As a first time smartphone user the jury is still out on this phone. I do like some of the features on the phone but am not entirely sure about everything I can do with it yet. I especially like the fact that it is a "No Contract Phone" yet, It has many of the features of the more expensive contract phones. Once I've learned more about what I can do with this phone I may post another review.

The Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy J7 Perx is one of the best phones I've owned.

I bought this phone to replace a 2015 J7 I got a few months ago because a couple of apps I use only run on Nougat 7 and holy smokes I'm so glad I did. It's longer, narrower and thinner than the J7 which felt like I was lugging around a miniature tablet at times, it's also noticeably quicker and the screen seems crisper on the eyes. Al my apps and the OS (currently Nougat 7.0 ) are taking up 3.44 GB of space which leaves me 10.37. GB of free space. I also have a 64 GB sd card for storing pics and video's etc. so other than installing a few more apps I don't anticipate filling it up with apps. It comes with some bloatware but you can unistall some apps or disable the apps that won't uninstall. There doesn't appear to be a notification light for text's etc.so hopefully Samsung may consider it in a future update but judging from the 2015 J7 I wouldn't hold my breath The call clarity is great, I was often told my J7 would sometimes echo and sound like it's under water to the person on the other end when I spoke but the Perx I'm told is crystal clear I use Virgin so I didn't have the luxury of having a lot of phones to select from but honestly I'd much rather buy this for $199 than pay $500 and up for a phone that might have a couple more bells and whistles that I don't really need. I'm technical and I use my phone a lot in my day to day and the Perx handles it nicely.

I got this as an upgrade for my Samsung J3, which even with 1.5 gb ram, still ran low on memory. All the difference in the world, partially due to the Android Nougat system, which works perfectly with the Samsung J7 to maximize memory and keep it moving smoothly. Pictures are good, responsiveness excellent.

For the price of this phone it is 10 times better than my old android phone. I couldn't be happier. I added a 32gb micro sd card and transferred everything from my old phone including 2500 pictures, 30 videos and about 3,000 songs and still have 19gb left on sd card. My internal phone storage with a bunch of apps installed is around 4gb. The front and main camera takes excellent pictures. Screen is very large and easy to see. Phone also has one handed mode which will reduce the screen size to make it easier to reach with your thumb also you can move it to the right or left depending on your dominate hand. Phone is very responsive and fast. For what you get the price is a great value.

This phone is perfect for me - it has a nice screen, great camera, numerous features/apps, and decent price. I highly recommend it!

I had a very dated phone. I received this one as a gift for Christmas and love it. It is so fast and holds many more apps than my old phone. My daughter is thinking about getting one as well.

My Galaxy S3 was on its last legs and my monthly prepaid cycle just renewed with Virgin Mobile. Best Buy does not carry many high end option in store for Virgin. Otherwise, I likely would have bought a Galaxy S8. I chose the J7 Perx and I'm happy with the result. It's currently on sale for $129 which is a lot less than an S8. The operating system is a big improvement over the S3. The phone is very fast and fluid moving between apps and the internet. It also has a very strong battery life. So far I've gotten 5 days on a charge (although I tend to keep it on just a phone/text option and shut it down at night). For the money, this is a great option.

Easy to use. Battery life is very good. Takes clear pictures too. Like the larger screen .

i do like the ease of the cellphone, easy for applications, easy to learn and function, sometimes the screen will not work and you have to restart, can be upsetting, ive had it a few weeks and it has happened half dozen times, but I take pictures, call, text and use social media consistently, I ordered a cute holding case off amazon, we all had the J3 before this one and absolutely loved it hands down, fact is my 20 yr old doesn't want to change it up, but I wanted one to get more apps, hold more pages and tad bigger screen which is the J7. We love Virgin Mobile and have never had issues with their service, best part is the phones are awesome and not cheap made

A very dependable phone, ample storage for a number of apps and photos. The larger amount of RAM available than most lower cost phones, along with a solid CPU, allows a snappy response to most usage, although multi-tasking does slow it considerably.

Bought this for an upgrade to the J3. Way better! Faster! Larger screen, and on sale!

I've owned a few Samsung Galaxy phones in the past, and this one does everything I need and at a fraction of the cost of most new "headline" phones.

I bought this phone as a replacement for one with a cracked screen. I wanted to maintain the same no-contract plan with Virgin Mobile and this phone was offered. I am completely satisfied with the phone. It is bigger and better than the one I replaced and Best Buy associates did a great job of setting up the new phone and transferring data.

This is a very good phone for the price, if you don't want to spend hundreds! Nice screen, good features, good pics, easy to use.

Good camera quality. Holds charge well. Like the bigger screen size.

I couldn't use a new SIM card in my old phone so I had to upgrade to this one. Hopefully this one stays nicer than the other one.

It was time for me to upgrade. I have Virgin Mobile and didn't know that BB carried phones for them. I've always gone to Target. I've had it about 2 months and still love it. It was very easy to move/change over all of my data. It is much faster than my last phone. Very easy to use.

I like this phone. It does much more than my old phone. Very easy to use for someone older - like me!
