Easy install, replaced my old disposal with this..

This Waste King Disposer was a cinch to install. Once I removed the old unit it was installed in twenty minutes. The fact that it came with a power cord already installed was nice. However, this unit is the Legend 3 Bolt Mount and not the EZ Mount. The noise level is quite acceptable, especially for a disposer in this price range. The grind chamber is made of glass fiber reinforced polyester instead of ABS plastic.

The garbage disposer works great and not too loud.

After I purchased this, I realized that this requires an outlet. Had to return it.

I purchased this item from Best buy.com. When it arrived the box was opened. Once I opened the package the disposal was completely broken. Bestbuy.com's customer service was horrible. To this day still haven't received feedback from them.

We purchased the 1/2 HP model to replace a 15-20 year old 1HP unit. It's almost 1/2 the size, and the design of the unit is fundamentally different from older units. I did some research before we bought the Waste King. The rotational speed is faster, it doesn't auto-reverse each time it's switched, and it doesn't have a reset or 'key' to unjam the unit. The manufacturer notes that these features are unnecessary, and after using it for two weeks, I agree. Also, I would get the easy mount model if I were getting another disposal. We purchased the traditional screw mount model, which installed fine, but the easy mount would be easier. Features: 1. very quiet, won't wake anyone, or bother people watching TV 2. Did I mention just how quiet this is? I can talk on the phone with my head in the sink and have a conversation... 2. processes garbage at least as good as the previous unit 3. dishwasher operation quieter (drain passes through disposal) Cons: The *only* possible downside is that the sink drains slower than with the previous disposal, but this is probably required for the quiet operation, and a good trade off in our opinion.

I just bought it today and installed the new disposal in about 30 minutes. Practically anyone can do it. What took me an additional 30 minutes was cutting up some new pipes to attach to the disposal. Installation was really easy. Just took out the piping, old flange, clean, install new flange, install disposal, attach new piping, and plug in. That easy. Only time will tell if it's reliable but the warranty is quite long (Lifetime corrosion and Five year in home service). What might make this installation hard for people is removing the old flange (depending on how old your sink is), pipe work, or electrical. Piping was the most time consuming part because of the "unique" design of the piping which required me to fab up some new ones. Electrical work might need to be done if you do not have a switch outlet for the disposal (this will be the most difficult if you do not have one already). These problems are not dependant on the disposal itself and just has to do with your setup Referring to the other reviewer, maybe yours was defective (?) but I had no issues when installing. Fit was perfect. The Easy Install flange that they provide has to be taken apart, which is easy. If you don't, there is no way you are going to fit it through the hole of your sink

This product was easy to install. Watched the online YouTube video that helped a lot - my first disposal installation and it went fairly well. Only thing was they included two different rubber thingies that cover the moving parts, but I didn't know you could change them out until I'd already installed the disposal. I didn't want to take it back out again to switch to the one that allows the water to drain from the sink more easily. Slow draining of sink is because the rubber is still new and stiff. Just push one of the rubber "pie slices" down and the water drains quickly (when it's not running OF COURSE!!). Now that it's been used for a month or so, it's starting to loosen up and the water drains on its own for the most part. Disposal works well so far, although I haven't really given it a challenge. Wonderful product for a VERY reasonable price.

We have had this disposal for about six weeks. It was very easy to put in using enclosed instructions, runs fairly quiet and works great. The price was better than the local hardware store.

I bought one of these at a Best Buy in Orange Park, FL in January of 2011 and installed it the same day. Total install time was less than one hour and most of that time was trying to get my existing, corroded, 25 year old disposal unseated from its sink flange. I wanted to keep my existing 3-bolt mount sink flange because inside the sink it is stainless steel and in perfect condition, even after 25 years. This disposal allowed me to do that. Note: the sink flange included with this disposal is chromed. To use an older 3-bolt mount sink flange with this unit you must remove the included and installed mount ring and default splash guard and replace the splash guard with an included, more "standard" splash guard. You'll install your existing flange nut into the new disposers shaft prior to installing the alternate splash guard. The included instructions make no mention of this procedure, but a few minutes of looking over the parts and thinking about things made it clear and easy. If your existing disposal's electrical is hard-wired, like mine was, you'll want to purchase a 15 Amp Rubber Grounding Plug to plug the new disposal into. I got one from Lowes for less than $10. The unit has only been installed 30 minutes or so, but so far so good...

Having recently installed a new bathroom sink, I felt emboldened to replace my suddenly leaky garbage disposal. Three words of wisdom from a novice to other novices: 1) Be sure to have all the tools recommended in the instructions, just in case, 2) Watch a few youtube videos on disposal removal/installation just to get a glimpse of what you'll see down there, and 3) Even if you're not a person who reads the insctructions, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! The directions are VERY straightforward and will help you know what's coming. All total, this removal/install took me 2 1/2 to 3 hours (truly, I'm NOT handy) on this Saturday morning and now I'm waiting for the sealant to dry on the new sink tray so I can give it the full water/food test. If you have an existing power source, you'll need to remove the plug in that comes attached to the unit (the wires are well soldered, so be ready with wire cutters/scissors and gently punch out the rubber cord holder). The only change I'd make is to leave the power cord as an accesory, and that only for the convenience of my situation.. The new unit is as "noisy" as my old unit, and that was and is acceptable, so no complaints there.

I purchased this product because my current insinkerator bit the farm and new ones had terrible reviews. I purchased this item because it had good reviews. Got it home home and found it to be extremely cheaply constructed. The entire housing is plastic and it's louder than my insinkeretor which was 10 years old. The way this unit mounts doesn't follow the industry standard and is a pain in the butt and the directions aren't clear. I've installed many disposals and this one is cheap and a pain. The EZ mount system is a joke and just plain cheap. That said, it works as advertised and seems to destroy anything I throw down it. Wouldn't buy another simply for the way it mounts and cheap construction. Time will tell if it holds up. I would not recommend this product. Spend the extra money on something else.

It took me longer to uninstall the 3 bolt system that I was replacing. System install was a breeze, anyone can do it. Dont forget to punch out the piece of plastic for the return dishwasher water.

I purchased and installed this Waste King disposer to replace the original one installed in my house over 25 years ago. Removal of the old one and initial install was a breeze. It took me slightly longer to complete the installation because I installed a GFCI outlet under the sink and the exit tube did not line up with my current plumbing. A quick trip to Lowes for an adaptor was all that was needed to complete. The new unit is very quiet and takes up less room under the sink then the old one. A doubt this one will last another 20+ years but should I have to replace it, I'll buy another.
