The Black Levels are GREAT...Even on the 55"!

I researched TV's for a long time trying to find a GREAT TV with perfect blacks and no light bleeds. (My LG tv was annoying me with this). Hesitant for "Vizio" Brand at first. Then ok good reviews…Then Hesitant that the 55 inch was NOT VA panels….Then Hesitant that the 50 inch was only 60Hz. Watching movies in a dark room is what I manly do so I was very picky with what TV To get. The Sony, or Samsung in the same 1,000-1,500 dollar price range? Similar features with the HDR and so on. However, the darks in the Vizio is what won me over. The 55” panel does not have any light bleeds and the contrast is AMAZING! The picture is absolutely Amazing! At first it didn’t have the HDR10 update and it was still unreal. Now that I can truly watch HDR content, I don’t want to watch TV on anything else!. Do yourself a favor and just buy it!

The TV is great and Phenomenal in the quality and what all it promised. Initial set up was little glitchy. but after i set the smartcast thing right it worked as promised. Its hard to narrate as a story so i would rather put my reviews in points. 1. The smartCast is only for 2016 Tvs. For one star reviewers : Do not blame the technology, the smartcast app is only for 2016 TVs.. But i can say this that the TV is definitely for the early adapters of technology. With SmartCast you are totally changing the perspective of human TV interaction. 2. I would not have bought if the price was 1300$ , 1100$ was just right for me to buy it for all what it has to offer and i feel like that is a reasonable price for a 2016 TV and a cool android chromblet.. 3. even though for someone who thinks the ease of app usage is not so great , i feel like, with over the air software updates it gets better. 4. i never used the dumb remote anymore after i brought this TV. Its cool to have a nice tablet as your remote. 5. I would recommend the TV with a caution : buy only if you want to try something new and is from future and adding to that if you are a cord cutter. else you might not love it with the new human TV interaction . 6.not thought through with the size of the remote. as more apps that had casting capability do not have their compatibility version for this screen size of the remote. 7. if the tv is based on chrome/Google cast Technology why limit the users with not have the capability of casting through a mac? ( i might have to find a hack for this) 8. As humans use or get addicted to a phone, there are two outcomes: they want the remote to be a phone to or they might want to have a break from using the phone and might want to just use the dumb remote. ( apparently Vizio thinks the users want option one) Overall I think this is where we should be heading with the TV Technology. all the Tvs come with the casting capability where the TVs have the hardware to connect any device in the house for at least casting content from those devices of course subjected to the casting capabilities of those apps/content. vizio took the first step. With the smart cast technology, I think vizio can now collect our viewing habits and may be give us more cheaper tvs in return.

Nice picture but the tv takes about 1 minute to show a picture when you first turn it on. Also it sporadically will blackout during programming. Called Vizio but no resolution. Will continue to call and get a get unit

VIZIO SmartCast displays may take up to a minute to fully power on so that you can see a picture. This is due to the fact that they share technologies similar to a computer. One solution to this is to turn on Quick Start Mode which doesn't shut down the Display but puts it in a Standby mode so that it turns on much faster. If the picture is sporadically blacking out during programming this could be an issue with the device connected to the display or with a cable that is going out. We recommend trying different cables to see if that resolves the issue. VIZIO

Purchased the 55 inch and it looked great. Brought it back the next day because it produced so much heat I thought it was defective. Turns out this is just a "feature" of Vizio TV's. I went with another brand and am very happy.

This is a bad buy and kick myself 4 the purchase. It handles 4k poorly and flickers a lot on anything animated with a large scene. It has no tv tuner, no component, and don't waste your money. Buy a better brand.

Thank you for your feedback. This display will display 4K content that is cast or through a connected device such as a UHD Blu-Ray player. This TV does have a component port on it but will not run off of a composite (yellow, red, and white) connection VIZIO

Value for Dollar, this is one of the best options on the market (any set in the Vizio P Series Line) in 2016 and 2017. Even though the P55-C1 has an IPS panel, the blacks are still great, due largely to the FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) setup on the set. Viewing angles are much better than the typical VA panel found in most other models. This set looks great and has all of the functionality one would need in a 4k HDR display. It even has a low latency gaming port (HDMI 5)! The only con is the tablet, which is largely underwhelming, but I understand why they include it. It's likely your phone or personal tablet is going to be much better suited to casting.
