Wonderful screen size, ten key is a plus, and screen resolution is a pleasant surprise. But the processor simply doesn't allow for efficient use of Windows 8 apps in the built-in Wi-Fi card is occasionally dicey. All in all you get more than you paid for.

For the price I paid, this has exceeded my expectations! It's lightweight, fast and perfect! I have had absolutely NO issues with performance! Best decision I made!

Got it on sale for 200 bucks,didnt think it came with an sd card slot but it does,not a fan of windows 8 but will get use to it for that price.

This has ok speed for web browsing, but not much else. The display resolution maxes out at 720 so no super hd viewing, but this works for my needs. I just use it for shopping and emails with occasional pic uploads. If you need a fast cpu this isn't for you, but for 200 bucks i'm not complaining.

Works well, has a good screen size. Slower processing of flash compared to some smaller models.

It has a Celeron Processor so the uptake is slower than "i" series processors, but if you don't need to be running a couple of heavy programs that require serious processing, this is the one for you. To be sure you don't get lag or a slow responsiveness, close programs you aren't using before opening new ones. Didn't come with much bloatware and was quick to set-up. this is good if you want a computer for streaming media like netflix, internet browsing, and email...any heavy sofware like Photoshop or dreamweaver, will require you to allocate more processing power by shutting down other applications.

Great laptop...a little slow, but for the price it's a great deal! Would buy it again!

The laptop was $249.99 and, for the price, it works like a dream. I have very basic computer needs. I only us it for writing, sending e-mails, generating spreadsheets and Skyping. Since all the work I do is in the cloud (Google docs or Outlook), I barely use any memory and the speed of the computer works for me because I don't run graphic or media apps. I basically use the laptop like a netbook. I've had it since May and only used less than 15% of the memory. I use the DVD player to watch movies and I'm satisfied with the image and sound quality. When I stream video online at 1 or 2 sites and Skype, it pauses every now and then, but not enough to be annoying. But I think that has more to do with the strength/speed of my wifi signal than the speed of the computer. Or it could be both. I also notice that the Skype resolution is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Overall I'm pleased with the price and performance of this near-outdated and soon-to-be discontinued product.

Got this for my 84 year old mother. It's better than a Chromebook, and comparable in price. It's no speed demon, but it works well. It does come with a lot of bloatware. Removing it is a challenge for my mother. Still, it goes what she needs it to (e-mail and Google). Loaded it up with LibreOffice and an open source PDF reader. Good for a kid that needs to do reports, but not gaming. Great value.

I purchased this laptop for my MIL. The screen is a great size for her. I was going to get a laptop with a 11" screen to get one in our price range. However, this 15" screen and price caught my eye. It works well for browsing the internet, Facebooking and playing games (which are her favorites). The hard drive size & processor speed are awesome. The great price just took it over the top.

This Toshiba is lightweight, large enough to be comfortable, small enough to fit in a backpack; I like the number keypad on the side for easy data entry. There is nothing fancy or fashionable about this device. The battery life has been adequate, nothing spectacular; I can get through about 4 hours of constant use before the battery is drained. I have not needed the DVD/CD drive but all other ports/connections work fine. When connecting to a wireless speaker I have to go to the control panel every time to tell the laptop to connect to the speaker; it seems like this should be automatic since I do so multiple times a day and my phone is smart enough to do so. I installed Chrome which has been problematic: not responding, crashing, have to reboot the laptop. This happens at least once a day; not sure if it's a Toshiba or a Google problem but I never had this issue on past devices. I haven't loaded any music, don't do many downloads or save many files/apps to the hard drive. All this being said: it's better than the 5 year old, slow, outdated laptop I replaced.

Went in looking for a portable DVD player. It was suggested That I look at a laptop that was on sale. This was an excellent choice as I got more features and I couldn't beat the price. Happy that I went in that day and met a very knowledgable sales rep. Loving it!!!

This Toshiba computer is a great starter computer for the price. It's a little slow but for the price it works great without any problems.

The laptop is easy to use, lightweight,and works well. Windows 8 is also easy to use and find information on. There is plenty of storage for my needs. The keyboard is set up well. The Best buy staff was helpful and knowledgeable. This is an all around great laptop for the price. I am happy with my choice.

I bought this for my dad, it is taking him a little to get used to Windows 8, but he is getting there. Good laptop for for the price.

This Toshiba laptop is a very good laptop you should have with 4GB memory and 500GB storage disk space and also with a nice DVD-drive to watch your movies! A perfect laptop to gift your Dad or to your son/daughter for their college days. The keyboard is with num-keys on the right which makes it even better! is the webcam to chat with your buddies on skype. The Intel processor makes it running like a charm!!! I couldn't stress enough about its weight and thinness. Superb!!!!

Great price offer by best buy. Nothing cheaper out there for the price match so lowest price given by best buy. Laptop works like a charm for kids school work and playing games and movies. Only minor draw with the virus protection program when installing, took forever and kept needing to reboot for no reason and didn't remove unwanted programs like it wanted to automatically. I hand to do it manually so it stops rebooting because of a warning. Otherwise works great. Just minor glitch with the virus protection but nothing serious effecting the computer. Works perfect

Great laptop for basic functions. Internet, you tube, music, videos etc. good value for the price. Try not to push it too hard and itll be fine for basic use. Not a fan of windows 8 but these laptops are eligible for windows 10 upgrade for free.

Just bought this computer and my initial thoughts are that this computer is a.o.k. If your just the average consumer looking for a cheap laptop that will surf the web and perform other task, this laptops for you. This also comes with an optical drive, so its a good feature to have, but personally not a necessity. It works fluently and fast using programs and surfing the web is no problem (that mainly depends on your wifi connection however [ mine is at 5 bars :) ] . Along so, tho I would recommend a higher end computer, this laptop can do some pretty good editing as I have done a couple projects in photoshop and sony vegas pro 13, and it still seems to be holding up well. So if your looking for a cheap, useful laptop, well consider this one bought!

The Toshiba I purchased to use as a word processor when I'm away from home or elsewhere in the house versus being on my desktop. I'm a writer and need to be able to move around. The laptop is slow, but basically does what I need it to do. I've only had it a short time and hope it continues to work as well as it has.
