A useful $100 phone - camera sucks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this phone at Best Buy Sales of $103. It is a 2017 model. The 2018 model was recently released. This phone works well for my needs of telephone, loud speaker, texting, email (Gmail), web browsing (Chrome, Youtube), Google Maps, hotspot to my laptop. The display is adequate for reading and there is a settings to make the display work in sunlight. I like that it has a removable battery and cheap plastic back cover. I use the phone mostly for work. The Camera is really quite terrible, almost like the phones from 5 years ago. It is slow (from focus time to when it actually takes a picture), colors are mediocre, overexposure / underexposure is unpredictable, and pics lacks detail. Sure it is a budget phone, but if you intend to use the camera for anything keep sakes, I would say skip this phone. The 2018 model has a 16mp camera but it is just as slow and pictures are just as bad (compared to the other phone in the market in 2018). There is not much difference between 2017 and 2018 model other than price. I would say the J& 2017 model is on the money at the price of $100.

After less than 1 yr. of use, it develops several malfunctions & has also gone totally dead. I only use my phone for talk, text & limited internet searches. No streaming, etc. Love the ease of use but very disconcerting issues.
