The screen on my old laptop died and I got this as a replacement. It is faster, has a nice screen, and weighs about a third less than my old one. The only issue I am having is the free upgrade to Windows 10. I signed up for it during the registration process and now, 2 weeks after it was released, I have yet to hear from Toshiba about when my update will be available.

This is a good buy for someone practical that can also deal with some hang-ups. We had issues trying to get the internet to work for the first couple of days, and the fact that Windows 8 comes with the system is obviously a complication, since it throws-off older people and veteran alike. I really had to teach my father-in-law not to use the apps and instead use the programs, otherwise he was lost with no back button to retreat to his previously browsed topic.

If you need a laptop for basic needs like email, web browsing and occasional documents, this is a good entry level laptop. No touch screen, which on most laptops doesn't get used anyway. It does come with a dvd player and has a nice display. The keyboard has a nice feel to it. If you are a gamer or need fast speeds for streaming, spend more to get a faster processor. Otherwise this is a great basic machine.

Great price on a laptop that does everything I needed it to do in a quick and simple manner.

The computer touchpad is very sensitive. The lag time between switching from one application to another is too long. I like the way the desktop is organized and you can't beat the price, but the overall performance is not a good fit for what I need from a computer,

This laptop is good for startup. It is worth the price and also can do the job..

Low cost product performs well with ample features and basics set up and ready to use. Additional apps only a click away and easy to find. Would recommend a product tutorial if purchasing this product as or for a beginner. Keyboard, while flat, has easy to read keys and the numbers pad makes calculator use as easy as pie.

This computer is a great deal. It is sturdy, lightweight, has a plug with only two prongs (which works nicely with our extension cords), and is worth the price. We were having issues with it connecting to the internet first, always saying the connection was limited and not letting us browse, but it was fixed. Would recommend for anyone just looking for something reliable to browse, watch DVDs, etc.

Compared to other computers ive had, this one by far is the slowest ive had. But what can you expect from the price. Recommend it if its for children ir just super basic use.

I selected this computer because it had a 15-pin connector for my computer projector which I use for training classes I present. I like the feel of the keyboard and the larger screen size which the netbook lacked. It doesn't have the latest bells and whistles, but I don't need them. It is a solid general purpose computer. I've downloaded Windows 10 and it works perfectly on the computer.

I purchased this laptop to replace an older Toshiba laptop which died. It was on the clearance shelf and I bought it for under $250. It has met all my needs since purchasing. Upgraded to win 10 with no problems

My husband and I bought two of these, and for the money they are pretty good. We just play games and surf the web, so don't use it for school or anything like that, although it may work just fine for that type of thing. It runs a bit slow but not very noticeable.

I would give my laptop a 4 star rating and the Windows 8.1 0 stars...the laptop had some nice improvements over my last Toshiba..love it. Absolutely hate Windows 8.1...this really sucks big time....too much nonsense installed and the floating screens are really junk.....if I get the chance to take this garbage off and replace with Windows 7 it is done....

Not a bad computer for basic daily use. Couldn't ask for a better price.

Decent computer; only problem is all of the pop up ads that come up from the preloaded software. It's been very annoying to have to go and find where to turn them off. Other than that, it's a good computer for the price.

Wanted an inexpensive second laptop. Have not had it for long, but it works great - no complaints at all. It is not used to play games or watch movies so cannot comment on that aspect, but searching online, making documents, storing photos - does the job perfectly!

I wanted so very durable and a lot of RAM for system processing and multitasking. For the price I got it for I wont complain at all and with more than enough storage and capabilities even for gaming I am more than a happy camper. Overall fast, sleek, amazing video/screen quality. Yes.

The shipping was fast and free. Got to me in 2 days!!! This laptop was a "great buy" because it is rare to find a laptop with a DVD drive included for under $200. The screen is larger than I expected but that's a positive feature for people who like a large screen to watch movies or play games.It was loaded with windows 8.1 but Best Buy offered to send a link with the new Windows 10 updates for free since I bought the laptop close to the new windows launch date. I only gave this laptop a good rating and not an excellent because I haven't fully explored it's pros and cons as I just got it in the last week. But so far so good!
