Piece of junk does not work- I’m two days beyond the returnable period. To the trash bin it goes. Let me say it again - Junk-.(It actually came from BestBuy via “special order” without instructions and kinda torn package ) next time - I’ll follow my gut and reject this kind of gray packages from Best Buy.

The price was ok. As for the charger, it doesn't charge my doorbell. I have to unmount it and charge it via USB. They say it is for the generation Ring that I purchased but it didn't fit. I had to drill new holes to install the doorbell. Which wasn't that big of a deal except then I couldn't return it. I thought it wasn't plugged in properly but I checked everything and it was. It has full sun for 6+ hours everyday so it isn't that issue either. I have my settings on limited battery use as well. I would not recommend this charger!

Great sun coverage where it is located and it does not charge the battery, somehow the battery actually drains faster. Save your money and look for another option. I ended up buying a plug and painting the cord to match the house where it runs down the wall. Side note, it is solid, very well built and supports the door bell on the wall better than the stock plates, but it doesn’t do it’s job of charging.

To be honest this device really doesn't do much of anything to recharge my battery. But in all fairness I don't think it is the device, I think I just don't get enough actual sunlight for it to absorb. My house faces the North, and the overhang shades it more than I thought it would. I may have to find a different type of solar charger. I think the device is well designed, just not for my situation.

Will not charge a half dead or below battery. You must begin with a full charge in order for it to keep up. Aside from that it works...Mostly. I had to drill 4 new holes in it in order to mount my ring cameras in it. Its made perfect for 1 type of Ring, Not mine. Fair enough, I drilled new new holes in it. Now it fits fine. If you're not mechanically inclined Pass on it.

I purchased 2. One for my moms house and 1 for mom, neither charge our rings. Total trash

In theory, this would be a great product. To eliminate the need to take the battery out and charge it. It doesn’t charge fast enough or strong enough to over power the every day battery use. To be fair, it takes a lot longer for the battery to die. But I’m still having to charge the battery in the house. Not worth the money.

My ring 2 was not easy to install to this charger. The existing holes did not line up, so I had to drill new holes. Next, my ring face plate does not pop off, it is secured by at least a dozen small screws which do not match up with threaded holes on charger. I had to install ring bracket to charger, the install ring to the bracket, however, only 1 screw would line up. Not ideal, but fortunately worked out to be tight and secure. It shows hardwired in health status and 100% battery today. Hopefully this continues to charge this well.

These are so so chargers. They need almost full sun to work satisfactorily. Don't expect them to keep your doorbell fully charged. They will prolong your batteries lives. Eliminate constant changes. But they will still need to be charged occasionally

It's a very small surface area to provide great charging capabilities. It basically needs to be directly facing the sun all the time to extend the time between battery charging. If you have it facing the sun, the camera will sometimes act a bit strange and not record when it's supposed to. At its peak (the first one or two months after I bought it), the solar panel would add about 1 to 2% to the battery per day and then it basically stopped working completely. It's still connected (sometimes the Ring camera doesn't detect it), but I've gone back to charging the battery at the same interval as before.

If you have direct sunlight you're good. If not, don't bother getting it.

it is a good product but it didn't fit my ring so I had to return it but it would have worked well if it had served its purpose

I have very good morning son in a vacation home where I put this up. I did start with a full 100% charged battery. After 2 weeks it's down to the 85% range. I guess I will see how long a full charge lasts.

Did not operate to my satisfaction. Software did not match up to Ring operating system, or at least it did not appear to, I had a hard time figuring out if it was operating properly.

Worst purchase. It does not work. I still have to charge my battery and the unit get all the sun. I would not recommend this product.

wont charge. I dont have mine DIRECTLY IN THE SUN ,but it is in bright light outside . No charge

I like the idea of not to have to take down door ell and charge it. It gave me a problem though once when it got very cold and i had to take it down and recharge but it’s been fine now for a while.

Works well and shipped fast. Ring app; however, does not recognize it as being installed but it still works.

Good addition to ring bell. It is a little large and must put where light is available.

Status shows that solar is established but the battery level still has been dropping about 5% per day. I know that location is good for solar since I had the Original Ring Doorbell with that solar charger mounted in the same area and did not have any issues with charging. Don't know how to return it or if they'll take it back.
