The Samsung Galaxy J3 is a great upgrade that is easy for my wife to handle. It is a more powerful 3rd generation for the J3 that is slightly smaller and yet closely matches my Samsung Galaxy J7. My wife loves the Silver color and its functionally.

I received a great deal price for this phone! Overall, love the screen, so many options for those who use it for everything. I was able to turn off many options I dont need... or uninstall. Beware of constant unneccesary updates soaking up data & memory & storage. (I use low data plan for low income people). Great screen and like that its not so thin ( less breakable). Battery has great options to optimize & last longer! Great for the price!

This phone is a good choice and the price is reasonable and I was surprised how well the pictures turned out using the camera. The only thing I dont like is the fact that it doesnt have a notification light when I get a message or missed call. I would recommend to a friend who needs a good, decent phone on a budget.

This phone was perfect for what I needed. Bigger phone, good screen and pretty simple to use. Was purchasing for an elderly person; who did not need or want bells and whistles. They have said they like the phone. That is the most important thing.

Bought this recently as a temporary replacement phone. Was easy to set up and charge. Haven't had any major issues with it yet. My only gripe is that calls aren't super clear, but that may be an issue on Verizon's part. Used it at a concert and the camera captured great video. So if you need something affordable, this is the phone to go with!

If you can live without fancy bells and whistles like a fingerprint reader, NFC (Google Pay) and multi-lens camera, this is a solid budget phone that works well. The camera does a decent enough job and performance when using apps is good. I don't play games on my phone so I don't know how well it does there.
The J3 comes with Andriod 8/Oreo but is upgradeable to 9/Pie.
The only downside to this phone is the 16GB of onboard storage. I would strongly recommend buying a microSD card.

It's a pretty good phone and I've had my first one for about a year and a half. I ended up giving it to my husband and buying another new one of the same brand and model. I recommend getting an SD card for it so that you can store your apps on that as well as your pictures because the memory does run up fast if you don't have an SD card. But it's really a reliable well made phone really easy to use in the price is good so I would definitely buy another one if I needed to.

The reception on this phone was just ok, mostly good on my end, but most of my people on the other end, reported a lot of static. So, as a phone it's about average, and nothing great.
The smartphone is pretty good, working fine on most sites, most of the time. Picks up on wifi pretty smoothly. The durability of the phone, seemed good, up until, at the end, just before my 2 year Geek Squad coverage was about to end, it flew out of my shopping cart, at King Soopers, and crashed on the ground floor, there.
To my surprise, the screen smashed, surprised, because other occasional, normal use drops, with the always on, good case that I'd bought, didn't shatter the screen, at all. The shatter on the screen this time, the only time, is bad enough to turn it in, completely smashed, and this is the end, but I was able to use it, anyway, afterwards, despite that.
So, durability I'd rate low, but middling. I wouldn't expect a phone to die, after 2 years, I'd think it could go maybe 5 years, so I'm disappointed. However, my girlfriend, and other people, all warned me, that Samsung phones are often this way, so that made me feel less bad about it.
The small amount of memory, 16GB, was clogged fast, as I had reached capacity, just 6 mths ago. I hardly ever download apps, anyway, but I had to erase apps, constantly, just to allow the required Samsung updates to occur.
That is frustrating, so this time I'm buying a new Samsung, with 256GB, instead. I'm not big on apps, but it is good to be able to do what is needed, at bare minimum, these days, let alone explore things that one likes. So the poor, small memory load was a big drawback, and I'd encourage anyone getting a J3, or any Samsung, to get as big a memory you can, because too small a memory makes everything run slower, and anything on the phone becomes difficult.
Upgrading now, for that reason alone, makes me happier, that I'm trading in this model, for a new Samsung phone.
I did also get an Iphone 12 Pro, which has a lot of memory, and is also great on phone calls, for that it's simply the best. However, the Apple system online, is often inferior, like Google Maps on droid, is way better, than the Apple Maps, with key features missing, and there's other things like that, online frustrations.
So, I'll use 2 phones, for now, as I want one for my business calls, likely, the Apple, and the new Samsung, for personal calls, and probably most of my net surfing...

Changing from a tracphone to a Verizon Samsung J3. It is easier to use and the prepaid plan works for me. The phone features are similar to other smartphones and I can ask users when I run into an issue. I feel I got the best price for that day.

I needed a replacement phone quick—
And although I really wanted one with ll the bells and whistles, I knew there was no way I could afford it so I opted for the Samsung Galaxy J3. It’s a notch being above basic; boasting a beautiful display, as well as a having a great audio! I Transferred my Sim card from my old phone to have a bit more storage space and voila! I am in business—. Very pleased!

No major bells or whistles. Just a good basic phone for general use. If you're not looking for all the different tricks and this is the phone for you. My only wish is that it was 32 gigabytes and not 16.

Got this Verizon pre-paid Samsung Galaxy J3 for my mother. She has had versions of the J3 from her last 3 phones. This new Verizon pre-paid Samsung Galaxy J3 is very much like its predecessors. It is easy to use, text, call, data and messaging. I would definitely recommend this J3 because my mother figured out how to do just about everything on this phone by herself. She really likes the J3 lineup over the years.

I had owned this phone previously, so this purchase was a replacement. This would be considered a nice camera upgrade from the cheapest Samsung touchscreen phone, but it's still preferably a beginner phone that's not too expensive to replace compared to other Samsung Galaxy phones.
