this is a review of the Bluray not the movie.... Now this is important if you have a copy of this movie and the UPC is not yellow return it because it was recalled by Paramount (find out why yourself) now this is a beautiful way to celebrate the best Trek Movie Ever The Art is great with the exception that Uhura is not on the cover Art very insulting
the restored directors cut is great this is the way it should have been from the beginning. The sound picture are all a solid A
I would of preferred a Steelbook but ....

Finally the "Director's Cut" and blue ray version of "STII: TWK" that we've been passively waiting on. Actually, this was the only ST dvd I never bought because it was my least favorite, However, this edition fully recaptures the essence of RM's tragic Greek hero's fall from self-exultation and hubris during his vindictive quest for Kirk's imaginary symbolic and mythical white whale. Return to STII and partake!

Still the Best of the Star Trek Movies

Star Trek II remains my favorite simply for the conflict between Kirk and Kahn and Kirk's cat and mouse strategy to defeat him. The director's cut scenes add some additional insight, and don't seem to slow the overall pace. For a movie that is nearly 35 years old, the sound and picture quality are very good. If you intend to buy, be sure to pick up the version with the yellow bar code on the back. This indicates the revised release that corrected some sound and picture issues of the original release.

Wrath of Khan still holds up to me as the best Star Trek movie made to date. The new Blu-Ray is a great way to enjoy the James Horner score and the movie looks great! The special features were a nice retrospective especially the insight by director Nicholas Meyer. I wish they had more interviews from the original cast, but a nice movie to add to the collection.
And just remember ladies and gentlemen, those Khan pecks are real and all the great Ricardo Montalban!

What can I say, fun, fun, fun waited years for a better bluray transfer of this movie and you won't be disappointed. Colors, contrast, sharpness all look great. I've owned the VHS, laserdisc, DVD and this one looks the best. But be careful there was an initial run of blurays that were defective. Look for the barcode on the back that's colored yellow, this is the fixed version, the white barcode were the defective blurays. Khhhhhhhaaaannnnn!!!!!

This extended cut of this classic Trek/Sci-Fi film is everything it was supposed to be compared to the theatrical cut...so much more has been fleshed out in this version that makes the entire experience feel truly full and complete. If you are a Trek fan and have never seen this version of Wrath of Khan before you MUST check this version out. It is the definitive cut and, once you see this one, you'll never wanna go back to the theatrical cut.

the best of the star trek movie films, this one has it all- drama, comedy and action! The best qualities of star trek about a better tomorrow and what real sacrifices real friends make for each other. having the extended director's cut really means something on this film. too many studios now capitalize of the phrase "director's cut" to sell a product but here it really makes a difference. if you love movies you'll love this version.

This is a great release of this classic movie, but be sure it has a yellow bar code instead of a white one. The white ones are from the first pressings, which had a technical issue. All copies with a yellow bar code are the reissued version with the technical error fixed.

I am a Trekkie and grew up watching the original Star Trek series. I try to collect all Star Trek series and movies so when I saw the “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan: steelbook edition”, I had to get it for my collection. Friends have said this movie was the best of the series, but I liked the “Voyage Home” the best. Hopefully they will come out with the rest of the Star Trek movies in steelbook to complete my collection.

This by far is the best in the classic Star Trek film collection. It stars, of course the late great Ricardo Montlebon, as the titular character of Khan, the super human villain from an story done within the first series of Star Trek. Without giving to much away, Khan seeks revenge on our dear Captain Kirk, and sets in motion an adventure like you have never seen. Pick this up if your a Trekkie..

The Best Star Trek Movie

This is by far the best star trek movie with the original cast members of the sixties. It continues the story of Khan from the 1st season of the original series. The end of the movie is very emotional as we see the true dedication Spock has for his fellow crew members as the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the one. A must see movie for the true Star Trek fan.

If you haven't seen this staple of Star Trek and sci-fi as a whole, see it right away. The themes that it presents are many, and as each year goes by, they resonate more and more in my life. As for the disc itself, the work done to restore the image and sound are excellent. However, there is a defect on the disc; a replacement program has already been announced and is underway. If your package does not have a yellow UPC code, then you have a defective disc.
Overall a great buy, but wait for the updated discs.

The Directors' Cut was re-mastered well & looked great! Loved all the extras especially the ones which went through the process of all the major changes to the franchise between the 1st film & this one. The director was very candid on the process as well as provided some excellent insights on the film's creation. Additionally, the new cover is awesome!

Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan is one of the best in the Star Trek movie series. Ricardo Montalban played the Khan role very well. Spock's death at the end of the movie was done well and opened up the door for the sequel - Star Trek III - The Search for Spock. It also has a ton of extras about the making of the film. Very interesting. Is in Blu-ray - Picture and sound are great.

This is the best of the original cast Star Trek movies in my opinion. Khan is my favorite villain from the TV series and Ricardo Montalban turns in a great performance. The video and audio quality is good and there are two commentaries. A few extra special features would have been nice but overall it is great.

BEYOND AMAZING! First of all this is a classic. Now seeing this re rendered bluRay version I'm SHOCKED! It looks as if it was filmed in 2016 as well the story line holds up. It's very very good. Every movie buff should have this in their collection. You don't have to live Star Trek to enjoy this film!

This is one of the greatest Star Trek films ever. I believe it is only like 3 extra minutes of footage on this director's cut and then to extension of scenes. The extras are good with a lot of knowledge of behind-the-scenes stuff. I recommend buying if you don't already have it on blu-ray.

Awesome slipcover and 50th anniversary wrap! My first venture into blu-ray for the original big screen movies. Great pic, not at the re-boot level but still quite the upgrade from my original DVD. Overall, the packaging, video quality and price makes this an excellent rating.

This is a great bluray release as it includes the Director's Cut, the Theatrical cut, and movie cash to see Star Trek Beyond. If you previously owned another version of this movie on bluray or any format, and you are a fan of this movie, I would recommend to pick this up.
