I am a Tomb Raider junkie lol since the first playstation days of Lara Croft she is the best rpg I ever played. Long live lara the ps4 version of it is interactive and the game is like a movie awesome cool.

A perfect 5 out of 5 stars! A must have for any fan of the original PS game. Well executed gameplay that introduces new skills while remaining true to the original games.

After taking a year long break from playing video games due to some other life issues, I got back into playing at the end of 2015. I got this game because I was a big fan of the original series and was very curious on how this one would play out. I was very happy. The controls, the graphics, the story, everything was great. I enjoyed it tremendously. They have taken the character of Lara Croft and in my opinion, given her real life. I felt more connected and more empathy for her than in the other games in the original series. I also found myself chuckling at some of the lines in the game, for example anyone that has played the past games knows that climbing is a HUGE part of the old Tomb Raider series, in one part Lara states "Great...more climbing", that made me chuckle a bit. Also I like how in this game they give her more than just guns, but also an axe which she uses for climbing and after upgrading for fighting which was awesome! I also liked how the game has a system where you upgrade her skills and weapons. One weapon which I underrated when I saw the box was the bow and arrow. All I thought when I saw the box was, "a bow and arrow? Naw I want her using guns!" but I will say that the bow and arrow turned out to be one of my favorite weapons and I used it continuously! I'm keeping this one in my library and can't wait for the Rise of the Tomb Raider to come out for PS4 in 2016. Until then I'll probably play this through again at a harder setting and enjoy it all over again!

This definitive edition has sightly improved visuals over the regular version and plays just the same otherwise. Great story , action and unique puzzles make this a very fun and entertaining game for the PS4. Also, cannot beat the price now.

First off, I want to state that I played a good portion of this game originally on the Xbox 360, so I can state with certainty that this definitive edition really does look a whole lot better than the original! Lara's hair looks much more realistic, many textures have been updated, and the boost in resolution is a lot nicer on the eyes. In fact, I think it was on of the best looking games on PS4 when it released, despite being a last gen game! But graphical and artistic prowess aren't everything; Tomb Raider 2013 also admirably performs in the gameplay department! It plays somewhat like a combination of the mechanics of the popular Uncharted mixed with the exploratory elements of a Metroid title, and it much better off for it. Shooting feels fantastic, you constantly unlock new traversal abilities you can use to dominate the map, the upgrade system is unobtrusive yet rewarding, and overall playing the game is a real treat. Also, exploring the titular tombs and solving their puzzles is very engaging and well thought out. As a disclaimer, I cannot say how this compares to the older Tomb Raider games, as I haven't played them. Sorry! Finally, the last element of a game, and for some the most important, is the story line and worldbuilding elements within the game itself, and I'm sorry to say, that overall it simply isn't that interesting. The supporting cast of the game feels generic and doesn't get fleshed out very much, and something feels very off about the way Lara goes from 0 to 60 as a full on killing machine. The overall plot is their though, and while rather generic, serves it's purpose well enough, not to spoil too much. I'm about to wrap up this review here, but some of you may think I'm forgetting something, and you'd be right. I haven't said a word about this game's online multiplayer component, and there's a good reason for that. I haven't touched it! I feel the single player campaign provided a satisfactory enough experience, although the multiplayer is their for those who are interested in getting the most bang for their buck. Finally, in regards to the online, the original game had a lot of DLC which is thankfully all included on disk in this release, but is all costumes or weapons for the online, if that interests you. However, many games of it's time feature very tacked on multiplayer in order to appeal to the masses, so if you intend to try out the online component, proceed with caution! In conclusion, Tomb Raider 2013, the Definitive Edition, is a supreme graphical achievement, with great shooting, exploring and upgrading mechanics. What it does not have is a compelling story line. That pretty much sums up the whole game in a nutshell, although I've neglected to mention how long it is.which is probably anywhere from 10 hours to those who just want to play through once and 20 hours for those who want all the collectibles. Overall, I think it is one of the best gaming experiences on the market for the PS4 (and Xbox One for that matter) on the market, and is well worth a look for any fans of shooting games with exploratory elements, such as fans of Uncharted, Gears of War, Metroid Prime, etc. Go for it!

Before purchasing this game, I read and watched online reviews. After playing, it sure felt familiar. I'm a big fan of the uncharted series and of course the last of us. This game is very similar in the same way. It's a good mixture of action and puzzle solving. Graphics is pretty amazing, stepping up from my ps3. The QuickTime action can be frustrating at times but overall a very accessible and great game and does the original tomb raider justice. With the $20 price, I would totally recommend it.

This was the sleeper surprise under the xmas tree. It was on sale, so I got it. Partially for nostalgia. Thought the kids might play it occasionally, but its turned out to be the nearly unanimous favorite for best xmas game. Great graphics. Good story. Good combination of puzzles and combat.

Great addition if you are a fan of Tomb Raider. The graphics and details are crisp and clear. The story line will keep you going. The only down fall is that you spend so much time exploring every section of the level making sure you didn't miss a hidden object.

I liked the game so much - I'm playing it a second time on the hardest setting. The graphics, story and action is great. There's nothing better than picking people off with the bow. This is a must have!

Tomb Raider is still one of the best of its genre, but if you’re wondering whether this version is an improved experience beyond extra visual bell and whistles, the answer is: No, not that much. Realistic mud and sweat is not the next-gen revolution but, happily Tomb Raider doesn’t need extra special effects to make it worth playing. It’s still an excellent action game, up with Uncharted at the peak of the genre.

Laura Croft is back for the first time in this new reboot. I was not a huge fan of the earlier Tomb Raider series back on PS1. The old series was great for its time but never kept me on edge like this one. This game allows the player to roam and interact with many things. So much you can do, and of course the storyline is well written along with the gameplay. Definitely one of the greatest games of all time.

this game is a reboot of the tomb raider classic. It has a great story line and the 3rd person action is intense. mind boggling puzzles to solve and the graphics are outstanding. stealth gameplay. one of the best games to play for the ps4

Graphical upgrades are normally subtle when games are ported from previous consoles to next-gen consoles. That isn't the case here. This game looks amazing! It's evident the developers put in a lot of work to make this standout. This may sound kind of weird (lol) but the hair physics on Lara are crazy good. I spent just as much time using the Share feature on the PS4 to capture pics/videos as I did playing the game! I was just in awe of how good everything looked. But everyone (should) knows that graphics aren't the only thing that makes a gaming experience great (although it helps); the action and story as a whole is very compelling and will keep you on edge throughout. As someone who enjoyed the original Tomb Raiders during the glory days of PS1, I love the direction the series is going with this current iteration. I can't wait to see where they take it next!

I had not previously played the Tomb Raider series, but this reboot of the series was very enjoyable. If you played and enjoyed the Uncharted series, then this game is right up your alley. Good story, good gameplay. Very little negative. I am definitely going to start keeping up with this series if it maintains this level of quality.

The game is a shining example of a great story line with excellent controls and sound. It does take a little while to get Laura up to her full potential but it's worth every bit of the struggle. The puzzles aren't too hard but can be tricky at times. Locating the treasures and items needed to increase Laura's abilities can be difficult at first but do become easier once she has the necessary maps which will require backtracking that is made easy with fast-travel points. I've played both the PS4 and XBOX ONE versions and give a slight edge to the PS4 which has slightly crisper graphics but either version will not disappoint. An excellent game that's worthy of any Tomb Raider or action-adventure fan!

amazing start for a brand new trilogy for the new tomb Raider. Fantastic level design amazing graphics amazing presentation fantastic visceral combat not too short. and kind of like just right in terms of the actual time to complete the game only complaints was I wish there was more tombes to explore like the original Tomb Raider.

If you're a fan of the Uncharted series as I am, you'll love this game as well. I'm about half way through it, and it's great fun. I'm glad I waited until I got a PS4 to get this because it looks spectacular compared to the PS3 version.

I had this game for PS3 and being a Tomb Raider fan I purchased it again. They gameplay is smooth and the storyline is great. Must have for any Tomb Raider fan. The second time through was just as good.

When it was announced that the Tomb Raider series would be rebooted, I was skeptical. As a longtime fan of the series, I was worried about how an origin story would change the character. After playing the reboot on PS3, I found my worries to be unfounded. I'm just getting started playing it on a PS4, but already the graphics are even more vivid and intense than I could have imagined (I thought they were pretty great on PS3). I am really looking forward to replaying this adventure and all the additional content.
