Although Shia is not it I really enjoyed Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci. Got some history behind the transformers existence. I'm a big transformer fan even watched the cartoon as a child. I was a tomboy.

It only took 4 movies for them to finally introduce the Dinobots and i got to see them for like 5 minutes. Total disappointment. Should have been at least 15 minutes.

This is a good movie, but in reality the writing and acting has gone down hill after Megan Fox left the series. The 3D is a great bonus but the iTunes digital copy is by far the best part of the deal. It comes with ultraviolet/vudu as well, but I have found that to be a far inferior product with inconsistent loading in all my various ultraviolet accounts - what a hassle.
I can also say that I am furious that the movie companies are deleting scenes from movies just so they can have deleted scenes. The third movie was missing so many scenes that I saw in the theatre. The 3D version of that movie didn't have deleted scenes included however my friends 2D version did and 90% of the deleted scenes were in the movie at the theater. I am finding that you have to get the directors cut now if you want to actually have the movie as you saw it in the theatre which is just ridiculous.
Come on movie companies, at least give your customers the option to choose how they want their digital copy. If you want to combat the piracy issues then give every movie sold a digital copy. And give it to the customers in the 'format' the customer wants to use for them - iTunes, Google, Amazon, even UV if you for some reason like that format.

First let's stop with all the Bay hating. Yes the Transformers movie's don't have strong plots or story's but what dumb a** goes to a movie about "ALIEN ROBOT'S THAT TRANSFORM INTO VEHICLES" for the plot or story line. Come on people these are movie's created from an 80's Japanese toy line with a back story of being robot alien's stranded on earth that's it nothing else period. With that being said I think all the Transformers movie's are awesome for action movies (*Revenge of the Fallen did kinda suck I must say) but Age of extinction was a fun action packed popcorn movie that can be enjoyed by open minded adults and definitely children. I liked the movie and I think most people forget these movies are really attended for kids just because we grew up on the cartoons & play with the toys we hope for better story's & plots from the movie when there was never one to begin with. So I'll just say that Transformers Age of extinction was awesome let's stop being so critical of every little thing especially when it comes to action movies. (PS. If these movies came out in the 80's & 90's most people would love them and they would be considered the most visually stunning movie's since Star Wars or Jurassic Park.)

Okay, so I know a lot of people love to make fun of this franchise mainly because of Michael Bay. I always enjoyed the first one, disliked the 2nd, and found the 3rd one to be amazing and it even found a way to make Shia seems to be a decent character finally! However after the epic battle in 3, I wondered how they could ever top themselves. Apparently Michael Bay thought the same thing and took a whole new approach here. For starters, there is only a small ragtag group of autobots left this time and they are bitter at the humans. It made the battles less epic in scope but more squad-based tactical which made it much easier to care about each character. The other big change is there's ni Shia, instead we are upgraded to Mark Walberg's presence along with his wild child daughter. The father daughter story is good though it is very similar to the relationship of the father daughter duo in another Bay classic Armageddon so take that for whatever that means. The big battle at the end while not Transformers 3 scale is quite good. The origin story for Galvatron is way off from the original animated movie/series but the premise except for who he used to be. He also looks nothing like he did in the old toy and cartoon but he's still cool! The ending sets the foundation for an awesome set of sequels that likely can introduce more of the cool characters from the animated movie (Unicron and the Quintessons perhaps?). The future looks bright for this franchise!

I love all the transformers movies, just because they're entertaining. I know they're not critically acclaimed for the acting or the heart-wrenching story like say a Terms of Endearment, but they're not supposed to be. They're action, they're visually spectacular, and very fun! It's escapism at it's best. Watching these movies with a nice surround system is a must. The explosions, the sounds of the transforming, all of it is a much better experience with surround and a good subwoofer! I can do without 2 things in the movies...the eye candy that is the chicks in short shorts! To me, it just doesn't add to the movie. I guess because I'm not a adolescent teenage boy. Secondly, is the language. it seems like all sequels, things are pushed further each time another one is made. There was more profanity in this one than the others. It too doesn't add to the movie. My 4 year old son loves Transformers, too and I don't want him picking up the language. I know one day he will be exposed to it, but c'mon! These movies are enjoyed by all age groups, Michael Bay, please tone down those 2 things and all will be well. Mark Wahlberg did a good job in the movie... I like his movies anyway. I didn't miss Shia LaBeouf or any of the other actors from the previous ones. Also, this one had more work done on the video side. I loved the robots! All of them were too cool...Lockdown is a bad dude! His walk, his whole demeanor...I found myself liking him. Those Dinobots were massive! I can't wait to watch it again...and for the next one, which is probably already in the works.

As many other fans of the series, I entered this movie with a healthy level of skepticism. After my disappointment with Dark of the Moon, which I almost walked out if the theater on, I was all but certain that this movie would also let me down. But to my surprise I found myself encapsulated and drawn into not only the storyline, but also all og the stunning effects and explosions that are accustomed to Michael Bay movies. Now granted he will never be known as a great oscar winning director who is known for great writing and impeccable storytelling, far from I t. But if you go into this movie with the understanding that it's nothing more than than a Michael Bay movie, you will be pleasantly surprised. The one thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the fact that he cut down dramatically the cheesy jokes that seemed forced down our throats during the first 3 movies. And the acting by Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci are a welcomed change from the drab and dreary and mostly annoying interactions from Shia Lebeauf. While the movie is almost 3 hours long, it does not drag at a slow pace like Dark of the Moon and the Fallen seemed too. This movie actually left me looking forward to the next film, something I hadn't felt since leaving the theater after the first one. Definitely worth watching!

Michael Bay is back with his ballistical, bombastic and booming bangs for your bucks.
The film maintains the same look and feel of his previous films, yet, has a (slightly) new direction in story. Gone is LaBeouf and here to (seemingly) stay is Marky-Mark. Mark Wahlberg plays a poor, but brilliant inventor from one the most gorgeous and acreage farms in the state of Texas. (I happen to live in Texas and that land and his farm would easily be worth millions.
These are typical beautiful shots made by and for Michael Bay to blow up in a visual menagerie of utter glory. As cheesy as the story may be the visuals and audio is incredible in this film - ESPECIALLY, in 3D. If you have a 3D tv and a home theater audio system I HIGHLY recommend this film. It's gorgeous and the sound will blast you into the back of your couch.
This is a paint-by-numbers fun popcorn-flick, but it paints in vivid glorious colors. Your not getting a film that will make you think or blow your mind, but you are getting a simple and fun film. Period.
So, cook some popcorn, dim the lights, turn the volume up, put on your glasses and let yourself enjoy the ride. :)

Between the movie and the steelbook

The movie itself is quite good. It runs a bit long and can be rather monotonous at points, but it easily puts up a fight with the first movie in terms of quality.
I like Mark Wahlberg, but he seems somewhat out of place in this one. A movie like this just isn't his gig.
More than anything though, the climactic scene makes the movie. Very large and explosive with a great new element for the films.
Now onto the steelbook. Largely, this is the only reason I actually bought the movie. It's not the highest quality steelbook I've seen, but it looks quite good. Unfortunately, the inside image is just of a metallic texture.
The biggest problem I have with it is that I looked through every single case in the entire store and not a single one was without damage. This is why I say the quality of the case is poor. All cases have manufacturing damage (not shipping damage) on either the spine and/or the bottom right front of the case. Very disappointing to go to the checkout knowing that I'm purchasing an imperfect steelbook because I have no other option.
Decent movie with a steelbook that has something more to be desired.
