One of my favorite shows. The last couple episodes are some of the greatest television I’ve seen. Give it a watch. Please :}

Not so easy to describe this one. The opening 10 minutes are true to the history of what is known as 'the Tulsa, Oklahoma race massacre of 1921. The series is set, however, in 2019. It's a well scripted, very well thought out drama....thought provoking and very much still 'in the now of 2020' though the show aired on HBO in 2019. Arguably not for all tastes judging by viewer polls, however, this writer agrees with the professional film critics on this one. You don't have to watch or like every 5 star show, but can't under estimate this one. Pre-Ordered 2 copies from Best Buy which came in A+ Condition.

The original Watchmen mini series was a ground breaking work of comic art that Zack Snider did, in my opinion, a great interpretation of for the big screen with just a few changes to the original story. The Watchmen series from HBO is an excellent stand on it's own story that totally picks up on the mood and flavor of the original series while creating new characters that could easily have fit into the original graphic novel. On top of it all the series tells a story rooted in the racial inequities that have plagued this country from it's inception. It makes you think and the performances and reinterpretations of some of the original characters are all done so well I think even Alan Moore would approve. Well, maybe not but the best thing I can say about this series is that it feels like an Alan Moore story.

I didn't love this show, something about it didn't connect to me the way I'd hoped...HOWEVER, I could recognize its importance and its craft. Its informing me of a brutal element of US history never taught in school, its genius in crafting intrigue and world building as commentary and brilliant "what-ifs" about the world today. I see what this show has to offer, and I appreciate many of its elements. So even though I didn't connect the way I would've hoped, I still think it's worth owning, analyzing, and appreciating by anyone who enjoyed the original graphic novel, film, or any of the current slate of superhero shows and films. Also, basic but acceptable packaging, this product was easily worth the $10 cost during the Black Friday sale.

The Watchmen Limited Series from HBO is a sequel to the landmark Watchmen comic series.Ironically this show hit just as DC was finishing their own comic sequel to Watchmen called Doomsday Clock which brought those characters into the same universe as Superman & Batman.The show works better IMO.And it's very topical considering what's going on in the U.S. right now.The show tells a great self contain story with great acting and a lavish look that really pops on blu ray.Some great special features too.

HBO does it again with a fantastic adaptation/sequel to the graphic novel. I was so pleased that they kept the original source material relevant and the story didn't conflict with the original one. Like most shows you've got to stick with it for things to start making sense but once you really delve into the series it's a really well thought out story with plenty of twist, turns, and shocking moments.

Fantastic series. It does help if you knew a little bit, or at least the main events from the comics, and even if you watched the movie from 12 years ago, the tv show is made by different people, but your knowledge of the movie also helps amplify the experience. Looks great, and has pretty nice extras. Beware, it is definitely R-rated.

Watchmen takes the beloved Moore comic series and takes it in a new direction--kind of a sequel, kind of a re-imagining. The universe and tone fit right with the original books, though, and as a limited series (unrelated to the movie a decade earlier), it's a good potential starting place for future generations to get interested in the source material.

Excellent sequel (of sorts) miniseries although it (arguably) follows the original graphic novel miniseries more closely than the 2009 movie adaptation, so some referenced details will differ for those who are only familiar w/ that movie, but shouldn't be too jarring. Certainly worth owning if substantially discounted on sale (as usual)...

As a casual WATCHMEN fan (never read the comic, saw the movie, thought it was cool) I had no idea what to expect going into this limited series. Holy shucks, bro! Amazing... all around. From the direction to the screenplays to the cast... this series quickly became one of my favorites. Can't recommend this series enough.

With so much of our entertainment being infused with stories of racial injustice. Like the super hero genre, it can be ALOT LOL. But Watchman seamlessly blends the two. Where your engaged in the story, and not beaten over the head with the message. But rather process it through and excellent story. Plus Giant Alien Squid!

If you think this will be like the movie don’t !! This takes place years after the movie and a complete different format, it has characters from the movie but a totally different story line, had to watch it twice to figure it out, but I really did like it after I figured it out. If you liked the movie you should like the series.

Excellent blu-ray disc release of an excellent mini-series. I was surprised that this is effectively a sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen, set decades later. The entire cast is uniformly excellent and the plotting clever and tight-knit. The only disappointment is that there is no 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Release.

A fantastic series that pays homage to the original graphic novel while telling a (sometimes heartbreaking) brand new story. Great performances by every single cast member, as the series' multiple Emmy awards would lead you to believe.

It was all about Regina King for me..I usually watch all the DC shows and movies...i didn't really get into the movie that came out years ago..However when i heard Regina King was part of this project..I had to see it...I been a fan of her's since 227, Boyz n hood, and Poetic Justice...the show was amazing.

I watched this last year on HBO but I wanted the series on disc so I could loan it to my daughter who is away at college. Good story, well done and you even get a history lesson (the attack against African Americans in Tulsa in the 1920's? Had never heard a single word about that before).

A magnificent show that melds history with comic books. This gives it new life and brings a touch of realism to the genre. A very enjoyable watch that keeps you wanting more. The cast is superb and the directing on this is completely top-notch. A must-add TV series to anyone's collection.

As both a fan of the comic and movie, I was a little nervous when I heard that a sequel was being done without the original writers. After watching this, I felt that both the graphic novel and movie were respectfully concluded. The acting is amazing, as is the production value and special effects.

I have been a fan of Watchmen since the graphic novel. I even liked the Zach Snyder film version. This series is a continuation of that and it does not disappoint one bit! Lead by the amazing Regina King and a great emsemble, this is a MUST SEE!

With what’s going on in the world today, who’da thunk that a superhero series would be a great analogy for race relations? Also serving as a sequel to the seminal Watchmen comic book, Watchmen the series has a great story and great acting (Regina King FTW). Definitely worth the purchase!
