As an avid sound lover, and someone who has invested thousands of dollars into sound systems, headphones, and headsets, I expect nothing but the best when it comes to sound. With that being said, I have always been a fan of Turtle Beach headsets as they have always (at least every pair I've owned) had great, balanced sound. I was looking to replace an older set of Turtle Beaches (After having them for almost four years), and upon reading reviews and product descriptions, I decided I would give these a try.
Upon putting these on, I noticed they were extremely comfortable and did not put pressure on my glasses at all. They had good weight to them, not too heavy on the head, and not too cheap feeling in the hand. However, as soon as I plugged them into my controller, I began to notice the sound was much lower than my older pair of Turtle Beaches (XO Four), oh well I thought, I can always raise the volume through Xbox itself. Once I booted up a game, the loading menu's sounded awful. The sound was so flat that it began to make me feel disoriented. These headsets only seem to thrive in the high's. The mid's are muffled and barely noticeable, and the low's are absolutely non-existent. Just to be sure that it wasn't my Xbox, I took the headset and plugged it directly to my iPhone, and began shuffling songs. Sure enough each song sounded flat with no depth whatsoever.
Turtle Beach offers a mixer that you fan buy for another $200. Who would want to and why should you pay $400+ to have an enjoyable sound experience? My $80 Turtle Beach XO Fours sound perfect compared to this headset.
If you place a high priority on accurate, balanced, and rich sound, PLEASE do not buy these. I would recommend the Turtle Beach XO Four headset, as they are light, comfortable, and sound great, with nice high's, mid's, and low's.

I got these to replace my Turtle Beach XO4s thinking the sound would be better. First I will say they are the most comfortable headset I’ve ever worn. But this headset clearly was not made for consoles. Very low volume for consoles. When plugged into the controller, the highest volume is still not very loud and the sound quality in general is not impressive(minimal Bass, even with the audio adapter) I expected more for $200. Due to high impedience, These require an amplifier to really bring out good sound. I highly recommend the HyperX Cloud Revolver S. Just got them a week ago when I exchanged these and they are better in every way.

I bought my husband wireless headphones for Christmas not realizing that his ears would start hurting. So we returned them and went with this pair EVEN THOUGH it is wired because they felt so good on his ears. They are so comfortable he has even fallen asleep while playing with them on. Now THAT is comfort. :)

I picked these because I had used some quality TB headsets with my 360. When I tried them on in store, they were very comfortable. I also like that they're wired to the controller, and do not need to be directly connected to the Xbox.

I am using this headset with an XBox. The gaming sound is excellent and the voice quality is top notch. You can easily control split between game and voice on the XBox and it works great. First headset where I am not causing feedback on the other side and now they can hear me perfectly.

Great headphones great surround sound. The only bad thing is when you don't want to use them you have to unplug it from the PS4 to hear the TV. Needs an off switch bad. Maybe there next model

Coming from Astro A50s the only negative I have is that they aren't wireless. But wireless has its negative pitfalls as well. This is the best headset I have ever used, important note: having the mix amp is a cool feature but isn't needed for the headset to still be great.

These headphones are with the money only if you can afford the $150 T.A.C AMP to go along with it. You will need this to get the full potential out of them. Ended up settling on the TB 700s.

These are by far the most comfortable headset I own. The only down side is that you have to purchase the audio controller (Astro has the mix amp included) separately to fully use them to their potential.

This headset is amazing. Well worth the money spent. I previously bought a cheap Microsoft brand headset. This TB blows away the competition. Wish I had bought this first. Clear, crisp sound. Had to buy the adapter for Xbox for mic monitoring, also well worth it.
