Beware the 2GB limit of Windows if you want this to be 5GB main system C: drive. Will work OK as extra storage with full 5GB but not as main without partitioning.

I actually purchased this drive just yesterday (two of them). I am using them into my Dell Power Edge T420. I don't know why this doesn't show that I purchased it, maybe it takes a day or so? I am logged in.. OS : Windows 2012 Datacenter The Good: * It's huge * It was easy to install * It was super cheap (on sale# * It seems pretty darn fast The Bad: It is loud.. there is no doubt. All my other drives #5 of them# are quiet as a mouse. This thing knocks as if someone is living in it lol when it's doing a lot of writes. Do I care about the bad, NOPE. I am only mentioning it because it is loud. My Use: * I am using it for Virtual Machine running #so starting them all its LOUUUUDDD# * for mirroring the VM's #works great# * for extra storage of network files #and have them mirrored# Again I would buy this in a minute. But I wouldn't put this in my bedroom it would keep me awake big time. Right now as I write this, I am moving some files around #large files about 400gigs) and it's loud lol. But as long as it stays running the noise isn't a problem. And just so it's clear, its the drive, not my server.. my server was quiet as a mouse until I added these two drives. Don't care :-) still awesome

Have had this hard drive for a while now and it works great. Sometimes its a bit noisy but nothing troubling.

I got this hard drive on sale and originally though it was a great value for such a 5TB hard drive. But the hard drive was too loud for me. It makes noise whenever the drive is being used. Too annoying for me. I ended up returning it and bought a different drive that is very quiet.

I purchased the drive some time ago. I had removed it from the computer and when I reinstalled the drive and tried to connect the power plug, the plastic of the plug broke off. I've tried since then to get support from Toshiba, and I've never heard anything.

It's a shame, I bought this and it was ok at first, and now a year later and it is dead and I cannot get Toshiba to do anything about it. I don't believe companies should be able to sell you data "storage" at the expectation that you are doubling it up (which I did btw) to have a backup, just so one of them can stop working every year so you have to buy new ones. No more Toshiba products for me

Awesome drive with tons of storage. Use the Nyko attachment and this drive to have endless storage!

I love this drive: It's a great value for 5 TB's... it's perceptively fast...7500 RPM and a nice 128 MB cache buffer. It does run a bit warm, but no big deal... keep it well ventilated.

TOshiba has been known to make low cost hard drives with a lot of storage. While this can scare people, I will say I have ton of portable hard drives from Toshiba(probably about 6 I used for work) and not one has failed and I have owned them far beyond their warranty. This hard drive was easy to install (doesn't come with a sata cable fyi, so buy one if you don't have an extra or replacing a drive) and windows 10 detected immediately. The drive is fast. The speed never dropped while my other drive was changing speeds high to low, the write on this bad boy kept constant. I was shocked how quick it finished. great drive
