I almost didn't buy this for my daughter's birthday. She was fine with the phone she already had (an LG Volt) and I wondered, why buy a new one if she's happy with what she's got? I'm kind of in the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" line of thinking when I see people ditching their (still working) "old" phones that they've only had for a year or two for the latest, newer upgrade. It may not make sense to me, but I admit I'm an old fogey when it comes to this stuff. But I put aside my old fogey-ness and did some research trying to find a good quality upgrade, no contract phone for my daughter anyway. I was thinking of getting her the LG Volt 2 (seemed logical), but opted for the Samsung Galaxy J3 instead. It has 16GB internal memory plus micro SD slot compared to 8GB for Volt 2. And the slightly more favorable reviews the J3 receives here and on other sites helped me decide as well. The camera on the J3 is 5MP compared to 8MP on the Volt and Volt 2. I don't think this is much of an issue with my daughter since she's not much of a selfie/photo fanatic. The 5" touch screen display is nice, battery life is very good, runs smooth and quick and overall, my daughter gives her new phone a thumbs up. I guess I'm 2 for 2. I bought my youngest daughter a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime for her birthday last September and she loves it too! Not bad for an old fogey if I do say so myself!

Bought this when my other (and way more expensive) Samsung died. Decided to never spend a lot of money on another phone again, and this one seems just as good as the more expensive models. Bought a case for it and it's good to go.

This is an amazing phone. Great for beginners or just someone looking for a quality phone that will not break the bank. 5 MP camera that takes nice photos and a 2MP camera for video chatting as well. What blew me away though was the ability to add a s7s card up to 128GB; considering the price for this phone and it's capability to be updated to 6.0.1, it became the perfect phone to gift to my nephew. It can even run Pokemon go!!!

Bought this as a spare for my current J3. Has an excellent display. It has good battery life. Lasts a day and a half without charging. Got it for very low price on sale.

I'm very impressed with this phone considering the price. I've bought more expensive phones that turned out to be duds. This phone is zippy plus has excellent battery life and one of the better cameras I've come across. My last phone had severe storage issues but I've downloaded a ton of apps without a single warning that I'm almost out of memory.

After reading many reviews of this phone, picked up 3 for family members. Since kids are not the most careful and responsible I wanted good functionality and features at a decent price. Very happy with my choice and esp. with the price. The camera is excellent and (great low light pics) with smart focus and more than adequate resolution. Paid only $50 per phone and now have 1 as a backup. Very happy.

Long battery life. Camera quality is good. Easy to use. Meets my expectations and needs.

Good value. I like my Android. This new one is much easier to handle....my last on , the LOVE, was too large for my hand.

Super fast phone and the price doesn't break the bank. I'm thinking of buying one more.

I love samsung and this is a great phone for a low price

My wife has started to use some of the many features on this phone; the biggest problem she has is that there are a number of unexplained features and, not being tech savvy, she has trouble finding what she wants.

my wives old phone died and we got this as a replacement. After adjusting from the differences in operating systems from an LG to a Samsung and the size difference, she loves it. lots of speed and memory.

My dad isn't tech savvy but this phone is perfect for him. It has a nice layout of the apps and it has a good camera. He loves the adjustments he can make in terms of volume and display. It has a good battery life too. Perfect for him.

I bought this because of the sale but it turned out to be a great little phone. The Camera is great and so is the screen resolution. Would like to have it available in other colors. Affortable, basic and gets the job done.

Generally very pleased with phone. Screen is bright and large enough for email. Battery life is excellent. Sound quality could be better. Some controls and features are confusing.

Got this for like $60 only to find next week it went even cheaper; $50!!! Couldn't believe it but oh well still a steal either way. Feels very basic though but it does the job. Phone feels very slippery in hand like very soft texture. Had to get a rubber case for better grip. Also had a problem where phone was not receiving calls and tech support and customer service were no help. I was about to return out of frustration when finally on a hunch I decided to clear phone app and voila calls restored! 16gb storage feels GREAT if your coming from phone with only 8gb. Get an sd card for media storage and you will have plenty of space for apps. On my previous phone even with sd card constantly had to be deleting cache and apps was really annoying! Anyway good value all around phone.

I really love this cell phone and it is just the right size for viewing YouTube videos, watching movies, or surfing the internet. The only complaint I have which is why I did not give this phone 5 stars is because when someone sends you an attachment downloaded image in a text message, the download never opens up and you receive an error message stating how the download can not be viewed. If the wifi is on then the downloaded image will not open up. You have to keep turning your wifi off then the attachment downloaded image will download and open up and appear in your text message which is a pain to have to go through. The cell phone should automatically download the image and appear in the attachment text message that someone sends you regardless if the wifi is on or off.
