Clear 4K rear footage with excellent night vision

I’ve been using the Vantrue S1 Pro Max and overall it has been a solid dual dashcam system. The 4K quality, especially from the rear camera, is impressive. At night, both the front and rear cameras capture license plates very clearly (see my photos), which is one of the most important features for me. This could be extremely helpful in situations like a rear-end collision where the other driver disputes what happened.
The parking mode is also quite sensitive and does a good job recording activity around the vehicle when parked. The built-in GPS and speed recording are useful additional features that can provide strong supporting evidence in the event of an accident or even if there is ever a traffic stop.
Setup was straightforward and did not take much time. Another nice bonus is that the charging port can still be used to charge a phone, which is convenient since I usually have multiple devices connected in the car.
One small unexpected benefit is that the included sticker can also help cover a tiny dent or mark near the door area while also reminding nearby drivers and passengers to be careful when opening their doors.

Amazing image clarity and resolution! Dual IMX678 sensors with 4k and HDR front and back! This is currently the best sensor for dash-cams. I don’t think they stretch it well enough.
The 5g WiFi is fast to connect. The app is easy to use, responsive and snappy. The 2in screen on the front camera is IPS, bright, vivid and easy to read during day and night. However it is not touch sensitive. I actually prefer the hard buttons operation, they are much easier to press. HDR is absolutely necessary during the night to be able to read license plates.
I’d recommend adding a 40mm cpl filter (can be any brand) to the front camera to get rid of the reflections from the windshield. You’d lose a bit of light but this sensor is so light sensitive you’d get much cleaner image for around $15.

The Vantrue S1 Pro Max stands out with genuine 4K on both front and rear cameras, unlike most dash cams that downgrade the rear camera. The clarity is excellent, making plates easy to read day or night with STARVIS 2 and HDR. Fast WiFi, GPS, and solid parking mode make it a complete package. If you want top-tier quality on both ends, this is an easy 5-star choice.
