Couldn't be happier with this tv. Heard a lot of complaints about the cast feature with the tablet. Personally, I think it's brilliant. Easy to use, and easy setup. I love how you can get real time info about the tv like resolution and wether or not HDR is activated. Picture quality is incredible. I use to own a very expensive LG last year and this vizio destroys it. Besides OLED, thetrs nothing like a fully backlit tv. Don't even bother with expensive edge lit tvs. You can't find a better tv with future proof technology for the price. Of you want with samsung, LG, Sony, etc, you would be paying $1000 more. Don't hesitate, get this tv. You will not be disappointed

So I want to start off saying this TV is well worth the price for performance in regards to TVs. The primary reason I got this TV was because I watch a lot of movies with the family in the evenings. After a few days of using it I can say I have only used the tablet about three times (to try to feature of turning on the TV with the tablet, to change picture settings, and to stream YouTube). The first one was awesome at first and then it was just became boring because there were too many steps (have been using the basic remote since then, one simple press of the on button and I am good to go instead of turning on tablet, opening up app, wait for it to sync, then press on). The second I can see how Vizio is pushing on having full control of the picture quality by giving us a large number of settings to change, but tablet is not very responsive to my fingers for some reason. I repeatedly found myself tapping more then once just to increase or decrease the sharpness. Sliding the pointer doesn't work for some reason. The third, I stopped casting YouTube after the third time when the screen just stayed black. I was worried something happened to my TV because I didn't see anything on the screen but the audio was playing. I could raise the volume but nothing should up on the screen of what volume level I was at or any info on the top that gives you details of the video being cast. The only way I found to go back to normal (I disconnected from casting and the TV still stayed black) was to turn off the TV completely and then turn it back on. I can say that I feel the reliability of the googlecast is not quite there which is were my expectations were not met. I will be using my blu ray player to watch YouTube if I need it, like I said I will be primarily using it for watching movies. In that regard it was better than I hoped. Really nice black levels and very cool bright levels. There is so much customization available I want to do research and get as close to OLED sharpness and contrast as possible. I heard this was a good TV for gaming. I will be hooking up my PS4 later when spring break begins and see how that is, you have to connect it to HDMI 5 I believe but no HDR gaming will be available from that port. If you want HDR you have to use 1 -4.

I am very satisfied with my Vizio P series 55 inch TV. The initial set up was very easy, the sound quality is good, image is outstanding. The colors are very accurate and the black scenes are very dark. On a bright room It looks good but on a dark room is where this TV really shines. I am not gamer, so I can't provide any input in that area. At first I was skeptical about the metallic finish bezel but turn out to be one of my favorites things about this TV, its blend perfect on my decor and gives the TV a premium feel. The included tablet is super nice, even though its very thin and fragile. The tablet concept works perfect for me (may be not for everyone), I use the small remote sporadicly. Overall I recommend this TV, I am very happy so far.

This is my second 4k tv, and it has everything you could want for the price. It actually does compare with TV sets doube the price. Awesome. HDR 10, 4k, all 5 HDMI inputs do 2160p. Very happy

I spent a lot of time reading reviews and comparing opinions. I actually visited Best Buy four times before actually buying - and that was my main issue. Why, if you were really trying to sell a TV would you mount it so high up that there is no way of seeing the screen without filling it with the reflection of your ceiling lights? I also bought a Vizio Sound Bar, and again there was an issue because there were tremendous sibilants (the ssss sound of the snake in Harry Potter) and nobody in the store could say or do anything about it but say "I never noticed that before, but you're right!". When I found the same problem on a Bose unit, I decided that it was a function of the store not the unit. So, back home to do more research, and yes, you can adjust the treble setting from the Vizio tablet. So, finally, bought it and am thrilled. It is everything that I want and need. With 4 HDMI inputs in use I still have a spare. Awesome!

I'm very happy with this Vizio P Series TV. The picture is incredible. I also bought the Vizio soundbar to go with it, and the sound is perfect. The only slightly negative thing to say is that I had some challenges getting the integrated Google Cast set-up. Probably user error, but even so, it wasn't intuitive how to get it corrected.

I took advantage of the $100 off sale. I had two concerns when researching this TV. First, while the tablet/Smartcast idea sounded cool, I was worried that it was just a novelty and questioned the reliability of it. So far so good. The tablet has worked perfectly and is a convenient way to check email, social media, and everything else I would normally do on my phone. Secondly, I was concerned about the black levels since this was the IPS panel (and not a VA panel). On my older Vizio, the black colors are not black, but more dark grey and it drove me crazy. But, again, no worries here. The picture, including the darker colors, look great!

The picture is amazing and I love the look of the tv. Very clean appearance and decent sound for a flat panel. I do not like the cast feature as much as my AppleTV or TiVo. The only reason I use it is for the 4K and HDR capability. The tight integration with Google creeps me out. As does the automatically on tracking software. That kind of stuff should be off by default, not on by default.

This has a beautiful display. My only hesitation was the reduced contrast compared to other models but I found one on display in a Best Buy and the contrast was not noticeably different than nearby sets. The unit was on sale, plus as I was looking at it a salesman offered another $50 off. Once I got it home I tweaked the display settings per information found on the internet, but I think the preset modes looked good anyway. The included small tablet is a nifty bonus, though at first the Visiocast function didn't work. However, later it began to work, probably after the TV and the tablet did some automatic updating. Plus my laptop picked up on the Visiocast ability, probably because I use the Chrome browser and Visiocast is actually Chromecast. Anyway the whole setup works beautifully and I cast Hulu, Youtube and other things to it. We did buy a cheapo $75 Visio sound bar which works great with it.

The P Series is the New Benchmark for Quality

We waited quite a while to post any feedback about this monitor. It replaced an 11-year-old 50" Industrial Quality Mitsu unit that maxed out the dimensions of a motorized plasma lift cabinet. We purchased and returned a 55" TCL and Vizio M series prior to purchasing this P series Monitor. Both units were superior with 4K or UHD content, but performed poorly and unable to upscale Cable or Sat transmission in typical HD broadcast. This is one of the few monitors at its price point featuring component video inputs (YPbPr). This enables us to use our flagship Yamaha RX-V1 receiver that would have been obsolete ONLY due its lack of HDMI inputs. This P55 is used for a home theater monitor. The integrated speakers aren’t used. The P55's optical output allows digital audio from an HDMI cable to bypass from the monitor to the Home Theater Receiver. We have an uncommon 80g PS3 that’s backward compatible for PS, PS2 & PS3 discs. It's ideal for Blu-ray/DVD/Gaming or any of the PS3 digital streaming services into the P55-C1 and RX-V1 simultaneously. The P55-C1 will seamlessly migrate digital audio from the PS3 HDMI input and pass it from the back of the monitor via an optical/Toslink cable into the Yamaha RX-V1. A minor drawback of the Vizio P series vs. the M series is that the edges of the panel are silver. The M has black edges. It’s distracting against our dark background. The P series does have a larger and easier to see, white LED power indicator. The M series has a smaller red LED power indicator with a narrow viewing angle. The P55 also uses a 300 VESA mount vs. the identically sized 400 VESA mount on the M55 monitor. It’s an odd size for such a large monitor. We had to purchase a 300 to 400 adapter bracket to mount it on the plasma lift bracket. Only the P series offers an IPS panel only on its 55” monitor. All others sizes are VA panels. A perfect fit for our room that has a sectional with wide viewing angles. This means no pinky purple or yellow hues when viewing at an angle. A VA panel would of lost contrast for viewers at the sides. In a rare broadcast moment, the Rio Olympics broadcast 4K/UHD the first day of purchase. Stunning is the best description possible when viewing broadcasts in 4K. Exceptionally GOOD quality is available in cable/Sat subscription service. Ignore any feedback about the downside of the 55’s IPS monitor. With the VA panel, you’ll get a better color POP, viewing angle, it runs much cooler to lower energy and increase longevity. Lastly, and most importantly, the VA panel does not produce the “pinkish” whites and “washed out” look the inherent to a VA panel. Until it’s tested, I can say that the contrast ratio on the Vizio IPS panels appear to have deeper blacks and richer whites than the VA panels. On a sad note, our P55-C1 dramatically dropped its ability to show crisp whites and the color range dropped dramatically after only 19 days. Luckily, I called Vizio first. They have a 90-day free replacement warranty. After receiving some of the best and worst customer service ever, they came through, delivered a NEW in BOX display to the house, and picked up the old one. I still have the BB 5 year (Geek Squad) plan to cover us after that.

This is my first Vizio TV, and so far, it has been great. I love the picture. It has great deep blacks, color was great with hardly any adjustments. This tv might not be the best for bright rooms, as there can be a lot of glare. The cast feature is kinda cool, and having the tablet control the tv is a fun feature too, but, for the most part, i just use my logitech universal remote to control everything. The tablet seems a bit of a gimmick. It does not have the most intuitive interface, and i feel a bit limited on the cast features.

Buying a 4K TV does not automatically improve your TV resolution without a 4K source. This TV does great with upscaling and the normal 1080p picture is phenomenal. I love the tablet feature and the screen casting works as intended. My only issue with this TV is that over the last week my TV picture has been cutting out. I thought it was my cable box but after I switched boxes it still did it. Now when I switch inputs sometimes the others will not display. I have not run firmware update yet, as this is my next option.

the picture quality is fine, I wasn't impressed with the remote situation being a tablet. It completely made me hate the tv. Some would think it's great others like me, not so much! The sound was better than the Samsung. But I just couldn't get past the remote.

So in upgraded from a 2015 M60 C3 to the 2016 P55 C1 and wow what a difference! I had read people saying this set won't be all that great due to the IPS display, let me tell you they are wrong, it's stunning and with HDR it looks amazing. I've been reading up on the TVs (err Displays) quite a lot recently. It turns out that Vizio is making one of the best displays around. My choices had ended up between the X850D, KS8000, and Vizio P-Series, but when the 55" P55-C1 went on sale, I knew it was the time to jump on it. If you're interested to know from a technical perspective the P-Series includes something that I believe sets it far apart from other sets I mentioned. The Vizio has FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) so if you don't know, LCD panels to be visible need light to shine through them, this is done by the backlight. In the KS8000 or X850D this is done by edge lighting, line the edge of the TV and shine it through, the Vizio however has LEDs lining all behind the screen. So what this means is that the LEDs in an area can be shut off giving you richer blacks, or brighter areas of the screen as well. Okay so another few things this set has: Wide Color Gamut, 10-bit panel, Dolby Vision and HDR10, 120hz native refresh rate, 6" Tablet that is the remote SO all of that to say, man this TV looks great! It doesn't get as bright as the Samsung, but it still looks really good. So far we've watched a Dolby Vision movie from VUDU, DirecTV, and Netflix, all have looked great! I have read the speakers are weak, but we've had it hooked up to a Polk soundbar so I cannot comment. Our panel is defect free, and setup was super easy! A few quirks we've noticed: SmartCast is great, but ensure you kill the VUDU app (on the tablet), sometimes it steals focus of the set, also make sure you set the app to cast prior to playing content, or else Netflix will think you want to play on the tablet thus limiting you to the 1080p resolution it has and not the 4K of the display. I'd highly recommend this set, HDR is the next thing, 1080p->2160p (4K/UHD) was big, but HDR is huge! The improvement is stark, but it is a NEW standard, some of the things in the works this TV (well most on the market) don't do: 1000 nits brightness, 12-bit panels, etc. However, if you're looking to buy a 4K TV, I suggest you look here as you'll get one that, going forward, will work with the content and display it to better accuracy than say the 800 dollar set you may be considering.

Great tv especially for the price!!! Note that it is a "display" not a "tv"...all is really means it that you can't get free over the air local channels without a tuner(which you can get for $20-30). Once again, great deal especially considering you get 4K and HDR-10!!!
