I can only comment on the remastered blu ray disc that's included with this edition since I don't have a 4k set up yet. Simply put, this is the best Unforgiven has ever looked on standard Blu-ray. Deep deep blacks and just plain stunning details and color. I imagine the 4k Ultra HD looks even better, but for now I am highly pleased with the new remastered blu ray of this classic film.

Unforgiven is listed as one of the top 100 films of the American Film Institute! Clint Eastwood did an outstanding job of Directing & Acting. He dedicated this movie to his mentors Don Siegel and Sergio Leone. Unforgiven (1992) won 4 Academy Awards, the storyline & scenery were amazing along with the great supporting acting roles of Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, Richard Harris, etc.

If you enjoy this movie, you're going to love the new remaster. Especially this 4K Ultra HD which allows more image detail than ever before with lossless audio. As far as the film itself goes, wow, just wow. One of Clint's best and the ultimate western swan song for a film legend. Yes the price was a little high, but for a film of this caliber I had no problem pullin' the trigger.

Unforgiven is a 1992 American western film written by David Webb Peoples. The film portrays William Munny, an aging outlaw and killer who takes on one more job years after he had turned to farming. A dark Western that deals frankly with the uglier aspects of violence and how complicated truths are distorted into simplistic myths about the Old West, it stars Eastwood in the lead role, with Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman and Richard Harris. Eastwood stated that the film would be his last Western for fear of repeating himself or imitating someone else's work. Could use with a newer remaster, video codec, and the audio being lossless. But it's great for now.

This academy award winning western directed by and starring Clint Eastwood gets an award winning restoration. Unforgiven has probably never looked or sounded better. While the violence and subject matter may be unsettling for some, those that have this movie in their collection will probably want to upgrade it, especially while Best Buy has it on sale.

Clint Eastwood's "Unforgiven" is a masterpiece that marks the end of his western career. A great movie at a great price. For those interested, this DVD does also include a commentary track from Historian Richard Schickel, but that is really the only notable bonus feature.

Only Clint Eastwood would dare to resurrect a dead genre and make it successful. While it thankfully did not spawn a resurgence of the genre (which could have resulted in unwatchable films from less talented directors), it provided a template for realistic westerns for sophisticated audiences without giving up the best of the John Ford traditions.

I somehow did not own a copy of this film but watched it regularly on HBO etc. I was pleasantly surprised with the Eastwood on Eastwood feature. Even though it was far out of date by this point it was cool to find out more about his career and thoughts on his acting and directing. This film is a masterpiece of the Western genre.

Undoubtedly Clint Eastwood's best film, and an all time classic. While a lot of 4k upgrade discs need to be investigated before making he jump due to mastering issues and such, This classic has been given the full treatment. It's absolutely worth the dip for those hoping to own the best possible version for presentation.

4K quality is great for an older film. One of the best Westerns. The blu-ray in this set is, aside from the 4K quality, a copy in terms of content and settings from the 4K disc (so the same language/audio selections on the 4K are available on the blu-ray).

This movie has it all. Action Introspection Acceptance of who one is Redemption Revenge Bravely facing the horrible situation A bad person doing good things. It is probably at the top of most people's western movie list. But it is very good outside of that thin genre category. So good it should be added it to any collection.

This is one of Clint Eastwood's best movies with a great cast and story. Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman are wonderful. I can see why Gene Hackman won his 2nd Oscar and why the movie won 4 Oscars altogether. I highly recommend this movie whether you are a fan of the Western or not. It looks great on 4K transfer.

I was skeptical about this new format called 4K Ultra HD but when I first saw this in 4K I was blown away! The detail and the clarity versus the old blu-ray is so amazing its like watching a new movie made today. If you get a chance to see this movie in 4K I recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Just one of the better westerns ever made. Glad that Clint brought the classic western to new generations that missed the man with no name series. Recommended

I've been a fan of Clint Eastwood films ever since I saw BIRD. That film might not be his most famous or liked, I believe UNFORGIVEN is. I am glad that Best Buy had the 4K version of this masterpiece at an incredible price during the Holidays. Even if you didn't get the discount, you should own this version.

One of Clints great movies and one for which he won an Oscar for along win Morgan Freeman. Now in 4K with the best picture and sound. This is the version to get. Beautiful landscapes and cinematography make this gorgeous to watch with fine acting all in a westerm. They just dont make them like this anymore

Well acted, hard, gritty movie about a reformed gunslinger pulled back to his old lifestyle by a ruthless sheriff, Little Bill (Gene Hackman), Also has Morgan Freeman.

One of my favorite films and a must see Western for any fan of the genre. This UHD Blu Ray is completely faithful to the original film. The picture is absolutely beautiful, one of the best UHD's I own. Definitely pick up if you enjoy the film and are looking to own it!

Unforgiven is one of my favorite western genre films of all time. And, Clint Eastwood is my favorite actor in westerns. That said, all of the above was made even better by the superior audio and visual reproduction that only 4K can currently achieve (at least in America).

This western is fantastic. One of the all time greats of the genre, IMHO, with fantastic acting, direction, and story. This 4K rendering is the best picture you will ever see with this movie and, if you are a fan with a 4K set, it is the only way to watch it. Highly recommended!
