So far I've had the tv for a few months and no problems. I can easily play games on it and fast paced sports look great on it. The tv has looked great with everything we've put on it!

I was able to get this TV on sale before the 2017 models hit the store. This was a perfect option to upgrade to since I was in the market for a TV and I wanted 4k. This model did receive an update for HDR support that you will need an active internet connection to download. HDR is High Dynamic Range for colors. The most drastically noticeable jump is with certain HDR compatible games. I tried it with Horizon Zero Dawn for the PS4. At first glance, it may appear to make the image look worse by muting the colors, but after hours of comparisons (I know, geek right?) I felt like HDR looks a lot better. It is supposed to imitate more accurate colors, so it made the game look less "cartoony." That being said, HDR is not for everyone, and this model did get a lower HDR score compared to other brands. However, the standard benchmark for HDR is new and not very accurate. Even "low scored" HDR typically looks better than "standard" color options in my opinion. But as a whole, there are some cons: 1) This is not a "true" Smart TV. It uses a tablet to control the downloading and using of apps, in-depth option adjustments, etc. I personally like it. I use modern game systems that have more features than most smart TVs so this didn't bother me. I also like that you can treat the tablet like a separate viewing device and it runs on the Android operating system. So for me, it was like getting a Kindle Fire HD bundled in. It has speakers and a headphone jack. There is also a barebones remote that I find myself using to power on the device and change inputs because it is quicker. 2) Vizio specific features. The active zones sound good in theory but they look like garbage (I don't even think the P series' 64+ zones would look that good either). Do yourself a favor and disable it. Which segues into my next point: 3) Not user-friendly. Read this carefully... if you have to have a family member set up your electronics for you, don't get this TV! Unless they are willing to set this up for you as well. To get the very most out of this product you WILL have to go in and tweak the picture settings, disable certain features, enable others, etc. A quick Google search led me to a site that gave a specs breakdown for optimizing your picture quality. It went more in-depth than I even cared, but after following it step-by-step my picture looks phenomenal. However, each person will have a different opinion of what looks good. I like my movies to replicate the darker tones of a movie theater but that doesn't look good for gaming. I have multiple picture profiles saved so I can switch to them easily. You can name your inputs, but BEWARE - there is currently no way to delete an input after you create it. The best I could do was just rename it BLANK and skip it as I cycle through my inputs. If you don't get anything else out of this lengthy review, remember this: This TV is one of the best for gaming in general and performs admirably with 4k and HDR content. There is a gaming mode option that when enabled reduces latency to a mere 18 milliseconds. Not many 4K TVs are that low, especially for under $1000. Latency is the delay between what is going on with your game VS what you see on your TV. On fast twitch reaction games like Call of Duty anything over 50ms and you will be at a disadvantage. It is not uncommon for a 4K TV to have a 150ms or more delay, making gaming disadvantages very noticeable. For perspective, there are 1000ms in a second. That makes all reactions 15% slower than they should be. Trust me, that's a big deal, and I don't even play Call of Duty. Overall, I use this as my main TV to play games, watch Blurays, stream shows like Game of Thrones, and I'm very happy with it. I even have my gaming PC hooked up to it and it's awesome! It's the right size for me, but you may want to go a size or two bigger because that's just awesome too!

Bought this item a a month or so ago. So far there is a to love and some issues as well. The price to quality ratio is very hard to beat. To get similar features and quality will require spending a lot more money. The set looks great. Nice clean design with a minimalist aesthetic. The stand legs are a nice accent and compliment the TV. The picture quality is great as well as the calibration. 4k content also looks good as well although your options are limited to what is available on the market. The make or break for this tv would have to be how much you enjoy integration with google. Chromecast support is a big feature on this tv with built-in support. If you aren't a fan of chrome cast and casting your videos to your TV then you might have to look elsewhere. The unit is also integrated very closely with a tablet remote. All major functions are on the tablet. It can be a chore sometimes to access those settings instead of using the "dummy" traditional remote. There is also some lag at times with the software from the tablet and casting as well. The connection will need to be re-established at times and the tablet can show lag. On the plus side you get a android tablet that can download apps/games.

The TV itself looks great. The remote occasionally loses the connection to the TV if you have multiple android devices trying to control it, but works fine otherwise. Occasionally needs to be restarted. The sound is pretty lacking but workable until I get my speakers hooked up. The built in chromecast that is capable of 4k is great except that amazon prime doesn't work with chromecast so the TV is not capable of streaming it simply.

Ok, it died 28 days after purchase. But I buy a lot of electronics and understand defects happen. Vizio took immediate action and scheduled for a new one to be delivered ASAP. Customer care (Vizio) located in South Dakota owned the situation like I've never experienced before. For the price there is nothing comparable. I'm an AV snob to be honest and I would have never given Vizio a chance. For this purchase, I wanted something under $1k with as much tech as possible. Dolby Vision, localized dimming, etc? Ok deal! I couldn't believe the blacks, color depth, & radiant whites this model produced. Slightly dim in the corners on a completely white screen but that rarely happens. Otherwise you'd never notice. Marco Polo on Netflix... holy snozberries!! On a streaming service no less... I'm impressed. In fact, for my next major monitor purchase, I'll give the P series a strong look. Best Buy though... that's a different story. Gone are the days of the old Magnolia HiFi (I'm from Seattle) where the customer was taken care of no matter how much you spent. I will never ever shop at Best Buy again due to how they treated a 28 day old DOA. Specifically the manager at the Fashion Valley location in San Diego. Yes I understand that my rewards level wasn't maintained at the higher level over the past year thus giving me a 15 day exchange period vs the 30 you get with the higher level but dang... it was 28 days! There's some store level descresion according to corporate customer care but this manager stuck to strict guidelines and wouldn't take care of me. Vizio again... yes! Best Buy again... heck no! I'll buy elsewhere. But I'm just one customer. What do they care.

The Chromecast tablet remote is nice but you need some time with it to learn how to use it . I'm running a HTPC to use as my tuner .... not 4K but still nice pix.

As usual, Vizio makes a great product and this 4k tv is no exception. Clear, bright picture and easy to set up. Only misgiving is the tablet-style remote control. Other than using Vcast feature, the remote is practically useless for me. I have FIOS, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and Vizio sound bar, all connected together. I use a Digitech Harmony remote controller to manage everything.

I love the TV and the quality of the picture, it is also very easy to set-up and it connects to WiFi and apps with minimal delay or wait. My only complaint is that you are limited to which apps you can use directly through the TV, most apps that I use need to be downloaded on the tablet remote (or your smart phone) and casted to the TV.

This is a pretty great panel for the price. I am coming from a 7 year old Bravia, and this is a noticeable upgrade. It upscales 1080p quite well, it does HDR, but it isn't a wide color gamut panel, so you won't get the full effect of the HDR, but it is better. Still, for the price, I can't complain. 4K Netflix looks great, the built in Chromecast is much better than the built in slow apps that many TVs have. The tablet remote is also much better than using a traditional remote for calibrating a TV. If you are gamer the input latency is also pretty good. Very satisfied with the purchase, would buy it again,

I was told to shy away from Vizio's E-class TVs if I wanted a true 4K picture with HDR, which is why I started doing my research on their new 2016 M-class TVs. First off, to clarify my previous statement, this is actually NOT a TV. They call it a home theater display for a reason, because it technically does not have a TV tuner. I'm more of a cable-cutter (I use Hulu, Netflix, HBO, and Sling TV to watch shows) so this was not a big deal to me at all. The picture is outstanding. When I was reading reviews, lots of tech terms were thrown around like "motion blur" and "refresh rate", which I still don't full understand. What I can say is that the true 4K content I can find (which is limited right now) looks crystal clear. I do wish the TV had more LED dimming zones, just so the blacks would be a bit deeper, but overall I am very satisfied with the picture. All of my friends and family come over and comment on how much they wish they would have waited to buy a 4K display because they would have bought this display. Sound: a ton of reviews I read before purchasing said the sound volume was too low. I did not experience that at all. I did experience some sound distortion at higher volumes, but that was expected coming from a display. I ended up buying a soundbar surround system because I like listening to movies/music loudly, but you definitely don't need to supplement the display's speakers (unless you're an audiophile). The SmartCast feature is okay... And I really mean just OK. At first, I really liked that you controlled the display with the tablet and could stream content to the tablet and then "cast" to the display. It was new and shiny and novel... That wore off quickly. The tablet would sometimes randomly drop WiFi connectivity, which is odd because none of my other devices do that. So shows and movies would buffer for a while and I would play with the tablet to get them going again. Also, the SmartCast/GoogleCast ability is somewhat limited -- so if you like streaming Amazon Video, that is not going to work here. This is not a SmartTV - no built in apps! I eventually broke down and bought an AppleTV and I am satisfied with that (plus, the 4K content looks a bit better with a direct connection to the display rather than a wireless connection). Overall, this was a great purchase and I even found it for $100 off at Best Buy during a weekend sale, which brought the purchase price with tax to just below $1000. I highly recommend this 4K home theater display to anyone who wants an HDR experience but isn't willing to hand over their entire bank account.

Because I plan on having this TV for the next several years (my last Vizio is over 10 years old and still works like new), I decided to splurge and buy the M series instead of the less expensive E series, and I jumped up one size just for good measure. I absolutely do not regret my decision. The image is beautiful and crystal clear, the sound quality is very good and certainly loud enough for my living room, and the whole display looks great. I primarily use this connected to my computer or an older Blu-ray player (no 4K upscaling), so I haven't been able to truly experience 4K yet, but even at 1080p it looks fantastic. It comes with a 7" Android tablet that can be used both independently and as the remote control, but also for screen casting from virtually any internet site or device app, and works quite well. You can also cast from other Android, Apple, and Windows 10 devices (I haven't used an Apple device with it yet). Built-in WiFi 2.4 & 5GHz connects well. The standard remote (in addition to the included Android device) has only the most basic controls and is quite small, but provides for the most often used functions. The initial online setup is fairly simple but a bit time consuming.

The VIZIO 4K Ultra HD home Theater Display with HDR is an amazing product with even more amazing features. It come with Android tablet remote that can be used as a tablet and as the remote at the same time. Me and my wife can both watch our shows either live TV, Netflix, Hulu or what ever in the living room at the same time on the tv itself and the tablet. But if we choose to watch a show together it's as easy as pressing the chromecast button on the Android tablet remote and it jumps from the Androd screen to the amazing 55 inch VIZIO 4K ultra display

This is my first big screen TV and I actually have always liked Vizio. So I read reviews and ratings and did a fair amount of time looking, shopping. I was on a budget so I ultimately choose this one!! I love it, it's a great product and the picture is really good too me. I recommend it for a first time buyer who wants a 55 in TV and doest have a ton of money to spend! I wanted HDR and it has HDR10 on the first input with the initial update for the TV and Dolby Vision on the other inputs.

I've purchased Vizio TVs exclusively for the last 10 years or more. I continue to be impressed with the consistent quality, reliability, & value provided by Vizio. This TV is no exception. Picture quality is outstanding, & the built-in Chromecast is very convenient. For any cable cutters out there, this is the perfect TV for you. For those but still have cable or antenna, keep in mind that there is no coaxial input. I wish there was more 4D content available, but that's not Vizio's fault.

For the price and the quality you cannot bet this 4K TV. The tablet remote really elevates this TV, it is quite user friendly once you get the hang of it. I do think the CAST element needs tweaking as it gets "hung" quite a bit where you have to cut off the TV completely and allow it to reset.

The picture on the set that was on display in the store really sold us on this set. I am glad that we had the Geek Squad come and set it up. It would have been way to complicated for us to do on our own!! To me that is a major drawback! We also found out that the speakers point down, so to get the sound to a reasonable volume we had to purchase a separate sound bar, another drawback. Overall I like the set but not sure I would recommend it to a friend.

The TV is clear, big and easy to set up. The android tablet proved to be too much for my parents who prefer the smaller remote. I enjoy how easy it is to sync Netflix to the TV, but I do this with my phone so the tablet was unnecessary. Would prefer $200 off the price and no tablet.
