I am upgrading from a LG Optimus f3. The samsung has a faster processor,more memory and better cameras. The screen size is great but not to big, still fits in my front pocket. The main camera takes ok pics, not as good as I think they should for being an 8mp camera. Selfie camera takes great pics for a 5mp camera.I got the phone from bestbuy.com on sale for $49.It was $150 off. The cheapest phone I ever bought and the best. I've always been brand loyal to LG but this phone has changed that. Just typing this review I can tell the touch screen is extremely more sensitive then the LG's I've had. Overall great phone for the price.

So far so good. Takes nice action shots and quicker than I expected. Not too big.

If you have virgin mobile service phone provider, this phone would be a good fit for you. It's a good all around phone, it takes pictures, fast and good application storage. If your a penny pitcher then this phone would be a good investment.

My last two Virgin Wireless phones were LG brand and I was looking for something with similar battery life. I was also looking to upgrade to 16 GB on board memory. This phone meets both of those criteria. I was also pleased to find out that this phone comes with Microsoft Office Mobile Edition (which is great for opening up word and excel attachments in my work e-mails.) On my old phones I had to "open as a web page" which did not always allow me to filter or modify the document. I can also plug in my phone to import/ export from Microsoft Office. The signal strength is excellent and the WiFi reception seems to be better than any of my prior phones. This is my first Samsung phone and certainly not my last. Bravo!

I LOVE this phone and I'm so happy with it. The samsung j 3 has plenty of memory for all my needed apps. The camera takes great photos and videos.

New Samsung phone for a fraction of the price of the S7 or iphone. Why pay more than half a grand for features and memory you will never use. This gets the job done. Runs all my apps and pictures are great. Plus with Virgin Mobile phone service it is only $35 a month. If you have coupons for Best Buy or other retailers you can use this on the top up card and end up paying less than $35 a month. Once again why pay a crazy high monthly fee for service you don't need. Only downfall is that it is only available in gold, but put it in a case and you won't see the gaudy, 1970's color.

Affordable, fast, and more than enough memory for my daily use.

I am new to smartphones and technically challenged. This phone was fairly easy to navigate and use. Has quite a few nice features. The camera takes beautiful clear pictures. I love the built in flashlight. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the lack of a flashing red light to let you know when you've missed a call. You won't even know you've missed it unless you check your call log. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it as a learning tool. Once I really get proficient and comfortable with it I will probably upgrade to Samsung's newest model. For now this works just fine.

easy to use more freedom than using an Iphone battery last a long time

I purchased this phone during a sale as an upgrade to my VM LG and am still using it to the day of this review, almost a year later. I'll most likely continue with it for at least another year--a sufficient upgrade will have to meet and beat the best features of this phone, and of course, the price. Only occasionally do I experience RAM lags but this could easily be blamed on my days of having 8+ apps open or having missed some much needed update. Only a few times have I felt the battery getting warm but nothing overheating, corrupting, or exploding yet! Overall, the phone has treated me pretty well, and I really do love having the 16GB of space (bloat included is closer to 12GB), true expandable SD storage options, and the physical mid size of it as well (too large of a phone=too much for me). If you really crave the Samsung experience without having to pay the hefty price tag, I 100% recommend getting and trying out the J3! This one has definitely been a win for Samsung's budget line!

I love this phone. I have been a Virgin Mobile customer for 7 years and this is the best phone yet. I am a Samsung customer through and through. This phone has great battery life, is fast and I love the size.

I mainly use messaging and apps on my phone and this phone is perfect for that use. Pictures are pretty good, not the best but better than the other phones I have had. The sound on calls is slightly tinny, but is still very clear despite this. Love my new phone :)

I have had this phone over a year and it still works great! Internet speeds are fast and storage is pretty good. The camera could improve a little but it still takes great pictures. The only negative issue was that it was not compatible with one app I tried to download. Other than that, it has been a great phone.

This is the perfect phone for me, it works great, has a nice size screen and has 16gb of storage. I don't use my phone for music or videos so 16 gb is enough for my use but you can add sd storage if needed. It has a clear bright touch screen and the battery last much longer than my previous phone, my first Samsung and its great!

Mainly use it for texts and quick phone calls. Overall it's a serviceable phone, I have a variety of apps and all seem to run fine without any problems. I like how when i turn off wifi it stays off, no turning on automatically when it finds a new signal. I have two issues. I use it on Virgin Mobile and for some reason it won't download multimedia messages on any wifi, I must use cellular data to receive any pictures or group messages. The second is a lack of notification light for messages or charging.

Not overloaded with unwanted apps. Easy to use. Great color and perfect amount of storage, camera takes great pics! Love it!
