Excellent Tactical Shooter!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game features a very large map to explore with lots of objectives and side missions to complete. Graphics are superb with lots of attention to detail and the sound is equally great. Controls are smooth but do require a little practice for handling vehicles since each one has their own characteristics. This is an open-world game but certain missions need to be completed first before moving on much like the Far Cry series. The game can be played in any style you choose but stealth tactics work best when initially taking on the enemy to reduce their numbers and so that no calls for help can be sent out. Patience and observation are your best friends! I have only played the game in single player mode and the teammate's AI is reasonably good on their own but they work best when you give them commands. A great addition to the Ghost Recon series!

Better than Division and maybe future Division 2.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Division even the upcoming second The Division (should be modeled after this game) by NOT being online required in a open world setting. I mention this in a Wildlands review because Ubisoft doesn't do that bad a job with Tom Clancy games, it is just when online required is involved. Now to the Wildlands review: First thing I’ll say about the actual gameplay, is that I love it. I’ve always liked third person games, but tend to prefer first person aiming. Third person is great for running around, and being able to see where you are in relation to obstacles and hazards. It can be difficult sometimes to determine this in first person games. First person aiming is better because it’s more like lining up a real sight picture, right down the sights. Wildlands does exactly this. I really would’ve preferred to have the ability to jump, rather than climb only, but once you get used to that limitation, it’s not as noticeable. I found driving vehicles to be very fun, and each different vehicle feels, different. Different acceleration, different speeds, different handling… different. Driving also changes if you’ve got a blown tire, or two, or three, or four. With updates, the helicopters have become fun to fly now too. The original set up was odd and quirky to figure out. The updated handling is exactly what I’ve come to expect from years of playing games with helicopters in them. Much more intuitive and manageable. And once you figure out how to avoid the SAM sites, it’s no problem. Mostly. You WILL get shot down from time to time. Motorcycles are great fun, but be aware that if you are going full speed and hit something, you will get thrown off the bike and you will die. While the vehicles overall feel very real, you can drive a car off of a hundred foot cliff and land with no damage to yourself, and very little to the car. A minor gripe, really. There are fast travel points, but with as much fun as it is to navigate the landscape, I found myself rarely using them. I may be in the minority with this, but for me, sometimes the journey is as fun as the destination. The missions have a variety of different goals. From stealth infiltration and kidnapping to outright assault and mayhem. There are some missions that are repeated (interrogating enemies for intel, as an example) but I don’t feel like it’s any worse than any other typical game. I found all of the activities to be fun, fitting to the story and setting, and never once felt bored while doing them, even if it was repeatedly. Part of the reason I think I never got bored, is that you can do missions in a ‘do what you want, when you want, how you want’ kind of way. Just because you are kidnapping an enemy Lieutenant for the second or third time, doesn’t mean you can’t do it in a different way. Take a truck, stuff him in the trunk of a car, or evac in a helicopter. It’s up to you. That kind of flexibility is absolutely a blast. Planning the mission is just as big of a part as execution of the mission. Recon the area and make your own plan on how you think you can best accomplish your goal. Or how you think you’ll enjoy it more. Snipe people from a distance, distract the enemies with a flare while you sneak in, find a back way in to the compound taking out lights and sticking to the shadows, or charge right in guns-a-blazing. Disable the alarms and fire as few shots as necessary or let them call in back up to get a proper firefight going. If you aren’t having fun playing this, it’s your own fault, and you just aren’t trying. The game is not short, but I definitely found myself wanting more, when it was over. Really more of a sign of how much I enjoyed the game rather than feeling like I wasn’t getting a full experience. While there isn’t a “New Game +” mode (starting over will reset your accomplishments, skills, and gear) you can replay any completed missions, at any time. When I wanted to replay the game, I just replayed the missions one after the other, and since there is no ‘correct’ order to completing the different regions the first time through, you can do them in whatever order you please the second or third time as well. The main reasons FarCry games are fun for me, are the large maps and sandbox type ‘go anywhere, do anything’ style of gameplay, along with the ability to approach missions in a manner of your choosing. There is a goal, but how you get there, which direction you approach from, etc. are up to you. The main reasons that Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 was a decent TC shooters was the character and weapon customizing ability and fun gameplay. I really don’t care much at all about online PvP gameplay. The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege did very little for me, plus story means more to me than online gaming does. With Wildlands not only do I get full online co-op campaign, but you can have multiple people join the game. Unlike the FarCry online gameplay, there isn’t a limit to the distance between players. You can be on completely different sides of the map, fast travel independently of one another, and even complete different goals at the same time. Just another way that you can assess the situation and attack the game how you please. Wildlands took everything I love about R6:V2 and FC games and combined them. If someone had asked me what I would want from a Ghost Recon game, this is it. Aside from a few minor gripes, this game is about as perfect of a game as I could’ve expected it to be. With weekly challenges you get a little more content here and there, and extra rewards just for playing the game. Even aside from rewards for weekly challenges, I foresee myself playing this game for a very long time to come. I hope that any future installments emulate and add to the gameplay and style of this spectacular title, and don’t take steps backward.

WOW
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game blew me away. The map is enormous. Getting from one side to the other takes a while. It’s aboit 12-13KM wide. Takes about 2-3 minutes on a helicopter to get across. The gameplay is outstanding!!

My first Ghost Recon game for PS4!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was talked into to getting this game for PS4, even thought I am a PC gamer. It is fun to play both in cooperative and solo modes and the map is wide open. The only draw back, as a PC first-person gamer, is that the camera view is always third person. You cannot toggle from third to first person, which made it difficult for me to aim quickly, but you eventually get used to it. Great gameplay and story line.

lots of fun in coop, solid game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lack of great cover system, doesn't play as strong as future soldier but strong drop in/out coop with up to 3 other friends and ability to also play solo with 3 AI on a variety of difficulties is great. cool story and huge open-world map. could be better yes, but also great fun.with many ways to accomplish missions and approach them.

Can be monotonous but still a lot of fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this game a little wary to be honest. I read reviews and for every good review I feel like I also saw one that was not so great or even saying the game is not worth the money. I get new games at 20% off for being a Gamers Club member (which I recommend to everyone, its a no brainer) so I definitely think it is worth the money. I play online with my cousin a lot with is A LOT of fun, but as much fun as it is, I don't feel near the same feeling when I play singleplayer. You have 3 other AI helping you, but you pretty much have to tell them what to do. Don't get me wrong, the map is HUGE and so much fun with a variety of landscape but the missions can get a little similar, but if you play online at all then definitely buy, still worth it for just single player in my opinion but I would want to sell it after to get some money back if that was all I did.

Great before patch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have given this a 5 but the recent patch seems to have introduced more bugs than it fixed. Overall it's still a last to play, especially with a friend or two. It's a very deep and expansive map so it will keep you busy for many hours.

Awesome squad shooter
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My current favorite game. I play with three friends online and it’s a lot of fun. It has the biggest map of any game I’ve ever played. Like, on par with Zelda Windwaker. The missions can get a bit repetitive but it’s difficult enough to keep you coming back when you fail. Character customization is on point as well. Love this game.

Best Online Co-op Story Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this game recently with my friends and we were fairly skeptical at first because we previously purchased Tom Clancy's The Division and that was only fun to play for a while. So we naturally thought this Tom Clancy game would be more of the same. It is not. The map in Ghost Recon is HUGE with lots of stuff to do. This is like a hybrid of Grand Theft Auto and Rainbow Six. Ghost Recon has a pretty phenomenal story to go along with it. Highly recommend this game. It is rated M so I wouldn't recommend it for a younger child to play. 10/10 for me though. Great game! Even better if you have friends to play it with!

Underrated Sandbox
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this when it was on sale for $39.99. Had a $20 gift card, and figured it was worth the bargain. Once I got home and began playing it, I realized I hadn't given the game a fair shake. The map is ridiculously huge! This is like the Grand Theft Auto of military games. There are a lot of side missions and once you finish the first area on the map, you are able to see just how enormous the game is. Set in Bolivia, this game delivers very well with the gameplay and tactics. It has been an enjoyable adventure and one i would recommend to anyone interested in 3rd person shooters.

Much better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has a huge map! Once you get past the introduction tutorial the world opens up and you can go anywhere. I like the way that the map is empty of icons at the beginning and you can unlock these icons to show on the map if you find the intel that is scattered everywhere. There are many side missions that you can do without doing any of the main mission. There are 21 provinces that are set in different difficulties. Plus there tons of unlockables to find. You have to find weapons to upgrade. Also there are many upgrades/skills to unlock by doing side missions. Every mission can be completed in multitude of ways... you can sneak in, go in guns a blazing, snipe to eliminate, stealth take downs, and even drive the enemy vehicle right into the middle of the heavily fortified base. The driving/flying mechanics are not great but once you get the hang of it you can uncover the map as you please. You can play up to 4 person co-op or single play with 3 AI. I play single player and love it. I have this game on PS4 and PC with over 100 hours of gameplay. I am not ready to move on yet.

Ghosts in the Wild
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This installment of the long running Ghost Recon series takes on an almost GTA open world style to it - with missions and collectibles all over the HUGE map. It's at it's best in Co-Op. Super fun with even just one buddy online taking out enemy bases and drug lords hideouts. Vehicles include cars, motorcycles, helicopters, airplanes. Almost Battlefield like amounts of vehicles to grab and add to the fun. Can be played solo with A.I. partners as well. Recommended

Good game, light on story, good amount of DLC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is pretty decent; and if you can get it on sale all the better. You can play 2-4 player co-op, but the game is playable solo (... just make the AI squadmates wait in a far off direction). There is a good amount of action, and the map is fairly big; good thing there is a fast travel option once you've discovered an area. There is not a deep story; especially if you decide to do more of the open world activities, and gear hunt. Once you beat the main game, getting a season pass can grant you a nice amount of DLC. I'd say research what exactly you would be getting with the DLC for yourself, but I think there is a good amount of it. Though I stopped playing after I got both endings, I did try some of the first DLC offering and it started me off in a whole new different setting/game/character/story. I think there is a whole lot more, and they are also I believe supporting the game for a second year; though research for yourself- online reviews, youtube. I did put this down after I beat the main game, and picked back up on 2 other games I wanted to play again, but I'd recommend this game to someone as a sale purchase for sure.

Just get it because it is awesome.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game. Huge map and plenty of main missions. The side missions are repetitive but are necessary to advance. Co-op is great, as is playing with AI as long as you lead them right and use sync shot. PVP will be added soon to make it even better. I hated the Division but love this game. No bullet sponges but you die quick as well depending on the difficulty. Sniping and stealth are very good.

Incredible game with huge map and fun co-op
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always love Tom Clancy games and Ghost Recon Wildlands does not disappoint. The gameplay is incredible and the tactical/stealth side of the game works perfectly. Also, the co-op is nicely done and the size of the map means there are a ton of places to see and missions to accomplish. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes shooters and open world games.

Great tactical game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great fps game with a requirement more for tactics than I expected. Expect a few glitches once in a while, but the massive map, graphics, and gameplay make up for it. Overall, I would recommend it if you're willing to put a good amount of hours into it, as it takes a while if you want to collect all the supplies/weapons/accessories and do all the side missions.
