Great action movie. I'm a huge fan of TFs and the comic book movies so this was a real treat. The sound and picture are truly amazing, including the new Dolby Atmos technology that's introduced to blu-ray movies with this release. Sound is great and picture quality is superb. I have Samsung 60" Smart 3D TV and Bose V25 system for audio. PS3 is still my choice of 3D players and it did the job nicely with my home theater setup for TF4.
Definitely a better storyline without the poor acting of Shia Labeouf, his annoying parents & Megan Fox. Their absence helped make the movie more believable and enjoyable. Hopefully they will not return for any of the next installments. Also, Michael Bay continues to provide the most & best movie extras for home video releases adding to this title's value.
*Only drawback for this title is the 3D combo wasn't available in steelbook edition :/

Just like the last 2 outings, Transformers: Age of Extinction offers a spectacle unlike any other. The special FX are top notch but as usual, Michael Bay is more preocupied with slo-mo shots, 1800 VFX shots showing off said tranformers, but it makes you think that he invested only about $5 on the script budget. These movies get dumber as their number increases. IT's sad though because we all eat them up since they do entertain but it would be wise but this very succesful movie director to just look at some of his peers work (Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan to name a few) and realize that he can also rise to the ocassion and far exceed our expectations.

Between the movie and the 3D

The movie itself is quite good. It runs a bit long and can be rather monotonous at points, but it easily puts up a fight with the first movie in terms of quality.
I like Mark Wahlberg, but he seems somewhat out of place in this one. A movie like this just isn't his gig.
More than anything though, the climactic scene makes the movie. Very large and explosive with a great new element for the films.
Now onto the 3D. I did not notice a single 3D pop-out gimmick in this movie which is a very good thing. Avoiding gimmicks is the difference between having 3D to enhance the movie and having 3D to be an amusement park ride. The 3D is in this movie to make it deeper and fuller rather than to play pop-up book. Having been filmed in 3D as opposed to converted, it looks quite good. No complaints here.
Decent movie with 3D as it should be.

This is a enjoyable movie. Yes if you are a movie buff like myself it has a lot of plot holes and terrible script but its still a fun action movie. Mark Walhberg does what he can with his acting since the script is bad he is limited to what he can do. The cast overall do a good job with what they are given. I would still recommend to people to just watch it for the Transformers aspect. The movie is definitely the worst one of the four movies that have been released but like I mentioned you can still enjoy it for the Transformers aspect and the action. If you're a person that likes to nit pick at all the stuff that is wrong with the movie then there is a lot of nit picking to do and most likely not the movie for you, but if you are a person that just likes to sit down and watch an action movie then you'll enjoy this.

Good NOT great movie in the Transformer franchise line. While the movies keeps the franchise going, I still find it tough to swallow the way Michael Bay has junked the original forms of our favorite Transformers we've all come to know since childhood. Don't get me wrong the movie is good, lots of action and keeps in line with the whole sci-fi theme. However with the movie light on plot development, it is time that Michael Bay doesn't even touch the Transformers franchise anymore and have someone else come in who believes what the Transformers should be on the big screen and maybe try to keep the original models we've come to know.

This isn't high art. If you're troubled by the thin plot, you must be new to Transformers movies. I am surprised that more effort isn't taken to make it more youngster friendly. Language is a bit rough even though it's a youth/toy oriented franchise.
That said, it's 160+ minutes of high intensity action with Mark Wahlberg taking the lead role. I love the way various film formats (IMAX full 1.85:1 and 2.35:1) were seamlessly blended for a great viewing experience. The colors are intense and the image detail is perfect with no phony edge enhancement. Nice 3D effects despite mostly bright scenes. If you've seen other 3D efforts, you know it's too often with dark scene after dark scene. This is a great demo of any high quality theater system. If you've got seat/motion shakers, they'll get a real work-out.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is a FANTASTICAL movie with tons of amazing special affects, action and humor as expected from Director, Michael Bay. In this feature, the human governments have turned against the Autobots, who saved their planet from the Decepticons in the battle of Chicago. Throughout the movie, we see the humans team up with a Transformer bounty-hunter that is seeking to capture Optimus Prime and return him to his creators. The bounty-hunter helps the humans track down and destroy the last remaining Autobots on Earth in exchange for an advanced technology. Optimus Prime has given up on the human race, when he finds hope in Mark Wahlberg's character, a junk collector and aspiring inventor. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that wants to see a great sci-fi action flick, mixed with well placed humor and tons of special effects.

Transformers 4 doesn't try to be something it isn't. It is a action packed entertaining movie. If you expect something else from it you are setting your standards too high. It has a lot of action and fighting through out the movie. To me it has the better story since the first movie, but with better actors. I would take Markie Markie over Shia any day for an action movie, well almost any movie asides from Even Stevens for that matter. The acting was much better in this one and the CG was pretty cool. Not to mention Dinobots (in some form) is majorly awesome. It's a little long of movie, but it never really felt like it when watching it. If your looking for some award winning piece of art, well you'll need to find something else. However, if you like robots and action you'd be hard pressed to find something much better in recent years.

The good news is you don’t have to have seen the first three films to help you make sense of Transformers: Age of Extinction. It really won't help much.
The basic things you need to know are re-established in the first act. Autobots are good, giant transforming alien robots. Decepticons are bad, giant transforming alien robots. But after their battle in Chicago laid waste to the metropolis, the U.S. government is ignoring this distinction, and hunting all Transformers down. When one scrappy but struggling inventor (Mark Wahlberg) stumbles across a battered and broken Optimus Prime, the government finder's fee is tempting. But Cade Yeager is our hero, and so will never betray his new extraterrestrial buddy – no matter what utter destruction it brings into his life.

transformers 4 was exactly as I expected, and in some ways better.
Yes, the acting is at some times dry, and yes it wasn't AS funny as the first two (as far as Shia is concerned), but all in all, it delivered.
The special effects were incredible and breath taking. The amount of detail in Lock down and his ship, as well as what was done to the dino bots were just paramount, and on par for what Michael bay's crew is known for in the past.
If you expected an academy award winning movie for acting and story line, you wont get it. But who cares! Its GIANT ROBOTS fighting each other and blowing stuff up. It brought the kid in me out in full force and I was blown away.
Great buy!
and the case is cool too if you get the steel sleeve. Also, im hoping for a big box special edition with a dino bot and all the previous movies.

The government has waged war against Transformers following the events of Transformers: Dark side of the moon. The Autobots, though known as out allies against the deadly Decepticons, have gone into hiding because even they are being hunted down and destroyed. A chance encounter has local inventor getting possession of an old shot up truck that unbeknownst to him is the legendary Optimus Prime. Together they track down the remembering members of Prime's team before taking on the corporation behind the killings of Transformers.
The new film (which is expected to be the first in a new planned trilogy) stars Mark Wahlberg (Fighter, The Gambler), Nicola Peltz (The Bates Motel), Jack Reynor (Delivery Man), Kelsey Grammer (Fraiser, Cheers) and Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones, The Hunger Games Saga).

The movie is what you would expect from Michael Bay about giant robots that turn into cars. There is a plot, not much of one but there is a plot, but let's be reasonable this is the 4th Transformers movie, you know what you're getting into. It's also the best one of the bunch for what that's worth (I would have bought it just to see Optimus Prime ride Grimlock into battle, that scene is awesome!).
The sound and the picture quality are both superb, that's the reason that you will see this playing in every sound demo available until the next one comes out. If you just bought your first surround sound I'd recommend this to show off just what your new system can do. You'll also be missing out if you just watch it on regular TV speakers.
