It's able to read license plates close enough at lower speeds, same with street signs. We've had it for two years now with no issues. The user guide that has to be downloaded doesn't cover at all one of the most important configuration screens - very odd. The PC View software streams the videos smoothly IF you allow it 5 minutes or so to load GPS coordinates. All in all a good solid dashcam and value.
