The guys did a good job installing our TV. I was disappointed that they were unable to program my cable remote to my Sonny TV. I have had several issues with my remote causing the TV to say the channels are not installed.

In addition to television setup, our order also included unhooking and removing the old TV for recycling. Somebody forgot to tell the Geek Squad installers (2) that they had to do this or something as I had to dig out my order form and show him the entry before they agreed to do it. However, that didn't solve the problem either as one of them "just had back surgery" and couldn't lift anything heavy. They would need to contact Best Buy "moving people" who would contact me the next day to remove the old television set. The next day rolled around and nobody called or showed up. The set up process amounted to a series of rapidly changing screens and lots of queries as to whether or not I had any questions. I didn't know what he was doing and didn't know what questions to ask not being real tech smart. So out the door they went saying call me anytime if you need help. The onboard user's manual isn't all that great either. Tired after three days of the old television sitting on the floor, called Best Buy in an attempt to find out when their "moving people" would be showing up. First ended up talking with someone who put us on hold and never did return to answer the inquiry. Then another time I think it was Atlanta at some Geek Squad thing and finally a guy that seemed to know what he was talking about. Long story short, seven days went by and numerous phone calls were made before no less than three Geek Squad persons showed up one of which was a regional supervisor no less. They couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. The supervisor explained the breakdown and was more than willing to make things right offering any assistance we might need. They also covered the setup procedures again which helped with understanding the basic TV operation. I think, in the long run, it just would have been much simpler if I'd have opted to stumble through the setup on my own.

I only got this as longer-term peace of mind. The Geek squad did not deliver or set up this TV (but I got a discount on the longer coverage period for buying this) so I don't know how the service would be..

Because our satellite equipment needed to be upgraded, there was no input device set up. The fee ($49.99) we paid was apparently for taking the TV out of the box and putting the stand on it.

The TV is fine so far with a crisp clear picture. First delivery was two hours late with no phone call. Sad, a phone call would have alleviated a lot of problems. The second time they came back to unbox the item. The appointment was fine on timing and I did receive a phone call saying they were on their way. They unboxed the TV and attached the stand and put it on the table. They did not take all the plastic off the TV and I plugged it in. Should have had the Geek Squad involved.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. Although the initial delivery proved to be a bit of a disappointment, I would hope that all of our customers have a great shopping experience from purchase to delivery. IF you have any concerns about the television, I would recommend contacting 1-800-GEEKSQUAD. Have a great day.

Geek Squad? Really!?

I recently purchased a Sony XBR65X930E ($3K + tax) and also purchased Best Buy's Basic Setup (one source). Because the UHD TV is so heavy, I didn't want to unbox this with my wife, so I purchased Best Buy's Basic Set Up. First of all, I can't believe the guys who deliver the TV don't take it out of the box and plug it in to see if it works! How ridiculous is that for a fairly expensive TV! Since I'm familiar with how to connect everything, I really just needed to have them take it out of the box and put it on my credenza, which is why I purchased the Basic Setup.
All I can say is that I hope the guys who came to do the Basic Setup WEREN'T really from Geek Squad (although my receipt says they should have been). If they were, Best Buy's Geek Squad is in BIG trouble. These guys didn't have a clue!
It was a good thing I was watching them, because they were about to reach into the box to lift the TV out, instead of taking the retaining clips out and lifting the box off! Good grief.
After they put it on the stand (thank goodness I had already assembled that!), they started to walk out. No plug in to see if it works? No setting up one source? What gives. I told them to hang on while I plugged it in to be sure it worked. They actually looked ticked that they had to wait for me to plug it in! Couldn't believe it.
Well, all that said, I'm going to get a refund for that totally incompetent service. I could have asked a neighbor to help me and gotten more help!
I'm totally disappointed in Best Buy over this.

The team were late in arriving (although I had an hour's notice) and seemed to be keen to leave as soon as possible. They set up the television and made sure it worked on cable, but did not explain how to use the tv. I did not hold them up to explain as I expected there would be an Instruction book Shame, that was almost useless. I called Best Buy to ask if there were better instructions, but they did not understand what I was asking, so I gave up.

While this service spared me the hassle of lugging my new beast of a TV home, the set-up was simple, & the service technicians were not at all friendly or open to questions. In the future I'd spare myself the rudeness & cart it home myself. To be fair, however, the deal I got included the cost of disposing my old 200 pound fossil of a TV for free -- reducing the true cost to $30. If you run into this deal & find yourself under similar circumstances, I'd jump on it.

The setup went well. However, the gentlemen failed to program the remote control volume for the tv on the cable remote and didn't leave the tv manual.

Set the delivery time for the afternoon 12 -4 4 hour windows are annoying too much time to wait around. Problem being had an appt at 5:30 and thank goodness my husband was able to be home to accept delivery well past 4, time of arrival sometime after 5:30. No phone call to let me know tat the installers were running late. Guess next time that I have the Geek Squad delivering a TV , I will make it the 1st appt of the day.

Not much to say here. I would never have been able to haul the 65 inch TV into my house alone, so I had them do the heavy lifting.

they took it out of the box turned tv on and that was it. they don't show you how to use it. they wouldn't even take the box it came in ( I didn't what the world to know what I had bought} no hand book came with it so I had to call geek squad to learn how to use the tv. paid 50$ for basic set up and 50$ for delivery ended up paying 100$ for geek squad to come out should have done that in the beginning.
