Travis Strikes Again is a game that not everyone will fully enjoy. First of all it is an indie game, so if you’re expecting fast paced NMH action, you’ll be let down. While the beat em’ up gameplay is repetitive, it has some depth and great moments during boss battles.
The main thing that this game does well is it’s overall appreciation of games. To past Grasshopper titles and characters, recent indie games and retro games, it has it all.
There’s a lot of heart to this flawed game, plus you get the season pass with the physical edition!

It's ok. It's not the usual fare here from Travis. It's a top-down arcade type game instead of the usual 3rd person hack n slash. There's still hack n slash...but top-down. Lol. It's a decent game, but it ain't 1 or 2...or the upcoming 3rd game. If you're a serious No More Heroes fan tho this'll hold you over for a while. Give it a go.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes finally continues Travis' story from his last adventure in 2010. While this one is a bit of a smaller scope than the first two, they still manage to pack so much love and personality into this title as they did with the previous ones along with a fun story that really ties everything together. Gameplay is very simply, but with enough depth that becomes necessary to master on higher difficulties. There's also a strong emphasis on 2-player co-operative play that, while not required, adds a fair bit to your playthrough(s). Altogether, this is a fun game simply put and one that is well worth playing.

Finally after a decade "Travis Strikes Again". This spin off title to the No More Heroes franchise is an action packed adventure. Consisting of multiple retro inspired games. Complete with a 2-Player co-op mode and a season dlc pass which will add further play later throughout the year. This game is loads of fun , especially with a friend. Much of it plays out like an action adventure game with a classic top down perspective. As per usual with all Suda51's works the story, voice acting and of course gameplay is top notch quality. This is Definitely a Nintendo Switch must own title. And at only $40 it's quite a steal.

I've been a big fan of Suda51's work since Killer 7 and the original No More Heroes games; I've given other games a shot, such as Lollipop Chainsaw, Liberation Maiden, Sine Mora, and Let it Die.
To call this a No More Heroes game while not adopting the game play is just a minor blemish on an otherwise extremely playable title. There are tropes here and there (like charging the Beam Sword) that evoke classic NMH, but they're pretty superficial.
The real gripes I have is that the graphical style isn't great, and looks very dated; the music is OK but repetitious, and the levels are needlessly long, and aren't really designed with any pizzazz. But despite all that, it's still quite fun, the cutscenes are goofy and bizarre, and the aesthetic is classic No More Heroes with a mixture of 70's cinema, anime, and retro video games. It works well and is intentionally jarring all at once. It also makes me nostalgic for Killer 7.
Really, the name of the game should be Suda51 Strikes Again, because it really shares that disjointed, conflicting DNA that all of his games share.

First off, this game is probably not for everyone. However, if you have an open mind, played either of the previous two games, or like games with a crazy premise, then Travis Strikes Again is for you. The game consists of multiple mini-games, all of which are fun and don't last too long.
The main story is typical Suda 51 craziness with great humor, and it is self aware. Definitely a must-own for any Switch owner looking for something a little different.

This game are same humor and fun of a no more hero’s game, but it is not a core game. All this does is make me want a new one. I didn’t miss Travis touchdown, it only there weren’t so many sword wielders in smash. This isn’t he game we want, it’s the game we need I renew interest in the franchise. Fun gameplay if not a bit repetive. Worth it at 40

This is not No More Heroes 3, but it is a fun short hack and slash with Suda 51 weirdness. If you are looking for a complex action game, this not the game you want, but if you want a fun and short game with a lot humor, this is the game for you

I couldn't stand the original controls for this game on the Wii. The motion controls just weren't up to par. On the switch they have really fixed those problems. The story is a typical crazy suda51 storyline. Funny and over the top. Boss battles are challenging but fun. Definitely worth the price.

This game is not a game I could recommend to just anyone, that doesn't mean it's bad, you just have to approach it with a specific mindset to get the most out of it. If that mindset is being an adoring fan of Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture's previous work, then you'll probably love the game and all of its wackiness.
If you have no idea who/what Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture is, then consider a few things before purchasing. First off, I hope you have a big TV, because at many points during the action, the camera perspective will be so zoomed out from the characters that it can be hard to distinguish what's going on. Second, hopefully you have someone you can enjoy the game with in local cooperative multiplayer, as there's more fun to be had that way in choosing how to handle certain combat situations and deciding who gets to use what special abilities and so on. Lastly, you're probably not going to enjoy the story. It's a direct continuation from the first two 'No More Heroes' games, there's plenty of references to other games as well, and meta-references to video games as a whole. The narrative is mostly presented in lengthy sections of text, some of which are displayed in a deliberately 'old-school' computer graphics style with pixelated fonts and a green-text/black-background aesthetic that can be very harsh on the eyes.
If you can stomach that, there's some pretty solid arcade style action underneath all that that's worth playing around with.

The game play itself is pretty straight forward, but the story gets back into the deep nuances of what it means to be a hero that NMH1 touched upon.

Travis Touchdown returns in a game set between No More Heroes 1 and 2. Fans of previous games will notice that the same style and flavor suda51 games are known for is still there. While a departure from the traditional game style of previous No More Hero games, it brings interesting concepts of the video game worlds Travis must take place in revolving around retro games like Hotline Miami (also another suda51 game is referenced as a game world location). Great example of an indie title that also includes a season pass for the game when buying the physical version.

I knew going in that this game is NOT No More Heroes 3, nor does it mimic that gameplay style. Its an arcade style 2D game that borders on the repeative side but the writing and boss fights are still that NMH style. I managed to get this game for around $25 with rewards and Gamers Club.
Overall wait for a price drop. Its an ok game but its not a $40 game.

The first two games in this series, originally on the wii, are a blast. While this game is completely different game play than those, it does a good job of contributing to the story. Meaning it is not the same slashing with a motion controller gameplay. Rather, it is more of a isometric top down hack and slasher game using the typical button presses, but still fun. I managed to pick this up on a really good sale, so it was a great purchase.

One of the Switch's coolest looking games. The controls are super easy so you can play comfortably on the go or on the dock. Haven't played co-op yet, but I'm sure it is great too.

While it isn’t like No More Heroes, it’s still a fun game featuring the games protagonist Travis Touchdown. Each level plays differently, for example one level might be a side scroller/platform we and another is an isometric top down beat em up. It’s great for the variety. Not only that but if you buy the physical copy, you get the season pass for free. So in my opinion, it’s completely worth it.
