I bought this in the hopes a SSD would improve load times, the guy at the store was only moderately sure it would work. It was a 1 minute install, and after transferring a game to it, I saw greatly reduced load times, on par with a friend’s Xbox 1X and gig speed internet. Definitely recommend it for better gameplay!

Bought this for my extensive music collection for use in my car. Failed miserably. Use a standard 1 tb portable drive and worked fine. Both drives were formatted fat32 and used the same files. Works fine on the PC/Mac, but not in car.

It is good drive for the sale price that I got it at. Although it is not very fast (for an ssd) on transfer of data or backup. I was told that the usb/c is much faster but did not buy due to the higher price. So if you are in no big hurry for data transfer or backup this is good drive.

I thought this was a really good price for a nice 1TB SSD. Unfortunately, as soon as I plugged the drive into my Mac it created an unstable system that kept crashing. I tried every format advised and still, Crash, Crash, Crash. As part of the troubleshooting I found that WD had a known incompatibility with a Mac, but could be worked around with proper formatting. Nope, CCC. I even tried adding the drive to a WiFi router. A little better, but then it seemed to interfere with the Mac Time Machine, slowing the machine to a crawl and making even answering an e-mail wayyyyy to long. I have since removed the drive from the system and everything is now back to normal, no more crashes nor Time Machine interference. I don't know how this SSD drive may perform on a Windows machine, but it is just toxic when used on a Mac system. Unfortunately, by the time I finished all the troubleshooting, and the other normal things of life, like work, I was past the 15 day return period (Give me a Break!). So know the item is just sitting on a shelf gathering dust. The little 64G thumb drive that came "free" with the SSD seems to be working okay, but gosh $150 is a lot to pay for a 64GV USB flash drive. Buyer beware!

Started out working, but actually slower then my G Drive 1TB portable. Next it erased all the data I transferred over from my computer. I’m sticking with G Drive products, cost more but worth it as the data stays, even formatting to PC was super easy.
