Unfortunately the processor speed is not match with what I checked in website! Why ? I don't know! I just bought it from bestBuy. They told me that the speed goes to 3.6 GHz but the base is 2.6!! when i click on photo or weather option in start menu the icons images appear like attached files! :((
It is not as fast as I thought!

Thank you for the review, Amin.
This Satellite S55-C5248 is equipped with the 4th Gen Intel Core i7-4720HQ Processor which has a base frequency of 2.6 GHz and a burst frequency of 3.6 GHz. It uses the higher speed when applications need it and the lower speed to conserve battery power when the applications in use would not benefit from a faster clock speed.
Thanks again for the feedback.

Bought this laptop to be mainly used for home office. It has all the functions required for the home office. This does not have the touch screen but has the optical driver. For my every functions, did not need the touch screen for the home office use. Glad that this one had the optical drive.
The two drawback of this laptop is the heat generated from the bottom, as such if you keep in your lap, it will get hotter. Second, the specifications indicated 3.6ghz, but actually it is 2.6ghz. This is a major difference between what the specifications indicated and what the actual processor. Toshiba should clearly spend some time to have the correct specifications listed as they cannot go wrong on a major item such as processor speed.
The actual 2.6ghz processor speed is not much speed compared to what I used to do.
Windows 10 works like a charm, just took some time to figure out where the items are such as control panel, hard drive etc. There is a search bar on the bottom where you can find all the items you wanted such as control panel, your computer etc.
Overall a good lap top but not lightening fast that I was expecting.

I've had this for about a week now, and this is what I've found from my breaking-in period.
Pros:
- Very light and very thin for the screen size.
- Runs fairly cool, especially when just browsing
- 4k display (twice the size of 1080p) is very crisp. But....
Cons:
- 4k is not a mature technology yet. Certain apps will just show up tiny and you'll strain to read them.
- Short Battery life, but what else is new...
- Most games will NOT run in 4k/60FPS. It's got a decent little on-board gpu (Intel HD 520), but you will need to downscale to 1920 for most games made this decade.
- Bloatware. Oh, the bloatware. Spent a good 2 hours removing all of it. An 'app' that's just a link to Ebay? Sign me up!
- EVERY laptop seems to be a tablet convertible nowadays, but this one doesn't have the rotation part, so you've got to hold it by the keyboard when you turn the screen backwards.
Save your money and buy last year's i5 model.
