I just love Transformers Movies, but the 4th part I was kind of disappointed. The first 3 parts were based on the same human characters and more connected in all than the fourth part. I know it is a new era but still I would have liked it more if was a little bit more connected. In my own opinion, I just find the human leaders stupid. They eliminate their protectors and create more threats. You don't have to be genius to recognize that. But I would still recommend this movie. Just for Transformers Fan sake!

I purchased this as well as the 3D Blu-ray version of this film. I normally go 3D whenever I have the chance in order to get the most complete package. I also happen to be a steelbook collector, which is why I double dipped on this package. The steelbook is very attractive and sturdy. The disc's video and audio presentation are superb. This happens to be the very first Dolby Atmos-encoded release of a major motion picture. Although I do not have that setup at home, I have heard great things about it.

Like the rest of other transformer great movie lots of action and great visual effects. 3D effects are great and the movie looks great as well, and the sound is incredible some how sound better than the DTS-MA it was probably the new track format Dolby Atmos. The extras was outstanding over 3 hours worth, they describe everything about the movie and how it was make, Michael Bay love's explosions! very enjoyable recommended.

My previous favorite TF CGI movie was Revenge of the Fallen because of the fight scenes but this movie beats that and then some because of the Dinobots and Prime with a sword. The plot is also a lot more complex than the first three chapters with a rogue CIA group targeting Prime with help of Lockdown. It changes all the variables when it becomes a matter of who can they trust anymore in order to survive. The only complaint is the movie is LONG - close to 3 hours but the story is so much better than the first three. Pick it up!

OK - Let's get the preliminary stuff out of the way. I grew up watching & buying Transformers/Go-Bots. I was a happy camper. Then when the movies started coming out - I really looked forward to them, knowing the technology was here to do them justice.
One thing I overlooked was: how much fighting would take up time-wise in each movie? The percentage grew, which meant plot & storytelling would have to take a back seat more & more. This is the 4th Transformers movie. The logo changed since the Shia days to somehow differentiate THOSE movies from this (and maybe more). Plot became simple and to the point, told in mere moments as the movie unfolded. Fight scenes were just endless. Endless... I realized, there is no more story. All plot lines were only excuses to one end: MORE/LONGER FIGHT SCENES.
Honestly, am I sorry I bought this? Yes. I watched it in the theaters and - primarily because I owned the other three - I purchased this (visually) beautifully presentation of a REAL bad movie. I like the actors, not some of the characters (Hate the secret boyfriend - Dad should have shot him and put him under some wreckage. Daughter needed a butt-kicking real bad, as well.) Truth: I bought this the day it came out & I have yet to watch it. It's nowhere near the top of my list to do so.
Save your money. Watch one of the previous releases (if pretty much you only love the fight scenes) and pretend it's the new one. Chances are, you won't be able to tell the difference.

I thought I would miss some of the other stars like Josh Duhmal and Tyrese as they were great in the first ones... I think it is one of the better ones of the Transformer series. The direction they went was a good one as I feel that they had stretched out Sam Witwiky (don't think I spelled it right) storyline and without the original cast branching into a new story are was a good way to go. Okaaaayyyy so some of the action scenes were a little unrealistic no matter how in shape you are but it's great and fun action.

This movie was not what I really expected from the Transformers franchise, but it still kept me on the edge of my seat. With all new characters - besides the robots of course - this movie follows a totally new plot line years after the last movie ended. The acting could have be better; however, the information gained from the new badass villain is enough to make any die hard fan want to pull up a chair. And don't forget that everyone needs to witness the amazing Dinobotos at the end.

First Michael Bay is a genius. Second Transformers 4 is not a reboot but a brilliant refresh. Optimus himself has been given a serious character change that's both stark and welcome. It's nice to see that character development applied to a Transformer and not just humans. My only beef is that it's longer than previous installments. I have a cut off of 140min run time as far as epic length goes. TF runs 165min. Still for a movie this long, it will be spinning in my BR player quite a bit.

The movie itself is a slight improvement on the franchise as a whole, but still overly long and incredibly implausible (sometimes diving into the incalculably stupid). However, the 3D Blu-ray is reference quality. The image quality is superb and the IMAX portions are crystal clear. I only wish more of the movie was in the IMAX format. As for audio, this is the very first Dolby Atmos-encoded Blu-ray released. Although I do not have such a setup at home, I have heard that it is excellent.

Every now and then, it's nice to watch a flick and not have to think. This is one of 'em. This is the first "Transformers" flick w/o Shia Lebouf and I'm glad he's out of the picture. Mark Wahlberg is pretty competent in the role as well as the other supporting actors, but it's all about the action, right? The action sequences are great. Video is crisp and audio is great. Movie made bucks, so there's already talk of a sequel. Is it worth the purchase? Yeah, I'd watch it again.

Regardless of all the hate towards Michael Bay, I am a Transformers fan. And i think he did a good job for the franchise. He did make them bigger and more well known after the movies for newcomers (i have followed Transformers since the G1 generation, but still open minded regarding the movies). I did like the past 3 previous movies, however the fourth was little slow at times and too little of a plot line. Overall, I still love the movie. The sound and picture is outstanding!

This movie takes the Transformers franchise to a new level. The Dinobots were great, but should have been more storyline in the beginning of the movie. Never did figure out the Viking transformers. And not enough detail about the bad guy transformer. Kelsey Grammar was great as a bad guy. Long movie and you have to pay attention, especially if you haven't seen a Transformer movie before. (And who hasn't!)

The scenes in this movie were just spectacular and the welcome of Mark Walbergh into the series is great.
I'm glad he's in this movie and hopefully he keeps coming back and more intriguing.
Trust me if you like the Transformers movies, you'll love this one. The story keeps on building on itself. Definitely one of the more serious movies of the series.
John Goodman was great in this movie too and gave the movie a certain humor that was definitely needed during some of the more serious scenes.

I bought the special edition steel book case (only available at Best Buy) because I like to collect movie and video game memorabilia. It is a great looking case that I am extremely pleased with. Of course, the movie itself was a great addition to the Transformer family. I was a bit skeptical to begin with, considering the cast changes, but they did a fine job. If you like lots of action and superb CG, this movie is for you. Last I checked, Best Buy still had a few steel book cases left! Go get one!

Not the best of the movies.. Clearly seems they were going in a different direction with the storyline on this one. They tried waay to hard to sell this movie by casting Mark Wahlberg. Don't get me wrong.. Mark is an excellent actor in his own right but just seems so out-of-place in this movie it's almost humorous. It's like having "Ahnuld" do a commercial for a Mini Cooper while harping on how "roomy" it is.. And trying to sell that he is the father of Nicola Peltz, is laughable at best.. This naturally is what happens when you are unprepared for something to get this big and inevitably find yourself scrambling to piece together a massive series into a few movies. You end up with a monotonous gap between the beginning and end of the series, where the producer and director are struggling to piece everything together.. Picture a horse dragging it's rider behind, by the reigns and you get the idea of the direction this series is taking, lol.. So with any expectations of an academy award-winning plot and storyline to the side, we address the movie for what it is: Eye Candy :) So as long as you're not expecting an engaging plot or storyline you shouldn't be dissspointed. But forgo the steel book unless you just have to collect every steel book out there.
Audio is excellent.
Video is excellent.
Overall impression of Steel book:
Nice cover and that's about it!

Although the cast and narrative have changed from the first three Transformer films, this is a worthy addition to the collection. Michael Bay really knows how to make an action movie. Marc Wahlberg turns in a solid performance and does the supporting cast. Like the preceding Transformer films, this mixes action, drama and comedy in just the right amounts. The special effects are awesome. This is a fast paced, fun action movie so break out the popcorn and enjoy.

Seen lots of bad reviews on twitter about this move when it came out but decided to rent it first before buying it. I enjoyed the first three movies and didn't have high hopes for this one. Wow is all I can say. It was such a good movie I decided to buy it to add it to my collection. The story was good and the new characters were great. I feel this this is one of the best of the 4 movies, with it being as good as the first movie, if not better. If you're transformers fan, this is a must buy!

Good movie. If you've enjoyed any of the others, you'll definitely like this one. If you hated the others, there is no need for you to be considering this movie.
It was nice seeing the "Dinobots", and Drift looked great transforming into two different vehicles. One thing I didn't care for much was the way Galvatron and other Decepticons transformed in this movie. It was "too much" to me. Basic transformations would have done just fine like how its been during the past 3 movies.

I was reluctant to purchase the "Steelbook" because it was more expensive, but Best Buy was offering bonus My Best Buy points for preorder of the Steelbook and not the regular blu-ray, so I decided to go with this packaging. It's stiffer than a regular blu-ray case, but, somewhat surprisingly, it's not any bigger, which is the reason I wasn't going to go with this packaging. As for the movie itself, it's Transformers, either you like them, or you don't!
