Google Mesh WiFi extender doing the job and doing it well - I moved into a 4-floor townhouse and wasn't getting reception on the top floor. Now I am!

I've had this TV for a couple months now, and overall, it's been really great. Here's how I break this down:
Pros: Great picture/color quality, from multiple angles; Chromecasting is super convenient (except for the fact that Amazon Music and Google still can't get along, so there's no casting option for the Amazon Music app); sound quality (without a sound or external speakers) is pretty good; lightweight; easy to program/figure out; price point for picture quality, etc., is really good.
Cons: No TV tuner (not an issue for me as I stream everything); can sometimes be glitchy - home screen freezes, or app can't cast to the TV, etc., but is always easily rectified through power cycling the device (unplugging from power source and holding power button down for 30 seconds) to reboot; requires apps on your phone/device, since not all apps are able to be installed on the TV.

I looked for quite awhile before purchasing this TV. I wasn't even considering a Vizio because last years model was not very good. Thankfully Best Buy had this on display and I was able to see that the 2017 model was a vast improvement over 2016.
Pros:
*Setup is a breeze, unlike last years models you don't need a smart device to setup.
*Picture quality is excellent. I used the preset calibration settings and I was done.
Looks great at 1080 and watched some 4K Youtube videos and was very happy with it.
No issues with motion blur while watching hockey and I didn't experience any juttering while watching movies. Hit all my wants and needs.
*Sound is very good, no need for me to add a sound bar.
Neutral:
*Be aware that you must use the Vizio Smartcast app in order to make this a "smart TV" no built in apps. This is not an issue for me as the app on my Android phone worked smoothly and it is easier to type on your phone/tablet keyboard than using a remote. Also I use an Amazon Fire Stick for most of my streaming needs.
* No TV tuner, this is not an issue as we either stream or use the cable box. No off air viewing needed.
* Side angle viewing isn't as good as the old LCD screen it replaced but better than most at this size.
Cons:
*No RCA video input so I'll have to get a converter for our aging Wii, not that it gets used much anymore.
*Stand is sturdy but I wish it were a center mount that swiveled like the TV it replaced.

we found this home theater at a good cost for the size and features and have had good experience with other Vizio TV's. The set was relatively easy to set up. The picture is not as 'outstanding' as we expected but still very good. After replacing our old 42 inch with this 43 inch, we regretted not going up a bit larger. With the smaller frame, it does not look as large as the old set.

Thanks for taking the time to review our product. Picture quality can vary depending on the source you're viewing, light in the room, and of course personal preference. For the best picture quality, make sure you're devices are connected with HDMI cables. You can also adjust picture settings by pressing the menu button on your remote, and changing the 'picture mode'. If you're in a brighter room, try 'Calibrated' or 'Vivid'. For darker rooms, try 'Calibrated Dark'. If you'd like any help adjusting your settings, or have any questions about what the individual settings adjust, feel free to chat or email our tech support team by visiting support.vizio.com, and choosing 'Contact Us'.

Has a sharp picture. The 4K Ultra HD is the way the way to go. I Have (2) friends that have seen the movies I purchased. One already said he was going to purchase the same as us except a larger screen. The other said he most likely would do it after the first of the year and also a larger screen. What really sold them were the Ultra 4k DVD units that we purchased. Seeing the Movies on 4k just set them back as it did me when I seen It for the first time.

Works like a charm. Replaced our older (10yr. old) Sanyo 32" flat screen TV. The picture color and sharpness is FANTASTIC. Hooked up our older Surround sound system to it and it is great. The App selection is good for us and the programming of the TV could not be easier. It does not have a dedicated TV tuner so you WILL need a cable box or external TV tuner to watchregular TV. We have Comcast so we are good to go. Would highly recommend this to any one.

Great picture quality and features. Be careful though, this "TV" does not have a tuner. So, if you are wanting to hook up an antenna to view your local stations, look at a different model. The refresh rate is what drove me to this unit for my price point. I watch Netflix and play PS4 on it, so don't really have a need for a tuner. Amazing picture for the price.

This panel has some issues. I have purchased Vizio screens for years and have yet to find myself disappointed until now.
My first complaint about the screen is actually somewhat hard to describe and after web searching it seems as if I may be the first to have actually noticed the issue. I’m not certain if it is a result of the panel construction or the active LED zones or what have you as I did not feel like sitting on the line with support to find out. But to the point... when viewing content of any kind this is visible, such as in a video game when panning the point of view to an area of uniform, light color such as the sky or sun, a distinct X becomes visible. After I noticed it I thought perhaps it was a defect, but after exchanging for a new set I discovered it is characteristic of all sets in this model size. This is one of those things that once seen cannot be unseen.
My second major complaint would be the audio lip syncing. Though just on the edge of human perceptibility it is indeed out of sync. This is, again, characteristic of all panels in this model size.
Thricely, the first set I purchased was accompanied by a remote adorned with a Netflix, IheartRadio, Hulu button etc. After returning the first unit I discovered the second, though being the exact same model set, was accompanied by a much more simplistic remote which lacked all of those streaming platform quick keys. This may seem a small inconvenience and indeed it is, though still noteworthy.
There are pros about the set of course. Aside from the dreaded X, the picture quality is quite excellent. Doesn’t get quite as bright as I’m accustomed to with their sets but this isn’t a big deal if mainly viewing in a dark room. The upscaling engine is top and even does very well with standard def content. The input lag is serviceable as well.
All in all a decent set for the price, though I would personally have to recommend going with one of their larger sets, such as the M series, if you’re keen on going with Vizio and avoiding most of these issues. Or if you’re stuck in this size range, I would honestly spend the extra cash and take a slight size hit with the Samsung 40MU6290. You won’t regret it in the long run.

Very pleased with the picture quality of the TV. I'm not a huge fan of the chrome cast portion of the TV. I go to open spotify or HBO Now on the TV and it tells me to smart cast them through the vizier app on my phone. I open this app and it then opens spotify or HBO, whichever one I'm using. I'd rather just launch the app directly on my TV as it lets me do this with netflix. Maybe I can direct launch, but I haven't figured it out yet.

My son wanted a television for his birthday. So he used the money that he received and I gave him the rest for this Visio 4K TV set and we'll have to say its image and performance is awesome!!!! Can't go wrong with this set which also has 120Hdz refresh rate. It's picture quality is amazing and the sound is good also. The fact that is has chromecast built in is a plus. I would recommend this television set to anyone out there that's looking for a good affordable television set for their bedroom (It's 43").
