Absolutely love the soud of these headphones! Amazing...I've owned Beats, Sony's, and Bose and for the price...cant be beat! One problem...have owned several pairs, and the only issue has been that they stop holding a charge so desperately get warranty. Amazing headphones!!!

Love these headphones and they sound wonderful- good quality and the case is a really nice travelling case which protects them in the airports I frequent. The only issue I have is that they do not come with a wire for an IPhone and it cost an extra $100- and it promptly snapped off a week after the warranty expired so will not buy that again.

In the past 5 years I've had 4 main pairs of headphones, and 3 were made by v-Moda. My first pair of their headphones was a wired pair, which I gave to my girlfriend when I got my second pair, the Crossfade 2. Recently those fell while I was charging them, and one of the detail pieces cracked, so I upgraded to the codex edition, and I'm enjoying them a lot. There's really no going wrong with V-Moda

Sound quality is the ultimate deliverable for headphones and is the one aspect where the Crossfade 2 excels, especially when used wired. The clarity, crispness, and detail are all absolutely excellent. Bass is somewhat pronounced, but not enough to overwhelm the mids and treble. The sound quality using bluetooth is excellent, and wired is even better. The wired connection bypasses all the codex processing and connects directly to the drivers. I was surprised that the difference was detectable.
Build quality is very good, and the headphones should be plenty durable. The earpads are replaceable (although not easily) which is good because I suspect a number of purchasers will opt for the XL earpads. The standard earpads are rather small. Comfort is so-so, I managed to go about an hour max before I had to take them off and take a break, partly due to the weight and partly due to the pressure on the side of my head. These just felt heavy on my head, especially when used as wired headphones.
The controls are located on the right earphone, are logical and well differentiated, probably the best set of controls I've experienced on a headset. I don't understand why so many headphone makers insist on tiny, flat, nearly identical buttons, or worse, touch sensitive controls. The buttons are large, easy to find, and simple to use.
The problem with the Crossfade 2 headphones is all the features that it is missing, and these are rather numerous in this price category. The specifications are non-existent for the bluetooth version or the ipx (moisture resistance) ratings. I would guess the bluetooth is either 3.0 or 4.0, but a bit antiquated. The documentation doesn't list the number of pairings it supports, but implies that it can support only two, which is rather weak. Although there are 'moisture vents' in the case, I would not use these for serious workouts. There is no claim of 'sweat proof' or 'sweat resistant'.
The 'Passive Noise Cancellation' really means that the earpads seal out external sounds. There is no means to 'tune' the noise cancellation to allow sounds like local conversations or the horn of the car that almost hit you. There is no app to provide controls, or tune the equalization curve, or to update the firmware. There is no auto power off timer or auto pause when the headphones are removed. The usb port is a charging port only, it can't be used as a data/audio connection.
Call audio was quite good and sounds in both ears, but the microphone has no noise cancellation and picks up everything. Be prepared to go find a quiet, wind free corner to have an intelligible conversation. This also means that if you're gaming at home, you're probably good, but if you're gaming in a group (friends, tournament), chat will be a problem.
I'm giving the Crossfade 2s four stars largely due to the sonic performance, which is absolutely top of the line. If you're looking for great sounding wired headphones that can be used with bluetooth devices occasionally, you should definitely consider the V-Moda Crossfade 2s.

My go to for all genres of music. I love these headphones! I find myself switching from other headphones to use the v-moda’s. Female vocals sound really smooth. My only complaint is I always have to go into the settings to connect to my iPhone. Once connected no problem with drops. Listening wired through one of my amps bring out the best sound.

This is my second pair. The first pair I got out to my truck still in the parking lot and the right channel didn't work. They didn't have anymore. Got another pair at another Best Buy and they worked. The sound is outstanding. Design factors not so much. I opened up the case one time and went to pick them up and somehow one of the headphones managed to twist and it came off the band. Weird. I put it back on and it has happened again but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Oh and that first pair I called V Moda customer service thinking they would be apologetic and say something like "hey sorry that happened to you we want to make it right." Instead I got " go return them and get another pair" Great sound but not impressed overall.

I own a pair of V-Moda earbuds, and I don't care for them. I took a chance on their over earphones, and I'm delighted at the sound. It's really nice and rich, a pleasant surprise.
One small point. After wearing these for more than a couple of hours, my head and jaw ache. Noticeably.
Still, worth the price, worth considering.

I absolutely love these headphones, the sound on these are amazing. Yes they don’t have a bunch of features on them so if that’s what you’re looking for these might not cut it, but if you want great sound and build quality you might just need to take these out for a spin

Feels great and the built quality is awesome. My only complaint is that the cups are kind of small so they rest on my ears like a ear on style rather than over. It’s okay for shot sessions but it bothers my ears after some time.

This is my fourth pair of V-Moda head phones. I have more expensive brand head phones as well, that did not last as long or sound as good. Plus their warranty is pretty tight and their service is exceptional!

These sound great. I own many pairs of headphones and in the $200 to $600 price point these are excellent. I only had two issues these were more my fault than the headphones fault. My first mistake was thinking that even though these weren’t noise cancellation headphones I thought that the over the ear design would block out at least some noise and they block out very little noise on a Bart train.
I second issue is just that these headphones are not meant for anyone with larger ears. I think they sound good have a good bass response without being over bearing on the bass and a good overall sound but the cups are on the smaller side.

This would be my second V moda cross fade. When it arrived I noticed the volume up button didn’t click like the other buttons. I also noticed that after a day of charge easily, it still would not say it was full charged. Sound quality is ok, enough bass, ok meds and highs. To be fair I am comparing sound quality to planar headphones. Compared to the the original crossfade, the crossfade 2 codex besides folding shut didn’t notice much difference in sound. They are sturdy headphones though.

These are my first pair of V-MODA headphones, and I must say the Crossfade 2 Wireless Codex Over-the-Ear-Headphones have surpassed my expectations in every area. The V-Moda crossfade 2 wireless headphones set a new standard for over-the-ear headphones.
AUDIO-
The sound quality is simply amazing. I hear every note, every string, every key, all coupled with consuming bass that generates a listening experience like none other.
High tones sounds are crisp and clean. No feedback or clipping at loud volumes. One of most noticeable audio features is the clean delivery of lyrics while playing your music. Especially at high volumes. I can hear every word during any variety of songs I've played while simultaneously experiencing the full depth of sound provided by the instruments. It's like being at a concert each time I put them on.
The sound quality extends far beyond music. I have watched movies with these headphones and played games on HD consoles with them as well. The experience is nothing short of amazing.
VERSATILTY-
The V-Moda Crossfade 2 headphones offer versatility that accentuate the satisfaction you feel when using them. Thanks to the bluetooth compatibility, I can link these headphones to my 4K television and personalize my listening experience without sacrificing sound quality. Movies sound superb. It's like being in a High Definition theater.
I can of course pair the headphones wirelessly with my mobile devices and computer, which is perfect for flights/extended car rides. I can also use the V-Moda Crossfade 2 headphones with my favorite gaming consoles and take my gaming experience to the next level. I play a lot of action games (shooters, thrillers, flight simulators, drivers, etc.) and these headphones really bring the gameplay to life. With the rich sounds provided by these headphones, I feel like I'm in the game. I can hear footsteps, wood boards/planks bending, water dripping, tires screeching like never before.
BATTERY LIFE-
The battery life is good for me. 14+ hrs is more than I would ever need to use the headphones in a single session. I am very impressed with the sound quality when operating on battery power. I used them for about 6 hrs at approximately 75% of the volume capacity of my laptop and the audio quality remained stellar throughout that entire time.
COMFORT-
The V-Moda Crossfade 2 headphones are probably the most comfortable over-the-ear headphones I've ever used. 6hrs of continued use during a trip and my ears where not uncomfortable at any point during or following the time of use.
The adjustment settings are firmly secured at each notch. This is perfect because I do not have to constantly re-adjust the over-the-ear slider.
I use these headphones for phone calls and online work meetings. The call quality is perfect. Everyone says my voice comes through clearly and I can hear the participants clearly. The controls on the headset works pretty well. It's easy to adjust volume and answer calls. The headphones are easy to sync with your devices. The structure of the headphones is solid. The carrying case makes it really easy to pack and transport your headphones while keeping them protected from scratches.
Overall, I am very happy with the V-Moda Crossfade 2 wireless headphones. I would definitely recommend these to everyone.
