Great phone for people who do not need a smart phone or was a phone for emergency use. It has a lot of good features: email, web usage, camera. speaker phone, texting and it is compact.

    Cheap Phone

This phone is a very basic cheap phone. One of my main concerns is the Volume level on the speakerphone. It's rough hearing a phone call, since the volume is an issue, even if you increase it to maximum. It serves its purpose well as a disposable.

for the most part, this is a good phone for elderly parent. it was easy to set up. buttons are sufficiently large. speed dial is available. what i don't like is that the ringer volume is too soft for elderly parent hard of hearing, and when the phone rings, you don't just flip open the phone to answer - you have to flip open the phone AND push the answer button. If it were for me, not an issue, but for elderly simpler is always better,

Simple. Easy to use. Right for the price. Only downside is that it does not hold a battery charge as well as older, similar models.

After comparing the battery life of this phone (stand-by time of 6 days, 9 hours) to my Net10 Motorola flip phone (stand-by time of 15 days, 3 hours), I was a little disappointed, considering the Alcatel is much newer. The phones are very similar -- both play music, take pictures, etc. I also noticed a small glitch: the phone will sometimes indicate that charging is complete. However, when you unplug it, and plug it back in, the phone starts charging again. I haven't activated the phone yet, so I can't speak for service quality. If you're looking for a basic flip-phone with a few bonus features, it may be worth checking out for a few bucks.

    Alcatel Phone has a downside...

Let me start by saying I have used Virgin Mobile for years because of the cheap rate that I get through their company. After having a Kyocera flip phone for years, it was time for a new flip phone. I use the phone for my convenience only and am not concerned with using data and the like. I will say, that with the Alcatel One Touch, I can now carry on conversations and actually HEAR what the other person is saying compared with my old phone There is great audio on this phone. My major complaint is while texting, if you have a double letter in the text, it takes forever for the cursor to move to the next space so that you can continue with the double lettered word. I have tried to see if this could be corrected, but to no avail. I you want a simple phone, with large buttons, a readable screen, and a camera for a quick pic, then this is for you. But, if you want to include QUICK texting, then look somewhere for a simple phone.

Its a ok phone if you want a basic phone with a camera that's cheap. I like the small size but receiving texts are very tiny and hard to read, I also don't like all the button pushing you have to do to send a text and sometimes I have to push real hard to get it to work.

If you text, forget it. If you need a phone and like large numbers, this is the bargain and it has a few added things for the price as camera and Bluetooth.

I needed a short term low cost temporary phone for my land line number of 20 years. I had to move to a different community for 4 months in between selling and buying a home and was instructed to port the land line number to a cell phone so I wouldn't lose it. So much better than having to contact every doctors office, family member, etc It was easy to do and it's easy to use. I just add the minimum minutes required on line each month and only answer it when necessary so I don't exceed the minutes. Great service for what I needed.

Got this phone as a cheap one to use for work. For its purpose, it does fine. One thing I notice is that when its in my pocket, sometimes my keys or whatever else is in there will press on the side of the phone and turn off the volume. Can be rather frustrating not to hear an incoming call and find out its because the volume is turned all the way down. Also texting is a pain since you have to use the number pad. Still a good, cheap phone if that's what you're looking for,

Bought this for my dad so we just needed something bare bones that works. The layout was familiar to standard flip phones so that was a plus for my dad. He didn't have to get used to a whole new design. Nice big numbers make it easy for him to see and enter. No problems with performance or reception.

Phone seems to be a simple straight forward mbile phone. However, the alerts are endless. I am still trying to figure out how to turn them off. I would prefer a very limited notification of missed calls and text messages recieved. Very annoying notifications that must be actioned or dismissed to turn down the noise, so to speak. However, simple basic phone that suits my pruposes for a modest price.

Excellent for my elderly father who has vision problems. The numbers are easy for him to read and the size is also good for his limited manual dexterity.

Phone works well for what it was bought for which was for calls only. Battery life not too long but it was clearly noted on packing and other ratings. The price is excellent and glad it was available since most phones now force you into data plans.

Overall, this is a very nice flip phone. It has a large keypad, the UI is easy to use, and it gets a decent signal. My only gripe about this phone is the short battery life. If that were better, I'd easily give it 5 stars.

This is one of the better flip phones that I've used. What I like the most is that the phone is fairly large. I hate tiny, thin flip phones. The keys are well-spaced, so there are no inadvertent key presses. Volume is fair and not overly loud, but still loud enough to be heard. My only gripe is the short battery life. For emergency use only, you might get two days before you need to recharge it. For average daily use, you may not even make it through the day. If this will be your daily phone, always bring your charger with you as you will need it.

My dad had hard time seeing numbers on the other phone and wanted a flip phone, this offers large numbers and easy use. I wish you could make the font bigger on the main screen and speaker button would be nice to have. Otherwise nice simple phone.

Obviously we are not dealing with the complexities of an updated smartphone, this phone was purchased for what it is intended. A simple flip-phone device that can be easily operated, with a visible keyboard and a time display up front. It is a good, practical choice for a very young person or as in this case for an older person with a minimal degree of comfort with technology. The phone is a practical "backup" or an inexpensive choice for anyone without a cell phone. This was purchased as a gift for someone that can barely operate a TV remote, it works!
