If you like the first one then this shouldn't disappoint. The gameplay, weapons, graphics, sound, etc from the first all carry over into this one. So will say its much of the same, but if it works then go with it right? For the price you'll be glad you gave it a try.

This game has improved on Vegas 1 in some ways and has worsened in others. The story line is a decent ending to the first Vegas, although I felt the maps strayed too far from Vegas and had you in a lot of warehouses and what-not. The gameplay is excellent as usual. The new sprint feature is a welcome addition in the story and terrorist hunts and finally gives you the ability to get away from a grenade toss. But it does make online play seem a little faster and more like COD4 which isn't as enjoyable as the first Vegas was. I've heard from many Vegas fans who felt the online play quality went down with Vegas 2; it's a little too much like something a COD4 or Halo fan would like and not a Rainbow Six fan. I do like the new maps more than the last. They seem to have more directions to go and some are very big. New weapons are fun to try but I still use the same guns I used before. You can adjust the number of respawns in online matches regardless of what others say. The ranking isn't much, still easy to rank up and just as easy to boost too. ACES are easy to get through and pretty repetitive. The first week I played this online it seemed like 80% of the rooms were filled with people boosting. I think breaching charges were left out which is just ridiculous. The shotguns are nuts at close range but not so good as they used to be from a distance. There is one map that's useful for a sniper rifle and it's a map borrowed from Vegas 1. One other positive note is that you can adjust your room online to allow for people to join games in progress. So no more of joining a room only to find out that you have to wait 20 minutes to play. Overall it's a very good game that didn't change too much and changed a little for the better and a little for worse. I'd recommend it.

    Solid FPS

I had been waiting for this game ever since I finished the first Rainbow Six: Vegas. When it finally came out I grabbed a copy and enthusiastically dove right in. The story was not what I was expecting but fit the game well. Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 has you taking it to the bad guys less in the glitz and glamour of the casinos and more in the warehouses, construction sites, and public facilities. One thing that has received some knocks but I think is a great addition is the improved Persistent Elite Creation (PEC). Instead of only being able to rank up on line, the game also rewards you for playing the single player campaign and the terrorist hunt. I like this for two reasons: first, it allows players to get some better equipment before playing in online multiplayer and second, it allows players who do not play games online to get something out of all the time the put in on single player. The second part is particularly important because the game starts you off with very limited options as far as equipment and the only way to unlock better equipment is through advancement in PEC. The graphics are solid. There isn't anything groundbreaking here, but the game looks great nonetheless. The multiplayer is decent. It is not the best multiplayer, but it holds its own and is fun to play. Modes such as Team Leader and Conquest are fun. The maps however are simply not as good as some of the maps that were featured in Rainbow Six: Vegas. That has not stopped me from playing it though. This is not the best game out there right now, but it does stick with a proven formula that was established with Rainbow Six: Vegas and is a great tactical first person shooter. If you liked the first one, as I did, you will like this one.

Basically an expansion pack, a very good one tho.

I'm glad this game is $30 now because it's really just a glorified expansion pack to Vegas 1. You get a new campaign based in the same timeline and some new maps and guns. Problem is, you lose most of the maps from Vegas 1, which were better than the ones in this one in my opinion. That said, this is still the same addicting gameplay found in the first one and it excels on it's own, but doesn't have the same impact as Vegas 1. The customization and character/gun graphics are still some of the best in Xbox FPS's but the environment graphics, while not bad, lack detail in many areas. Personally I like Vegas 2 online better than Vegas 1 simply because the ridiculous amount of patches made to the first one ruined it, making it feel like Rainbow Six: Halo edition. That's a real shame though because the only things that make Vegas 2 online any better is improved gun graphics, more guns, and a few good maps, just not as many as Vegas 1.

I bought this game a week after it came out, I thought it was going to be awsome, and it was. The story mode is probably the best story mode I have ever played, the ability to command your team, and even have one of your friends play with you makes the story a lot of fun. The customization was amazing as well, I was very suprised and pleased with the wide variety of things you can do to customize your character, for both online and story mode. New to this Vegas was the ability to increase your rank in, story, terrorist hunt, online play, and co-op story mode. I enjoyed this feature a lot because I have a large family so someone is always wanting to play, so this way I can increase my rank and not have to worry about my siblings crying to play. But I was kind of disapointed with the online play. Its not so much the fact that if you get shot once your most likely gonna die, it's the maps, I don't know what it is but most of the maps aren't that great, I think that for the online play they should have put some maps on there that don't really focus on Vegas, because as you fight in the same area like Vegas, but you just play in a different area of Vegas, you start to notice a lot of similarities between the levels and how the game is played out.

Well first, i liked this game a lot. But once i got to level 20 for all three skills, it got really boring. People who have this game might say, "what about the other ranks?". Well its like what i said about the three skills, once you get to the highest rank theres not really a reason to replay it. Although, the reason i liked this game was not because of the campaign but because of the terrorist hunt. There are a lot of maps that dont involve downloading and they are all very detailed. Thats what your going to spend most of your time on probably unless you enjoy the campaign. I really didn't like the campaign that much because it was very short and even on the hardest difficulty i thought it was easy. I know in the pros section i put "nice range of difficultys" and its true, the hard difficulty is to hard for my brother so he plays on a lower difficulty(makes sense right?). Finally, I put online play in cons because i think it is very boring. Its just terrorist hunt but instead of playing with one friend your playing against a couple. Some people might like that so don't take my word for it if you enjoy mulitplayer, try it for yourself. Overall its a pretty good game and i would recommend it to people who like FPS and shooting. By the way I'm only fourteen so sorry if this review isn't good.

Vegas 2 a big hit!... for about a month...

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a fun game to play, don't get me wrong. You have the freedom to command your two squad members in almost any way you can think of. The minigames, like terrorist hunt, are a lot of fun when you are done with the story mode, Ubisoft does a great job of creating realism and AI inteligence, taking cover is convenient and easy to understand, and you can customize your character like no other game. So why give this review only 3 stars? First off, the online play sucks. Much like Turok, you can only do so much. Many games are just a lot of people working together to rank up. So you're sitting there for hours on end doing nothing but losing matches while ranking up a little faster, but ranking up takes for ever and a day. The game play is only fun for so long, and you end up falling back on Call of Duty 4 or Grand Theft Auto 4.

I have played both vegas games and both are fun to play. Vegas 2 has great gameplay and the ACES system is tons of fun to use and makes you feel rewarded. Also, I enjoyed the story and liked how it tied in with the first vegas. The guns are fun to use too, as well as all the tactics to killing the enemy. Online is great too, I enjoyed the map villa the most. One thing that stunk was i loved being in the casinos from the first game and vegas 2 barely had any casino scenes, but the graphics in HD look great. Finally, I bought this game when it came out now that its down to a great price for a great game anyone who does not have it yet should pick up a copy

Great game, not much done to the graphics/sound side compared to RB6 Vegas, but AI has improved slightly. The multiplayer matchmaking still has a few bugs such as not being able to see other people's ping. The single player storyline is some what confusing at times, but the action is great. Weapons are pretty much the same with a few additions. All in all, it's the sequel with new maps and new multiplayer game types.

I own the first Rainbow Six Vegas on PC and i loved it, so when i bought this for 360, i had very high expectations set for it, and let me tell you, this game met and beat all of them. Heres the low down of it all... Graphics: Very good, although i find that on my PC version, it seems to be nicer, although my PC is quite powerful and plays those graphics well, i was expecting a bit more out of the 360 version, especialy since it plays in high def. Although, it wont dissapoint anyone, the graphics are very good. Gameplay: This is a very enteraining game from start to finish. Despite a generic plot (Terrorists, spec ops and mercenaries) it will keep you hooked. I must say that this is the first console FPS that i actually wanted to finish. Controls: This sort of goes along with gameplay, but ill put here that im talking about the bare bone controls. The controls for this, once you master them, are very smooth and not clumsy like some other games, for example, Army of Two has fairly clumsy controls and it makes you feel like your character is running drunk. But this game, the controls are very nicely bolted down and will leave you with a sense of pure control over everything. Online: The online is very well set up here, although not quite as streamlined as the Halo 3 system, it will not slow you down, its very easy to find games and it rarely lags out, as far as i can tell, it may depend on your connection. The only problem i have is, i dont know how to talk over the mic during a game, and it is not clearly marked in the instructions, so ill be asking someone about that. Overall, a very well set up game, it will leave you satisfied. Unlike Army Of Two, i actually feel like this game is worth the money... speaking of which, Army of Two IS NOT worth paying, its far too short, only 5 missions, including the tutorial. msholly

we've all played #1 i assume. and had a great time with it. Well playing this i think the ranking system is increadable but too many ranks. I like the offline creation, but why take out so many loved maps from #1? such as the library or casino vault????? those maps were golden with fun for sharpshooter. well i like the terrorist hunt but not the fact that the shotguns still kill you from like 80 yards away. whats with that? all and all its a fun game and i recommend you wait until the price drops 10 dollars because xbox games are way to much.

If you like first person shooters this game is definatly for you, Awsome graphics, extraordanary gameplay. Definatly a game to have. Long story modes, better than first one, you have to actually play the game to unlock certain weapons and upgrades, you get experience points for your kills and what you do to unlock those weapons. BUY BUY BUY BUY! you wont be dissapointed!

Despite what some reviewers are saying about this game, this game is a great follow up to the first RB6 vegas. Yes, at times it is a little slow and glitchy but not for more than a few seconds and then your back in the action. And this game has plenty. Improved AI make it harder to move from map to map but it improves gameplay and your overall skill. You can also rank up and get achievements while in story mode which is a plus, and also you can customize your charachter in story mode, as well as online.
