I love this because no matter where I am I can check the status of thigs on my car, arm it, start it. Best!

You can adjust the settings on the App to start your car if the outside gets to a certain temperature. Unfortunately it does not work, thus the three star rating.

This is the coolest thing being able to start my truck from my phone and check the status.

The app fails to launch on android or iPhone I've tried both when app does launch it only will start my car 30% of the time defiantly not worth it

I had this installed on Friday , picked up the car on Saturday and didn't use my car on Sunday. Went out on Monday to leave for work and my car was completely dead. Since the car is 10 months old I knew it wasn't the car. I went back to best buy and Ryan spent quite a while checking connections on the whole remote system I left with the remote start connected and the smart start disconnected. He asked me to drive it for a while without the smart start. I have had no problems since. It could be that I received a bad module. Hopefully the next one will work as advertised

Purchased VSM200 with Geek Squad installation. Installer did an awesome job ensuring module was installed correctly by working with a Directed Electronics tech over the phone and when he was done, walked me through the settings and operation. For the VSM200 itself, it works like a charm. I compared this with the VSM250 with the GPS features but I didn't really need any of those. If I my kids were old enough to drive and I let them borrow my car then maybe I would buy it. The features of the VSM200 work well and the app is good. It may crash from time to time but you just have to be patient. I have an iPhone 6 and most products on the market today are catered toward Apple. For Android users, I've read a lot of complaints. If I stayed with Android I probably would've never bought this. For the price and it's features, it's definitely worth it. I don't mind paying for a service plan, I get the Motor Club membership included so now I have roadside assistance whenever I need it.

I bought the Smart modular VS200 with the Viper 4103 in Nov. I work in a nursing home, and usually have to park blocks away. I have an Android operated phone. The smart start has worked every time. I loaded the information on my daughters Android operated phone, and she started it up from Wisconsin ( just for giggles and grins!). There was one incident that it had noted the command was not recieved, but when I got to my car, it was in fact running. I have had no problems what so ever, and am very Happy!

Very happy with the range on my Viper LC3 remote - but now range is not an issue. Just another way to control my system - pretty cool.

The smartstart is really cool looking and slick when it operates quickly. It does not display properly on an Ipad but is very impressive looking anyway. Commands are sometimes slow to ghet back to the car. Overall it is worth it and a lot more copnvenient and reliable than a key fob. I have broke 5 Viper Key Fobs.

I was excited to find out the the new VSM200 was compatible with my Viper 5900 system. Works great!! Probably will not use it every time I lock/unlock the car, but it will be nice for all those times when I am far away and can't remember if I locked the car, or when someone needs to pickup or drop-off something, I can use my trunk as a mobile locker.

I don't usually take the time to write reviews and to be honest this is my first one. I was so disgusted with the purchase of this unit I thought I would give my honest opinion. It works don't get me wrong, but it only 5% of the time. The Iphone app is flakey, slow and sends you error after error messages. I had this unit for 3 days and it worked twice out of the 20 times I tried it. Gives you command errors and it will randomly say incorrect password even tho you didn't touch it. Morning times it will never work. Viper refunded the $99.00 no problem for the 3 years of service, probably b/c they know it is useless. I returned the device and BB took it out no charge. Read the reviews on the Iphone app store it will tell you the same thing. Don't waste your time or money...

Had this installed at best buy where I purchased it. Sales person knowledgable and installer also. They had family experience with this product. Gave instruction on use and I can go to any best buy anywhere if I have problems ever. Very easy to use this with my iPhone app. I love the ability to start my car from anywhere. Even tried it from another location miles away and it started!

Great concept; however, the product works fewer times than it actually works. Without exaggeration, if the device worked 40% of the time I am being generous. I purchased an add-on for a previous Viper Remote Start and a complete unit for my other car using Android phones (Sprint Epic/HTC Hero). Unit keeps give error messages. BB is uninstalling and company is refunding my full service plan. I was unable to determine any correlation of problem such as weather, cell signal strength, distance to vehicle, building construction; heck, I even stood next to the car on a clear sunny day.

I've had a viper remote starter for several years, and I was very happy to learn I could add smartstart to it. It's worked great so far and the price was reasonable.

I have the Viper 5901 alarm w/ Smartstart. The Alarm is great. The Alarm Trigger is great. The Smartstart app is really buggy. It doesn't work half the time and I am being literal. You'll have to pay for the SmartStart App for Androids phones with a 3 yr Contract. I thought it would be a good deal but since it doesnt work, its a pretty bad deal. Their customer service is pretty bad as well. So not professional in any sense. Basically,it feels like they want your money, and they don't care about their customers. Try visting their website mysmartstart.com and go their FAQ's b/c it seems Iphone's are having problems as well. Most of the problems that have occurred happened when the 2.3 update came out. Sorry this so negative, but its a big hassle trying to make this thing work. I hate carrying my keys.
