The movie, Transcendence is a very entertaining movie. I would definitely recommend the purchase of this movie.

This is a good movie that is very thought provoking.

Im a big fan of Johnny Depp, even though sometimes it does feel that he portrait the same character or have some similarities. He's character was more close to normal than what he usually plays. Now have saying that, the movie is very intertaining in the idea of immortality through technology, thats pretty obvious. But questioning what is morality right, not just for someone or yourself on what you belive and if everyone is willing to understand should be the right thing to do for mankind and what we are willing to give up to get to that point. The idea is very intertaining, we all want to live a better life and immortality, when something new is introduced we as inteligente beings are afraid of the unknown and thats the whole idea of this film. This has opened up a lot of new conversations with my friends of what we all thought is the right thing to do yet facing the hard reality that the unknown can separate what we think of what to do to fix our problems that we our self have cause to the planet and our self as so call inteligente species.

I don't understand why everybody is so negative when it comes to Johnny Depp I went into this film with high hopes and it did not disappoint it had what I was looking for a great story with some action and drama as well this film was very interesting to look at with very good visuals and some top notch actors like Morgan Freeman & Cillan Murphy & Paul Bettany comparing such a film like this to others is just plain wrong I found this movie very good 7 out of 10. I did note that many leaving the theater were disappointed with the ending. SPOILER FOLLOWS: I never expected the film to explain the meaning of life and the origin of the universe to me so I enjoyed it for its entertainment value.

Without spoilers added. This movie has a slightly different twist on the subject of a computer scientist that gets his consciousness uploaded to an advanced computer network. The obvious conflict is between people that see technological advancement as a good thing and another group that insist that this pursuit needs to be stopped at all cost. The underlining question that runs through most of the film is: Is the uploaded person a continuation of the human being that died or something completely different without emotions? The scientist's wife struggles for the answer to this question.

Transcendence is a "big picture" movie. It asks us to think about where our world is going and whether our dependence on technology is a good thing. Our life is made easier but it also can lead to persons or entities that might not have the most benevolent priorities coming to power. The actors give good performances and convey the uneasy sense of a world changing too fast. It drags a bit in the middle and the narration feels like it's killing time but picks up at the end for a finish that will provoke discussion and debate.

Saw clips before but never had any interest. Then one day, bored, I decided to take a chance. It was surprisingly good. Depps performance seemed a bit wooden, but the story and the others performances were outstanding and propelled the story forward. A SCi-fi what if! and to be honest, by the end of the film, I couldn't really decide WHO the good guys were and WHO the bad guys were, if in fact there WERE any of EITHER. Definately worth checking out!

This movie was interesting, but a little slow and the story didn't let you care about the main actors enough to create any tension as to what was going to happen. Kate Mara as the "bad guy" was the best character and she was hardly in the movie at all. If you like Sci-Fi then this movie is a good representation of how far modern Sci-Fi movie making has come and it is worth watching, but it is not on par with say Blade Runner or of the other "stories with a message" type sic-fi movies.

Didn't see it at the movie theatre but wanted to. Though that it was going to be similar to the movie Lucy and its not. Did enjoy watching this at my ex girlfriend house and had a great debate about the ending. For some strange resend we are closer. Not saying that this will get people back together again, but the ending was interesting. Hope I don't give any spoiler away so if you haven't seen this stop reading now. For my understanding, its all about trust.

Transcendence give a new spin on thei ea of we as a species are relying on technology and it eventually taking us over.The performances are pretty good and more restrained then Johnny Depp usally gives now a days.There are some silly logical leaps at times though such as the FBI working with a terrorist organizations.Still it's a pretty decent movie from Christopher Nolan's longtime cinematographer Wally Pfister in his directoral debut.

Depp has done it again. This movie leaves you with many more questions than answers. In today's world, it is not so far-fetched to think that one can go beyond death into a type of "artificial" intelligence which would essentially be immortality. Plus, if you had that kind of power, would you use it for good or evil. Would you take over the world in an effort to bring peace? I really liked this movie.

While this movie is great. I purchased this particular copy because it advertises that it carried a digital copy. Well, there is none. Will be returning because Bestbuy needs to be more accurate when the list items because it is unfair for me the consumer.
