||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) for $400 as I was excited to try it after reading such raving reviews about how awesome it sounded. Long story short it was a beautiful soundbar with underwhelming sound…and it requires internet connection and is always on which I don’t like. I quickly returned it. In to the Vizio..I wasn’t super excited as I had no experience with Vizio and considered it a budget brand which normally isn’t great but not bad. Boy was I wrong about this. You’re getting superior quality sound, the build quality is great, the setup is easy, the customization settings are a huge plus whether I’m watching YouTube,Blu Ray movies on my PS5 or TV shows I can customize it to my needs. The sound is GREAT and increasing the dialogue in Media was my biggest want as it’s always so quiet while action sequences are explosive and I hated that problem at night. This Soundbar remedies that, and then some. The Bass is booming and can be adjusted it sounds so good. The little side speakers that you can place behind you or next to the main soundbar sound great and add depth. Sound has overall height (that can be adjusted too) depth, clarity, and quality. I would have been much happier spending $400 for this over the Sonos Beam. Luckily it’s not just better, but it’s far cheaper which puts a big smile on my face as I’m not just saving money, but buying a superior sound system for my living room. I knew I was keeping this one immediately and the raving reviews are on point with this sound bar. I even tried it at BestBuy in person in their soundbar demo section and liked the sound over any of the other units they had on display. Absolutely recommend. I’m no sound engineer but I can’t imagine spending hundreds more will get you that much better sound. This exceeded my expectations and I am thrilled to use it daily. Highly recommend.

Best Soundbar setup for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound bar itself is pretty good, but it came without a remote, power cables, and audio cables for the rear speakers (My rating only considers my experience with the product and not my grievances with best buy). Granted I did buy it open box, but it was open box excellent and excellent condition is expected to include all original parts. The surround sound is solid, so is the bass. The best you can get in a sub $500 soundbar. The atmos experience is a bit lacking due to no up-firing drivers in the rear speakers but is still a nice experience and definitely deserves the atmos tag. There is only one thing that really needs to be said: for the price this soundbar is the best option available if you care about surround sound and atmos.

Quality Dolby Atmos at a Decent Price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new Vizio sound bar! I paid $402, including the 4-year geek squad protection, after using $90 in reward certificates. It has paired extremely well with my LG C1. I love that it comes with the subwoofer and 2 (wired) satellite speakers to really emphasize the rumble of the bass - it really feels like you're in a movie theater! Living in an apartment, I am unable to blast the sound, but it can get extremely loud if you want it to. I had to get creative and buy a MARTY brand 42" dual monitor stand to prop up my tv since the sound bar cuts off the bottom of the screen. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would recommend the Vizio m512a-h6 to anyone looking to upgrade their sound quality!!

Excellent soundbar system
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is impressive. Very strong bass and surround. Atmos is so so but is on all devices that bounce sound from the ceiling. Bar has colored LED’s instead of scrolling text and that’s not great, however, the remote has a screen with text for adjusting all settings. A terrific moderately priced soundbar.

Excellent 5.1.2 Atmos soundbar setup with eArc.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been very pleased with this soundbar setup. The biggest thing is to make sure and update the unit prior to passing judgement. Once updated many of the issues go away. The eArc passthrough and link to TV is completely fixed on my LG C9 after the latest patch on Vizio's support site. This soundbar has booming bass, very clear dialogue, and excellent clarity on the surround speakers. Tuning of the levels is a necessity in my opinion and can easily be done on the remote. The one disappointment for me is the DTS: X and Atmos effects while they do add height to the audio I don't quite hear them bounce off of the ceiling down to the couch. Either way for the money this is an excellent sound bar that you will love especially for the money.

Amazing sound for a great affordable price
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brought this to pair with my 65” 4K tv that has Dolby vision and HDR. Have to say wow it really makes the movies come to life. Makes my living room sound like a theater when plugged in eARC slot on my tv. The upfiring speakers really make it sound like sound is coming from over head. Just incredible. Pair it with a tv that has Dolby vision and it just syncs so well together. Love how the subwoofer is already synced to the sound bar and just plug into the well. The satellite speakers hook directly to the subwoofer. I have my sub behind us and can feel the bass very well. Looks great and is durable. Worth every penny.

Wow
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds as good as systems that cost 3 times as much at least. Shocking how good it is for the price compared to other systems. You have the sub and two rear surrounds so you real get real surround sound. Great bass, great soundstage, and dialogue is incredibly clear. One of the best things is your ability to control the levels and balance of each part of the system. Really came in handy when i could only hear the right surround 90% of the time when playing movies. Being able to change the levels allowed me to correct that. Is it true dobly atmos? No. But with that added it does give a bigger and broader soundstage then other systems. Just sounds better with it, maybe more crisp. All in all it was a great buy.

Excellent Dolby Atmos sound bar for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t often write reviews but I bought this sound bar after TONS of research on Black Friday 2022 and have been using it for the past 2 years. This sound bar is amazing for the sound quality, base, and ability to support Dolby Atmos with the top firing speakers. I spent considerably more money on a larger setup for my basement (9 speakers, amplifier/receiver, etc.) and I have to say that this sound bar is so good on my 65” TV up stairs that my family rarely wants to go to the basement TV room with my 77” and full Atmos setup! In full disclosure I will say this sound bar has very basic features with limited options (i.e. for changing the sound settings and making individual speaker adjustments), but for the average “joe” this is more than enough and is very easy to use. I wasn’t sure if I’d use the built in Bluetooth but I love how easy it is to connect our iPhones or iPads to the sound bar without having to turn the TV on when we just want to stream music. The base (despite the small subwoofer size) is plenty for a small to medium sized room and probably sufficient for even larger rooms (provided you aren’t a base junky like I am). Love this sound bar, can’t recommend it highly enough if you want a complete, basic, easy to use home theatre sound system for TV and occasional music listening.

Hard to find a better budget Atmos bar
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At this price point it is difficult to get a better soundbar than this. A few points ill cover: Setting up this system is so simple and easy. For atmos wire in your device to the soundbar, and hdmi earc it to your tv. It does the rest. The settings do need some tinkering but the remote is super easy to navigate and use. Soundwise the bar is amazing. I was quite suprised at the mid range and highs it produced. As always, Vizio gives you enough bass, too much at times. However it can be dialed in quite nicely overtime. Concerning atmos, I was pleasantly suprised how well it worked. It doesnt compare to more expensive systems and soundbars, but for 500 dollars, you wont find anything comparable atm. I have a hard ceiling that is about 10 foot tall and the sound bounces amazing well from the height channels. Normal 5.1 and stereo sound great as well. Overall, if you are looking for a budget atmos system with immersive sound, you cant go wrong with this soundbar from Vizio.

Budget Home Theatre Setup!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first Home Theatre setup after upgrading my basement and I did not want to spend much. I was looking to buy the Vizio 5.1 setup but that was not in stock and this one popped up and was on sale for a great price. The setup was easy (even for a beginner like me) and I hooked up Apple TV as input and used the HDMI ARC port to pass through video to my projector. All in all, the setup worked perfectly for my needs. Now to the quality: I am not an audiophile and this system sounds awesome. The Bass is just enough for me and I can feel the rumbling and sound coming from all around me while watching 6 Underground. Voice was clear and music was crisp too. As for Dolby Atmos, I am yet to check it out fully. Hoping that works well too even though I have nothing to compare it to. Verdict: An awesome all round speaker system in the budget price range.

Great sound for the sale priced
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me state I'm not an audiophile & I've never spent more than $450 for a SB. The only issues I have with this is that the SR speakers have to plug directly into the SW, the SB only has 2 HDMI ports, the remote is crap & in order to update you have to download software to a USB & connect it to the SB. The sound is incredible, the dialog is clear & bass is strong. I "like" to look at complaints on this or the manufacture website & I haven't had any of the issues mentioned. If it helps I'm coming from a Polk Magnifi SR which gave me a couple of problems, ie, some popping on the surrounds & the dialog wasn't alway clear, which was weird because you can "customize the voice levels" & that was it's big selling point. I thought it was just me, but from time to time my wife would ask "what they say" & I'd respond "I don't know" I bought this in either 2018 or 2017. I'd say it was very loud, but it wasn't always satisfying & heard popping & crackling a few times from the SR (not in the last 6 months & probably not more than 10 times) but it lasted like 30 seconds & disappears. It has 4 HDMI ports, remote is nice & the SR don't have to connect to the SW. Other than the popping, I haven't had any of the issues people complained about. The only reason I upgraded is for the Atmos & to take advantage of eARC, which the Polk doesn't have (& the price was right) I forgot what my first SB was, but it was a Samsung, didn't have SR speakers & lasted only a year before I upgraded. It wasn't bad, I just wanted SR

Great sound,
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a smaller soundbar as my new apartment was larger. The installation is easy and the sound is great. The soundbar is much louder and has a clear sound. The sub is a bit loud even with the sub level lowered although I love bass so not a huge problem for me. My main issues are the eARC connection and controls. The remote itself is easy to use although a bit confusing at first as you need to look at the remote and the soundbar constantly to known what setting you're on. It would have been much better if there was a simple display on the TV. Aside from basic buttons (volume, mute and on/off) it is complicated to change anything else with a universal remote. So you basically need to always have yet another remote to change different modes or make slight changes. Regarding eARC I'm not completely sure if it is the TV, the soundbar or a combination of both. The TV is a Sony X900 so it does have known eARC problems. However at times the soundbar does not recognize any input at all and it needs to be hard reset. Sometimes the remote isn't enough to lower the volume and you need to physically press the volume on the soundbar itself to get it to respond. Need to switch between eARC and ARC a few times a month to get it to respond. Sometimes the volume get weird and the difference between 0 and 1 is huge and eARC needs to be toggled on and off. Again not sure if it is a soundbar issue or a TV issue. I still recommend it although keep in mind that it might not be plug and play.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale. I upgraded from the previous Vizio sound at 5.1 system and this is definitely an upgrade and worth it. In comparison the sounds are a lot higher and clearer with more clarity and detail. The bass as welll has more oomph and clarity with sharpness. The dolby atmos works pretty well. This is just an intro dolby atmos starter but you won’t find anything better or slightly better for this price or double it. If you’re on the fence between this or the 5.1 system choose this. It’s much better .

Great sound but some connectivity issues.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to echo some of the earlier reviews. First the positives - Sounds pretty amazing compared to others in its price range and even some that are a little more expensive. Compared it to Samsung Q850A and LG SN7R. It sounds better than both. Surround sound is excellent and has a very wide soundstage. It fills the room and sounds a lot wider than it looks. Bass is great for TV and movies. Surprising bass from such a small subwoofer. Dialogue is very clear. There is a separate "Dialogue" control that lets you increase or decrease the frequencies that most dialogue use. Not sure if it's doing it with a set frequency or AI that analyzes the source but it works well. The remote has a lot of settings but they let you tweak the sound quite a bit. The negatives - Initially, lots and lots of connectivity issues. I had to uninstall and reinstall it at least 20 times before I got it working properly. My TV would go back and forth detecting it as either ARC or eARC at random. Sometimes the volume level would be so low that I'd have to turn up the volume setting on the bar to 50 (goes from 0 to 100) just to get a comfortable sound level for basic TV. When it's working right, a setting of 12 or 14 is perfect for regular TV and for a movie where I want to feel like I'm in a theater, 22 does the job and by 30 the neighbors can hear it. But when it's having problems, I have to turn it up to 50 just to watch TV. BTW, this is with the EQ set to Movie. The other settings are significantly lower in volume and require higher volume settings to achieve the same sound levels as in Movie mode. CEC sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. And other times it sort of works but the volume level numbers don't show up on the TV. To get everything to finally work properly I had to disconnect all my streaming devices, factory reset the soundbar and my TV, then reinstall the devices one at a time. This finally got it working....for now. It has only been one day but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. There is no on-screen menu and the only way to know what settings are active or what the levels are is to memorize some LEDs that are just simple dots on the front of the soundbar and don't really tell you anything. No wifi or phone app. For a $500 soundbar that's pretty sad. Although I guess that just means there's less that can go wrong. But without wifi you have to use a USB drive to update the firmware. Very old school. Earlier I mentioned that the bass is good for TV and movies. Here I'll point out that it's not that great for music. Music that's bass-heavy, especially some hip hop, will cause the soundport on the sub to buzz or rattle very loudly. It's OK for other types of music that aren't that bass-heavy though although it will still distort and compress when turned up loud. The speaker wires for the rear surrounds are RCA cables. I would have preferred regular two-wire speaker cables. That's the standard used for speakers and my house is already wired with regular speaker wire all throughout the house. Not a huge deal as there are adapters to go from RCA to regular wire, and it's also easy enough to just make your own. Bottom line, we all buy these soundbars for the sound, so if you don't have any of the connectivity problems I and some other reviewers have had, it's definitely worth it for the sound, especially for TV and movies. If you're more of an audiophile and want it primarily for music than for TV/movies, I'd look elsewhere, but the sound it produces for tv/movie watching is excellent.

Shockingly Good Sound at a Great Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Soundbar as it was highly recommended by many online, and even RTINGs had good things to say about it (great resource for home entertainment reviews and information) Bought it on saale, and added Geek Squad protection for piece of mind. Installation is super simple, Bass packs a punch and rumbles the whole living room, eARC and ATMOS support is a great addition. The surround speakers connect to the wireless sub, so a good placement is hiding the sub behind the couch, and wiring the surrounds to that on either side of the couch. Going through the menus and such is a little finicky, as the only display you have is on the remote, and the soundbar speaking back to you Highly recommended!

Best Dolby Atmos Soundbar in sub $500 price range
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good build quality. The soundbar itself is pretty big in size. Best if you can put it on a stand. This is not something that i would mount on a wall. Plenty of connectivity options but wireless connectivity is limited to Bluetooth only. My one big gripe with this soundbar is that it lost Chromecast capability. My 2 year old Vizio SB36512-F6 has chromecast which is great so I miss this greatly in this sounbar. The overall system is pretty good with some great sound output. The thump from bass is superb. The surround speakers add to the overall immersive sound experience. If you want the most cost-effective way to get true Dolby Atmos playback, nothing beats the Vizio M512a-H6.

The sound from this is absolutely incredible and loud enough that your neighbors blocks away can hear it. This is an amazing sound bar and the price is even better. Its crisp, clear, booming bass and at times will scare you when you dont expect it. Make sure your TV has an eArc plug and take the time to tune it properly to your environment. Worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good: amazing sound. Pretty close to dolby theater experience (i say this as a AMC a list movie subscriber). Bass kicks and simulates overhead sound pretty darn well when turned up. Works well with youtube tv, disney +, netflix, hbo max, hulu, espn + apps on google tv / chromecast. Bad: some connection issues at times w rear speaker but not often. Few apps (Univision now) have bad sound for sports/soccer matches but the 5.1 on movies/tv shows on the app sound great idk y not many tho (its probably a app or broadcasting issue i think). Over all definitely happy with it, totally worth the money. Fyi: the Green dot means Dolby Atmos is working properly when watching Atmos content. if getting a purple dot, just restart the system. Happened when 1st set up system, hasnt happened since.
