Good For A Back up phone

I give it 4 stars because it's an ok phone, but for the price I personally wouldn't invest on it. Samsung phones are cheaper and have better screen resistance. If the original price for this phone was $20 it would be totally worth it. But for $80 it's a rip off. The screen breaks on the first and only drop, even with a screen protector AND case. And if you call Motorola to fix the device, they don't offer to fix it they only offer to replace it, and they will replace it for $70, when the phone itself costs $79.99. Absurd. The internal memory is 16gb and supposedly allows expandable storage, but motorola made it impossible to move your pictures or files to the External storage, it forces all files, Photos and apps to be stored into the internal storage of the phone. Even if you set your sd card as internal storage the phone doesnt transfer your desired files/apps/photos to the sd card. No matter how many different ways you try. So your phone memory fills up pretty fast and then slows down the phone a lot, making the phone shut down constantly on you, by restarting itself like 5 times back to back within 2 minutes. All you can do is sit and stare at the phone until it's done restarting.

Had to change carriers from VM (which BB doesn't carry anymore) over to Verizon. Once home, the phone is great. But our experience with the rep left a lot to be desired. Normally we've had excellent service from knowledgeable reps but on our last visit it was anything but. Rep seemed more interested in their text msgs than our service. Had to go back a 2nd time to get all my wife's contacts and photos transferred. Told again they were all there. Got home and only about half and all my contacts fromy phone, and not my wife's phone were transferred. Rep had a bad time with our email address, google account, FB, the works. Didn't seem interested or even knowledgeable about how to make it work. My wife's oldest son came over and got her phone photos totally updated and my wife took her old phone and put in manually all her own contacts. Maybe it was the age difference, maybe the rep just wasn't trained well enough. Like I said, good phone, bad experience. Recommend phone, but be careful with whom you work with. If they don't seem to care, get somebody else.

I just purchased one of these at a big discount. I already had a Verizon Prepaid Moto E4 from a couple of years ago and figured this would be a cheap upgrade. Most aspects look very similar to the E4. Same memory and storage, slightly newer android (8.0), slightly bigger screen but no longer has a fingerprint reader. I know this is a bottom end budget phone and it suits my purpose but its a little disappointing that the Moto E5 is so similar to the Moto E4 and the fingerprint reader which was a major plus for me has been removed on the newer model. The phone is carrier locked but I had no issues using this with my regular Verizon sim.

Old Phone wouldn't recharge, had 10% battery left, ordered online quick(it was just easier to order the phone I already had again) and my order was ready pretty quick for pick up. The store associate who helped me with curbside pickup was nice and understanding when I said I can't show you my online purchase receipt because my phone died and won't recharge which is why I'm here picking up a new phone, so just told him my name, showed him my i.d. and it was super easy and quick. Thanks bestbuy!!

Really is a nice little smart phone. Not the Cadillac of phones but has all of the nice comforts of convenient texting, nice screen, good battery life, and easy to use. Just need a basic talk and text phone that is easy to use and able to go online when I need to. Highly recommend this one if you are looking for an affordable and easy to use phone.

Good basic android phone for my elderly father. I upgraded the older Moto E series phone on Verizon prepaid plan. It’s simplicity and ease of use make it a good choice for novices who want a basic smartphone for fraction of the price of higher end models like Samsung and google. No 5G capability but 4G LTE on Verizon network works just fine for my father.

The phone itself is ok. This is the 3rd one I've purchased for my son. He's hard on phones! But it is cheap enough and does a good job with what he needs. I'm always surprised at the quality of the photos, they are pretty good. If he needs a phone again, and it's still available, I would have no problem buying another one.

This phone is a good replacement phone for my phone that died unexpectedly. I have noticed that it does run slower than my old one. And in the 2 weeks I've had it there have been at least 5 "critical" security updates. However like I said good phone for the price.

It is a simple phone and design. It does have a lag time when opening some apps. For the price I paid which was under $50, it does the job!

Great phone for the price, Moto had more options with larger models but for a quick replacement due to my other phone screen cracking and coronavirus holding up the shipment. Works fine.

Just use the phone for phone calls, and you are fine. All the features work well, except for the camera. Pictures are not clear at all. I did have trouble with the person on the other end hearing me, either in the middle of a conversation or when answering. Don’t know if it was something I was doing while on the phone.
