertised running time is 60 minutes and so far I have used it about 15 times at about a minute each time. I am mainly targeting my right shoulder area. I was in a car accident back in January and after my physical therapy sessions ran out I was still in some occasional pain. The last few days of owing this I can say that my shoulder pain has mostly stayed at bay. Using the big head, I hold it over my shoulder area and sweep it back and fourth for about a minute and I am good to go for the day. There are two speeds that this thing can do and I use the lower 1750 rpm speed. I am extremely happy with this so far and it seems to be very well built and is fells sturdy. It is a little on the heavy side and the noise is pretty loud when I am using it on my upper shoulders, but that is also right next to my ear. I have used it on my feet as well and the noise isn’t as bad…obviously since the device is further from my ears. My wife appreciates it when I use this on her lower back and she has told me that it relieves a lot of pain for her as well. I am trying to get her to use it herself, but she insists that I do it. I haven’t gotten into the pre-work out options that you can do with this, but from what I have read so far, this can help with muscle fatigue after a workout.

Best Percussive Massage Device I Have Ever Used

The Theragun G3 Premium Handheld Percussive Massage Device is professional from its packaging to the product itself. After unboxing the Theragun G3, you can’t help but admire the handheld case that holds the massage heads, charging cable and the Theragun. When I tried the Theragun, I couldn’t believe how much better I felt. I also downloaded the Theragun App that gives instructions how to use it. I am very impressed by how easy and effective it is on muscles that sore, tired, ache and need recovery. • Downloading the Theragun App is important because it includes the manual and the 6 stages of how to use the percussive device on your body. Specifically the App details on the Lower back, Workouts, Feet, knots, Sciatica and Sleep. The Theragun is more than just a massage device, it pinpoints areas that need special attention. • There are 4 distinct heads for use on the Theragun and each is used for a different type of percussive therapy. 1st there is the Standard ball that can be used all over your body that is great for warming up before exercise. The other heads are more targeted. The 2nd head is the Thumb which handles more of the lower back. The 3rd head is a Dampener ball that helps out in areas that need a lighter touch. The 4th head is the Cone for areas of knots or for your feet. Download the Theragun App, explains how each head is used for treating different muscles. An example would be how much time you should spend on an area and provides an overall explanation of how the Theragun works. I really like the Ball head because I can use it just about on any muscles for 15 secs and feel great. • Percussive Therapy massage is different than Vibration massage devices. Percussive Therapy goes deep into the muscle tissue to provide relief. Vibration massage devices typically stay more on the surface of muscles. I have both the Theragun and a couple of Vibration massage products. After using both, I can tell you my opinion that the Theragun had a longer lasting effect on muscles for aching, warming up and overall feeling good. I have used the Vibration massage products for years and there is nothing wrong with them providing relief. But after using the Theragun the relief on my muscles felt deeper, lasted longer and my muscles seemed more pinpointed relaxed. This is the experience I had when using both types of massagers. • The Theragun runs at speeds of 40 percussive movements per second and another setting that runs at the speed of 29 percussive movements per second. The slower speed on the Theragun gives your muscles a great option for tissue that needs a more gentle percussive movement. The faster speed seems to perform better on larger muscle groups. The weight of the Theragun is only 2.7 lbs while applying up to 40 lbs of percussive force. It does feel a little heavy, but it is more like the sturdy construction of the Theragun is well built. • Charging the Theragun is simple. It is a Li-on rechargeable battery that when full will run about 60 mins! That is great news not having to plug in after each use. Plug it in and watch 6 LED lights flash telling you that it is ramping up the charge. Once fully completely filled, the LED lights (all 6 of them) will be solid. You will know when to charge the Theragun when all the lights start flashing. There is also an optional base for charging (NOT INCLUDED). • The handle on the Theragun is unique providing different ways to grip the product. It is a triangular handle that allows the user to get hard to reach places or provide a more comfortable grip. The handle is really allows you to use percussive therapy all over your body by yourself. You don’t have to have another person doing it for you. It is a convenience I simply can’t do with other massage devices. • I do go to a chiropractor on a regular basis. I am not suggesting the Theragun replace the chiropractor but instead I use it to compliment my time in between visits. For me, it makes my time at the chiropractor more effective. The Theragun G3 Premium Handheld Percussive Massage Device makes the muscle respond for healing, warming up and recovery. I was impressed by the sturdy construction, multi-grip handle, 2 speed option, powerful percussive contact, multi-head options and the App with the instruction manual. The case is super protective and carries all you need with the Theragun G3. I really enjoy my daily percussive massage for the aches and pain I have occurred over the years. This is one of the best products I have used to help my body recover from exercise and relax.

    Incredible Muscle Healing Power

I had the misfortune of falling flat on my back while carrying a table backwards up my front porch steps.I missed the top step & landed on the concrete porch with brick edge. I decided to give Theragun G3 a try since my doctor determined nothing was broken, but I needed Physical Therapy. When I first turned it on, without reading instructions, the agitation was stunning! I was sure I would not be able to withstand the powerful therapy. Fortunately, Theragun G3 includes application guidelines & a super helpful free phone app. The phone app is extremely helpful & shows it in use on different muscle groups. The amount of time to apply the Theragun is critical, as too much of a good thing can reduce its effectiveness. Once I read & viewed the instructions & videos, the Theragun felt awesome & very healing. I would describe my lower back pain as 75% gone after a week of Theragun treatment. My back pain reduction is nearly miraculous! I would never have believed this would be possible. Here is a summary list of my observations: THERAGUN POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES: 1- Indescribably well built. This is a precision machine, built to provide an intense workout. 2- Built to allow it to be held at any angle to apply healing anywhere on your body. 3- Unbelievably powerful! 4- Molded Carry Case Included with double zipper design. 5- Detailed battery life digital indicator. 6- Very quiet. 7- Beautiful appearance. 8- 2-Speed options; gentle & standard. 9- Long battery life. 10- Multiple easily changed probes are included & are stored with the charger in the carry case. POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS: 1- Add a built-in timer for 30 seconds & 2 minutes. Every muscle group needs these 2) time settings; this requires an external timer, such as built into a cell phone. A button / toggle could be integrated to the next generation of the G3 for a dual timer: 30 second & 2 minutes. CONCLUSION: The Theragun G3 hands down earns a 5-Star, Highest Recommendation. You will wonder how you ever lived without it!

I had surgery on my foot over a year ago and haven’t had normal sensation throughout my foot and leg since then. Within days of using the Theragun G3 my foot already feels drastically different. Upon first use, it really took some getting used to because it felt like it hurt, but it was like sensory overload. I’ve been using it for a few minutes multiple times each day on my foot and other various sore spots. It is surprising the difference it makes within a few seconds. I thought it was kind of odd that they advertised the handle, because it doesn’t look like much to it. Then I realized as I tried to reach other parts of my body, that the triangle allows it to be held in different angles. Unlike other massage guns, which only have a 90 degree handle, the G3 makes it easy to get harder to reach areas. Like the fact that I can do the major areas of my back on my own. The included directions are very limited, however, getting the Theragun phone app helps explain a lot more. There are pictures to show patterns for specific treatments and some tips, but for the most part it still leaves it up to the individual to find what works for them. Even the included heads have general uses, but comes down to what works best in your situation. The battery says it lasts up to 60 minutes per charge, but considering how you can get relief in seconds, it makes it seem like it lasts so much longer. The included case helps keep everything together, but is kind of large. It does a fair job of preventing the device from accidentally being turned on if you decide to pack it in your luggage. Just make sure nothing is directly poking where the power button is.

The Theragun G3 is one of the best tools to have in your warm up and recovery inventories! The machine itself is very solidly built and easy to use. There are two buttons; one for power, one for speed/intensity control; and one set of six LEDs to indicate the power level of the unit. The unit very comfortable to use and hold with multiple grip areas to provide optimum comfort while going for the hard to reach spots you would otherwise have to ask someone to get with a traditional massage. The pressure from the unit is incredibly comfortable, at no point did I feel like it was going to punch through a muscle or break anything, much less cause any discomfort! The Theragun app offers many different, step-by-step exercises to help relieve many pre and post workout issues as well as everyday issues too! It is very easy to setup and use, available on Android and iOS. This device is absolutely perfect for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and just those looking for a solid at-home alternative to regular massage treatments! The initial cost may seem high but, when compared to going to a sports massage therapist to relieve tightness and muscle pain with what is probably the same equipment, the Theragun G3 and the Theragun app is definitely worth the initial price!

The Theragun - G3 Premium Handheld Percussive Massage Device with Travel Case - Black brings the relief and treatment of massage and muscle therapy home in a convenient and effective tool. With the 2-speed percussive settings, this tool works through muscle pain, soreness, and knots with easy and without the expense and hassle of a therapist. I found the product to be completely user-friendly right out of the box. No complicated instructions or learning curve. Quick charging, this product was ready for use within 1 hour and still has a charge after 6 uses. The different percussion heads take a bit getting used to as they serve different purposed and are soft to hard depending on your need. It produces a nice warming sensation for areas and muscles which you have worked on providing relief of pain and soreness. PROS - Quality build and design - Easy to use for any level of experience - Nice carrying case keeps it protected and accessories accounted for - Multiple percussion heads allow targeted therapy - Dual-speed option CONS - None at this time

My Muscles Never Knew What Was Missing....Until...

Wow, my muscles never knew what was missing until this equipment arrived! First off, the packaging of this therapeutic massager came first class within a neatly aesthetically- designed box which leads to a beautiful case for carrying purposes. To the main point, the robust enclosed device delivers a massage that one can only get from a trained massage therapist! I am an avid walker, who walks at a fast pace, which oftentimes cause my shins to hurt, as such I welcome this device for quick recovery purposes for my shins and entire body. Moreover, there are additional attachments that serve the purpose for targeted areas of the body that may need massaging. If you are in the market for a reliable device that really deliver robust results after intense-work outs, then this may very well be the device for you as I highly recommend without any reservations!

I’ve suffered from sciatica and back pain for years. When it acts up I use an inversion table and I also use the tennis ball method. The inversion table has been a life saver and the tennis ball helped when it was so bad I would drop to my knees just walking across the room. As good as they both have been, I wish I had this thing YEARS ago! Though I’m not suffering right now from sciatic pain, I will still have a tightness in my lower back and leg. Using the Theragun G3 today for the first time felt amazing and loosened them both up. I used it on my back, neck, thighs, feet and hands and it felt like I had a deep tissue massage. This device may be to powerful though for some even on the lowest setting, elderly or kids. The device itself feels very solid and well made. It comes with four different tips to target different pressure points and areas of the body. It has two speeds but I personally felt like the low setting was perfect for all my needs. In terms of noise I don’t think this device is bad at all, I can be sensitive to loud noise and this device doesn’t bother me at all. I used it for about 10 to 15 minutes and it dropped down one light for the battery. And that leads me to my only gripe, no user replaceable battery like the pro version. I understand you have to save some features for the top of the line version though! The Theragun G3 is a 5 star product and then some! If you suffer from sciatica, lower back pain, neck pain, or tight muscles this thing is amazing and worth every penny!

this massager really hits the spot

Honestly I have never had a massager be so effective before.I have tried lots of different massagers in the past; the handhelds, matts, neck, and back devices. Most of the other massagers I bought were the vibrating or Shiatsu kinds, and while they did offer some type of relief, it was never quite enough. So typically I would always have my girlfriend rub the areas of my back that hurt the worst. I have 3 bulging discs in my back, and still do more things that I shouldn't (concerning my condition). So when my back pain gets pretty bad, it can turn into throbbing pain in my lower back, as well as sciatica all the way down to my toes. Like I said regular massagers offer some relief, but really not enough to make a difference. The Theragun actually moves past just the outer layer of skin and muscle, and reaches further into the different layers of muscles. What a difference, this massager not only works so well, but is designed in a fashion that makes it possible for me to use this on my own back, removing this tedious task from my girlfriend. Which by the way, she did a pretty good job, but always had a difficult time trying to press hard enough to really work out some of the problem areas. This massagers hits all those hard to reach problems, and does it fast. There is not much for literature in the box, but there is however a pretty extensive set of directions in the Theragun App. As this is a percussive massager, I would not recommend just jumping into using this without reading some of the tips and directions. The app has specific instructions for pretty much all kinds of problem areas, and great tips on how to alleviate the associated pains. It is important to understand that using this massager incorrectly can cause some issues, if you are doing something that hurts, than it's probably a safe bet to say you are probably doing it wrong. Most of the massages require a very light touch with just a couple minutes of massaging. However the device does come with a few different massager heads to accommodate different problems, or preferences. It just happens that I got sick over the weekend, and had that whole body aching feeling, where I didn't even want to move. Then I remembered the Theragun, and ended up using it on pretty much every muscle I had, even the bottom of my feet. It felt much better, and got me up and moving around a bit. There aren't too many things that I can say actually alter my life after getting, but this is definitely one of them. My only complaints about this model is that it is a little bit noisy, but I understand that doing what it does and being quiet are probably not possible. The other is that I would have liked a third level for the intensity settings, there is a low and high, but I would have liked an even lower setting, for a more mellow experience. But other than that, this device is a life savor! I literally can't live without now!

So I had seen the older model in the gym I use to go to and never asked the owner about it until I left. Was unsure if it was more of a “I lift” kind of thing of actually worked. I’m here to say it works. Comes with two speeds and multiple attachments. Download the app if you want some guidance on how to use on certain body parts. Battery holds life for a couple of hours but you won’t have to use it for hours at a time so it’ll stay charged for days before you have to put it on the charger. Overall great buy and worth the money spent.

Great gun. I would give this 5 but the noise is high. Not unbearable, but I was very surprised at the loudness. I was assuming it would be quieter. With the new one out, this one is definitely louder. But with that said, I love this. The different tips are great for an all around experience. I go to the masseur and even acupuncture. Theragun is definitely something that helps. It's even a great tool to use to warm up before lifting/working out. Theraguns are supposed to be more efficient percussive guns, and I believe they are.

Feel good benefits but battery is trash, lasts about 30 to 35 mins. And it heats up before it gets to 40 mins then it keeps shutting off. It isn't too loud and it's easy to hold, kinda heavy though. The 599 version is very loud however so I returned and got the 399 version.

    plantar facitious? gone

i have plantar factitious and muscle tone (really tight muscles), so I had to try this once I read about it. I did download the app, which is mostly instructions on how to use and where to use the machine. There are a 4 attachments (big and little ball, cone, something I have not figured out yet), it has 2 speeds (i use faster for larger muscles like thighs, and lower speed for hands and smaller muscles). Mine did come with a little charge so I got to use it out of the box. I tried it on my legs first, little sensitive. The arch of my foot was ticklish, just put a sock on and it was better. I let the Theragun charge for an hour and went back to my legs. There was some pretty instant relief. To note, the handle was designed to be held in 3 positions so take advantage of that in hard to reach places like a hamstring. lower body was sore but manageable. I did not sleep well that night, night sweats etc. The next day I could barely walk. Took some Advil. Night 2, slept like a rock. As usual stepped out of bed ready for the pain...nothing! I took the dog out, got coffee and walked with no pain at all. It was so amazing. Day 4, I can feel a little pain back in my heel so I think do this every few days? DRINK WATER! just like you would a massage, you drink water, so drink water after this also. i read some of the instructions on the website (activate muscles prior to workout, provide muscular post recovery (don't even know what that means, and relieve pain and stiffness) go with what you feel like. DO NOT press too hard at first or stay too long in an area. I think the websites says 30 sec on an area and that seems about right. drink water Cons: non replaceable battery. not sure how many charges this gets very noisy (ok never owned one before maybe they are all noisy) handle gets warm if you use it for more than a few minutes at a time. so..if you work out or have some medical issues like me. do it, get one and feel better.

The Theragun G3 is an incredible device, that works wonders on your muscles. I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile now, and the G3 doesn’t disappoint. Everything about the G3 screams high quality. From the parts and craftsmanship, to the heavy duty carrying case that it comes in. This device is sure to last a long time. The G3 comes in a heavy duty carrying case that holds the main unit, the extra attachments, and the charger. This makes for a great way to stow away, or take with you. The G3 comes with 4 different attachments, each of them have their own use for muscle relaxation. The Dampener is for general use, bony and tender areas. The standard ball is for everyday use, especially for workouts. The thumb which is a smaller and more stiff tip, that acts as a thumb, is made for lower back and trigger points. Lastly is the cone, this is for pinpoint focused muscle treatment, like the wrist and/ feet. I have tried all the attachments, and I can confirm that they all work as intended. I am no expert at massage therapy, and to be totally honest I had no idea where to, or how to even use the G3. This is where the handy and very well designed app comes in. The Theragun app not only has the full manual built in, but it has detailed instructions on how to use the G3 for every part of your body. This really puts things into perspective, while ensuring you that you’re using it properly. The G3 was designed with both using it on yourself, as well as using it on others. The G3 was made with a multi-grip angle, this allows you to reach parts of your body that otherwise would be inaccessible. There are 3 different areas to grip and hold the device, and the rubber finish makes it easy to hold so it doesn’t slip out of your hand when using it. The first time I tried the G3 on myself I was really amazed at how well it works, it really glides right over your skin with little to no effort. I will say that the unit is pretty loud on the highest setting, but that’s easily forgivable after you experience how good it feels. Lastly, the G3 comes equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery, which is stated to last 60 minutes on a full charge. The uint has a series of 6 lights on the side of it, which lights up indicating how much battery you have left. I think for the amount of power that the G3 offers, the battery life is right on point. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Theragun G3. The G3 comes equipped with everything one could ask for in a portable massager, plus some. It did wonders on my sore muscles and helped me to work out many knots that I had built up. The Theragun app, acts as a great interactive instruction manual, that teaches you everything you need to know about the device. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, weather to loosen up for workout, or for simply massaging.

I would recommend this to a friend
