The initial setup process was unfortunately interrupted, which has completely blocked the Tile from connecting to my phone. Despite contacting customer support, they have stated that the device cannot be reset to factory settings. They claim the only solution is to access the app to transfer ownership. However, the Tile does not even show up within the app, and, frankly, the customer support experience has been extremely unhelpful and frustrating. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise caution when considering purchasing this product.

This is my second Tile product, as I purchased one from BestBuy ten years ago. This specific tile is called Tile Mate, and it’s different from the original. It is slightly thicker, sturdier, and has additional tracking features, such as an “SOS” alert you can discreetly send to your emergency contacts. Having said that, this item is still just as easy as the original Tile to setup. Simply download the Tile App to your phone, create an account using your email of choice, and follow the app’s prompts to complete the process. Press the button once on the Tile Mate to allow your phone’s Bluetooth to find it and to test the sound notification feature on the Tile; it will play a cute melody until you hit “done” on the app. Setup takes less than 5 minutes to do. NOTE: According to the Tile app, it needs the Location permission to be set to “ALWAYS” instead of only using your phone’s location “while the app is in use.” I don’t remember that being a necessity the first time around, and for some reason, it annoys me that I need to have my Location settings set to “ALWAYS” in order for the Tile to work. DESIGN: The Tile Mate is water resistant, which is convenient if attached to a purse, suitcase, car keys, or something exposed to rain, snow or just water in general. The battery on the Tile Mate is estimated to last about three years. The maximum Bluetooth range for tracking your devices with this product is around 250 feet. The Tile Mate is quite small and flat, making it great for a wallet or small pocket of a purse. It also is designed to easily slide onto a key ring. PROS: A major pro with Tile Mate is that, if using to locate your phone, it will allow you to find your phone even if you keep it silenced (as I regularly do). The Tile Mate will still prompt a loud (but pleasant) sound to occur. All you have to do is double tap a button on the Tile itself. As long as it’s within Bluetooth range, Tile Mate will find your device quickly. The song it plays to help you locate your lost item is very loud, which is helpful. Another pro is that the Tile Mate tracks your items quickly. I tested the Tile by using it to find my phone in the house, as I’m good for putting the phone down somewhere and forgetting where I left it. The Tile assisted me in locating the device without incident. I also like how the app keeps track and timestamps the last known location of your lost items. CONS: A big con of the Tile Mate is that once the battery dies, it cannot replaced. This product was not designed to have a reusable or replaceable battery. It’s not a device where you can recharge the battery or swap it out. You will have to discard the Tile, which is a real shame. Another con is that in order to use the Tile Mate’s SOS function, you have to download a separate app. Additionally, you’ll have to send out “invite codes” to the people you want to receive you SOS notifications in order to make your contact “group” on the app, which is ridiculous. Not only should all of this be done within the same app as opposed to two separate apps, I also should be able to manually add the contacts of my choosing without having to send invitations in order to get their permission to be on my SOS list. It doesn’t make sense to me that they want you to notify your contacts before you can add them, and I’m not sure if Tile requires them to download the app too in order for them to receive the SOS notification. I ultimately deleted the SOS app from my phone because it seemed more trouble than it was worth. CONCLUSION: The Tile Mate isn’t perfect and should be improved. It has its limitations, especially when it comes to the SOS feature and lack of replaceable battery; however, this device is still an effective way to find your lost property. It is a competitive price point, it is a reliable product, and it’s simple to setup and pair with your phone. I do recommend the Tile Mate to people like me that are forgetful or careless when it comes to their belongings. What is most important is that the tracker works, especially when the time comes to use it. I do not think you’ll be disappointed with the Tile Mate’s performance.

Purchased the Tile Mate 2024 because included is the Standard 24 hour location history. However, the Tile app only shows the most recent location of the device. I chatted Tile support and they confirmed it stating that if I want the 24 hour location history I would have to purchase the Premium plan. Deceptive marketing. I'll be returning this.

    Easy to Use Tracking Device

The Tile by Life360 - Tile Mate Bluetooth Tracker is an easy to use, convenient tracking device. Following are my observations after setting it up and using it: - The Tile Mate is a very small device, it is only 1.47" x 1.47" x .25" and has one corner cut out with a loop that allows you to connect it to a key chain, pet collar, backpack, etc. - The battery life is approximately 3 years and is non-replaceable. - It was easy to set up. Just scan the QR code on the package to download the App and then follow directions in the App to connect the Tile to your phone via Bluetooth, then follow the steps in the App to set it up and select the options you want to use. - In addition to tracking whatever you connect the Tile to from your cell phone, you can also use the Tile device to activate a ringtone on your phone if it is lost, even if it is on vibrate. This is a nice feature, as I find it easy to misplace my phone in my house, seat cushions, etc. - If you lose the item attached to your Tile, you just click the Find button in the App and it will cause the Tile to ring so you can find it. Or, you can also look at the Location history to find the last location and the time it was there. It will register a location when it is within Bluetooth range of anyone with the Tile App. This is an anonymous network, so none of the users know when their Tile App has detected the Tile device, but the Tile device owner can see the location the Tile device was at when tracked by that App. The history will show you the location of the device for the past 30 days. - There is Unlimited Sharing, so you can share your Tile with another user who will then also be able to see it in the Tile App, ring it or find it on a map. This is very convenient if you connect the item to a dog collar or child's backpack, as you can share with your spouse or significant other and both be able to track the device. - You can change the ringtones, volume and name of what you are tracking with the device, in the App. - You can also transfer the device to someone else if you want them to control the device from their App. - You can also use your Smart Home device to connect to the Tile and make it easier to find your device while at home. This is a very convenient way to track anything you wish to connect the Tile Mate device to. I will use it on my key ring most of the time, but I also plan to use it in luggage when I travel, or in my bike bag when biking. I'm sure I will come up with many more uses for it in the future. I would recommend this to anyone who needs help keeping track of something.

Great Tool to Help Find Misplaced Items

The Tile by Life360 - Life360 Tile Mate (2024) Bluetooth Tracker is a handy little device that helps find keys or other items and also can be used to find your phone. It works very straightforward and is compatible with both iOS and Android. The device is small and compact with very little weight to it, so it can easily be attached to a key chain or other item that is often misplaced or lost. Can be carried in a purse or pocket easily and discretely. Connecting it to a smart phone via Bluetooth was very easy and once synched the ring tone can be changed to whatever is most pleasant. There were different options to choose from and the tunes are pleasant to listen to (no loud beeps or alarm). The app is download to the smart phone and with a push of a button, the tile sounds the chosen tune to alert to its whereabouts. Conversely, once connected to the smart phone, the button on the tile can be pushed and a tone will be admitted from the smart phone alerting to its location. This device would be a great tool to locate keys that are misplaced and allows one to find other missing objects as well.

I wanted to use a Bluetooth tracker to toss in my tech pouch which gets moved from different bags I use. My wife tells me I have more bags than she does. My tech pouch contains several items that I use on daily basis and sometimes I have to search several bags to find out where I left it. Using the Tile App I can ring the Tile and have an audible alert allowing me to locate it my house. Conversely, I am able to ring my phone when it is buried somewhere in the couch or left in the other room. But I rarely lose track of my phone, but it got me thinking about my wife and how she is always misplacing her phone AND her keys. Like my many bags, she has many jackets and coats and often forgets which pocket she left her keys in. A location ping from her (or my) phone will ring the right jacket. When she can't find her phone, a ping from the Tile can find her phone.... but if she can't find her keys either, then I'll just end up calling her phone. I have also tried putting it in my child's school bag and "tracked" her bags location at her school. Seeing how I can get a location of the Tile in her bag at school tells me that there are other Tile users in that area. It is by no means a surefire way to keep tabs on your children's where abouts, but it's better than nothing. I am not thrilled with the fact that there are some good features that are trapped behind a subscription paywall, but I can make use of the basic functions for my needs. I also would have liked to have seen a replaceable battery, but with the 3yr battery life, about a little under $7/yr for the added piece of mind of making the unenjoyable task of looking for your stuff a bit easier, I'll continue to use something like this tracker. I'm sure there will be improved Tiles in that time anyway. I have already purchased some more Tiles for some of my more absent minded friends and family members as Christmas stocking stuffers.

Since I already have a Tile by Life350 and have had the app for years, setting up my new Tile was really easy. I literally just press a button on the app that says add Tile, I press the button on the Tile itself, make sure my Bluetooth is on and that’s it. I was paired. I think these Tiles are perfect to put on keychains and also go great inside purses and backpacks and luggage. Not so much for a Wallet because it creates an extra bulk for my liking, but you can certainly do so if one so chooses. One extra feature is that if you lose your phone, you can just press and hold the button on the Tile for like two seconds and it’ll start making your phone Play a jingle, that’s making it much easier to locate. Life360 claims the battery on this Tile lasts 1095 days. I haven’t had mine that long, but that’s pretty impressive even if it doesn’t last that long. It has a 350ft Bluetooth range meaning you can’t be super far from the item you’re trying to locate. It’s water resistant and works with iPhones and Androids.

I lose things. I lose lots of things. I have needed these for my entire life. The tilemate is the perfect size tracking device for so many things that I lose. With its key ring attachment, the tilemate is perfect for your keys, but there are so many other great uses. You can just toss it in your car to help yourself find where you parked. It's great for purses. It can even be taped to a remote control, but. They actually make a smaller version that has an adhesive back then it can be used on a remote control. Anyway, how these work is basically you can either set up voice commands or just use the tile app to locate devices. You can also have the devices make a noise, to making it easier to find them. If you subscribe to tiles premium service, they will warranty your devices, and if they can't be found, they will replace them. The greatest thing about these is their ability to also find your phone. If I have my phone, I can use it to find any of my tile devices. However, if I have one of my tile devices in hand, I can just press the button twice, and my phone will start to ring. It is such a great system that is so convenient. My life is so much less frustrating now!

The Tile Mate with Life360 is a fantastic way to keep track of the important stuff in your life. Setting it up with the Tile app is a snap. Just download the app, press your Tile Mate, and go through the registration process. You’ll assign the item you want to track to your Tile Mate. With a 350-foot Bluetooth range, you can easily find whatever it is you’re keeping track of. Another cool thing about Tile Mate is that they have up to three years of battery life, so they’re basically maintenance-free. The downside is they don’t have replaceable batteries, so once your battery dies, your Tile Mate is done, which is a bummer but you need to know that going in. This Tile Mate has Life360 capabilities, which sets it apart from others. The integration is seamless, and it works in both the Life360 app and the Tile app. Plus, the Tile Mate works with both Apple iOS and Android OS, so no matter what operating system you use, you can take advantage of the Tile Mate and its features. In conclusion, if you want to keep track of the important stuff in your life, like keys, backpacks, etc., look no further than the Tile Mate.

We really like the tile by life 360. I currently have one on my gate opener that lives in my car. This way I can always track my car. This worked exceptionally well a couple weeks ago when I had my car in the shop. I could log on to the app at anytime and see where my car was. This gave me so much peace of mind to know that my car was exactly where they told me it would be. I also like that it is very small. And the tile is very very light weight. I honestly have not come across any negatives so far with the tile 360 in my time with it. I highly recommend the tile if you are looking for a product to use to keep track of your items. I'm looked at getting a couple more for other vehicles and animals? Not sure what yet? The black color looks very sleek and blends in very well with the interior of my car so you can't even tell it is there. I'd be interested to see what other things people attach these to? Dogs? Cats? Keys? Purse? Small Child? Bigger child? Man child? The possibilities are endless

This is an ok Bluetooth tracker. But even thru tile it looks like they have better options. One of the only things that this seems to be a good fit for is that it is small and great to put on keys. One future that I do like with this (but this future is also with their other devices as well), but I like that when paired with your phone, you can reverse look up your phone. If you can't find your keys, you can use your phone to locate your keys (as long as you are within range) and vice versa, if you can't find your phone but have your keys, you can double tap, and it will ping your phone. But those are dependent on being in range. Why 2 stars though for me. My biggest issue with this is that once the battery dies, you cannot replace or charge it. The app also does not seem to even show the battery life on this. The directions that are small that came with my device were for a different tile type. They have other models that you can at least replace the battery. I personally would love to just see one that has a rechargeable battery and a way to replace if that goes bad. Have a USB-C port to charge it. They also do not provide any accessories like a key ring. It works great, and how it is supposed to, but I think they took a step back by not having a way to replace the battery or not have a rechargeable battery. Had this had a way to charge or replace I would give it 4-5 stars. But it is great if you lose phone or keys. If you end up losing both though, you are out of luck then.

I use other trackers at the moment and decided to give Tile a try. I honestly, couldn't find what made Tile different, but after some use I did notice some differences. I found a longer delay with Tile and almost no history to see where the Tile may have been before, or some trail. I was told by Tile this is an option, extra feature, extra cost. I found that insane since it was a charge to do what other trackers already do by default. In one instant it showed my keys were in one location, but that was not accurate and maybe 1 hour delayed. I realize it is dependent on having a cellular phone nearby, but at least one was always nearby. I did like the find phone feature and that seemed to work well. I did not like that this was basically a disposable protect as the battery cannot be changed or charged. I do not know it it will really last 3 years, but only time will tell. I am not sure why a replaceable battery is not a standard. Anyhow, basically, this Tile worked, but not as well as other trackers. I also couldn't help but see it a constant source of revenue even after the purchase for Tile. Was not a fan of that ! So many products seem to have a upcharge for 'extras' even after you purchased the product. And also, find this extra seems to be missing or hidden. I had to contact Tile after I purchased the product to ask questions and learn about the 'extras'.

Opened the box, took out the small (about 1.5”) square and attached it to my keyring. Not sure exactly what it was supposed to do, looked for directions in and/or on the box. Then I realized, like most things these days, no directions included, go download the app. I went to the App Store (I have an Apple phone) and when searching for Tile there were two apps. Not sure which one to choose, I looked at the Box saw the company logo and decided that must be the app. Kind of. The “Life360: Find Friends & Family” works with the tile but is not actually the tile app. The one needed is “Tile – Find lost keys & phone”. The second app quickly recognized my tile and then I was in business. I attached the tile to my keys and pressed the button. Sure enough my phone emitted a nice little noise. Woo Hoo, I now have a way to find my wayward cell phone. I had to go to a different office so I left my keys in the usual office I use and the app told me the exact address of my keys. I generally know where my keys are, I always put them in the same spot, but I do find myself looking for my phone often. I’m ecstatic this little tile will cause the phone to sing so I can find it. The find friends and family app looks like it will be quite helpful for my family and friends to know where I am. I travel often between states. Typically, I text updates so they know where I am. I’m going to introduce them to this app. I checked the company’s website and there are a few versions of the tile. I plan to add the tile sticker. It’s going on the TV remote which I spend almost as much time looking for as I used to spend looking for my phone.
