Been using trend micro for a decade. No problems with the product itself. Only real issue is trend submarkets different flavors of the same product, with different activation keys. I buy the least expensive flavor each summer. I can't cross activate though, have to uninstall the app old flavor and install the new flavor each time. Their installation container at least is programmed to handle that though

Best Buy please let customers, and your employees and any person that works for your company know that renewals are now for only ONE year. It is very sad think I called, waited and spoke with eleven of your employees, and only the twelfth (12) person told me that renewals are for ONLY one year. Have a great day.

have an old computer but a new phone and i pad. thought i would of been able to load the software with just the new i pad. i just waisted my money

I purchased this for my MacBook and for my daughter’s MacBook and iPad. I love how we have never had problems with it.

This software is constantly working for you, and that's not a good thing. My brand-new Windows PC seemed to never settle down - fan always running high, always hot, always busy. After a few weeks, I got tired of this, and started looking for the reason - Windows 10 can't be THAT bad ! And I found the reason in the task list. This software is constantly doing something, 24 hours a day. Why? That is not how antivirus is supposed to work. After the initial securing of the machine, it should become invisible, not suck up a steady 20% of the CPU. I uninstalled Trend Micro, and immediately the machine settled down. I installed another anti-virus, and the machine remains normal. Worse, I installed Trend Micro on a fairly new Mac Mini, and it brought it to its knees - overheating, and finally freezing. I uninstalled it there, and the Mini went back to normal. I came to the conclusion that this software clobbers your PC, and removed it from another Mac just on principle. If the salesman offers you this software cheap with a new machine, just say no. I don't care about settings or anything else. Any software that is this bad right out of the box - I do not want. Period.

Before purchasing this antivirus software, I talked to Skye from Best Buy online to make sure this would work on my chromebook, which she said it would. I tried all afternoon to figure out how to change the serial number on my previously cancelled (by Stephen H. from Best Buy) subscription, and finally just downloaded the app via Google Play. I was able to enter the serial number that way, and logged onto my Trend Micro account via the internet. Upon checking my account, I noticed that my old software could be used on Mac, Windows, IOS, mobile AND Chromebooks. I then looked at the subscription I had just made (recommended by Skye) and it only said Mac, Windows, and mobile. I then called Best Buy and was on hold for 30 minutes when I finally got in contact with someone (Agent Adrienne) and asked if using the app antivirus was the same as using the antivirus for Chromebooks, to which she replied "yes." Now, browsing the web, I see a grey shield with an orange exclamation point that says "Web Threat Protection Not Activated" when I used to have a green shield there. I'm very skeptical as to whether the mobile version will protect my Chromebook the same as the version that was made for Chromebooks. I wouldn't be in this situation if Stephen H. listened to me, and if Skye had told me the correct information about this item. Too bad there is no refunds for this item. I've been repeatedly disappointed by Best Buy, (3 times in one day), and will no longer be making purchases from them. I hope I don't get any viruses.
