A: I've had it for several weeks, haven't noticed any overheating. However, the new one comes through with Android Nougat (7), and I regularly get messages that the system has shut down unused apps running in the background. (That also prolongs the battery - I use it fairly often - mainly texting - and I get 2 to 2.5 days on a battery charge.)

A: Apparently it depends on the store. I have had Virgin Mobile for 10 years. They have always activated my phone and transferred my contacts. But you don't have to. There is a way to do it at home if you choose.
