Amazing for Gaming Backup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this for my Xbox One X and it works like a dream to store my additional games and saves! Well worth the purchase! Only warning, the cord is tethered to the drive and extremely short.

Device is unusable as secure storage for travel
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do yourself a favor and don't buy one if you care about your storage device being secured. THIS DEVICE HAS NO SECURITY AT ALL! This is a huge dissapointment from WD, a company I have come to trust until now. I have been using WD storage drives since 2010. I love the ability to password protect the drives I purchase from them. I opened the package on this one today in order to set it up for a secure backup and couldn't get the security software that comes with all WD drives to work. I updated the apps/software as instructed but still couldn't set a password to secure the drive. After contacting WD via phone I was told they would send me instructions for fixing the problem via email. Instead they sent me an email stating that their password security doesn't work on this drive. I am now stuck with a very expensive SSD drive custom designed "for travel" with NO ability to set even a basic password for data protection. After nearly ten years as a loyal WD customer, I am now done with all WD products. Best buy won't take returns on this item either. I don't blame Best Buy since the device was purchased in December with plans for use for travel in June. The device is also now opened so Best Buy can't be expected to eat the cost. I do hope Best Buy will note on their web page that this is not a securable device so they don't unwittingly support misleading advertising of this faulty product. This is a quote from the email WD sent me today. "I understand that you are facing issue while using the WD Security with My Passport Go SSD. I apologize for the incorrect information over the call. Please allow us to inform you that My Passport Go SSD is not compatible with WD Security application and will not work with this application. " They then told me to reply to the email with questions or to call the same number that gave me incorrect information before. I say again. DON'T Buy if you want the password protected security that previous WD storage devices came with. This device is not securable.

Smallest and lightest drive EVER!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I seriously couldn't believe how small and light this SSD was. It feels like they forgot to put the drive inside. With the cord conveniently attached and having its own groove to hold it in the back, this is most portable drive I have ever owned and I own close to 20 if not more. It comes with software for both Mac and Windows. I installed the Mac version but I don't think you need to, it just provides more options while using it. The 64 gb drive is a bonus but I am loving the small light form factor of the 1tb ssd. Super portable !! I would highly recommend.

Great for expanding storage on Xbox One X
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is really the best accessory you can buy for a Xbox One X. Not only do you double your storage capacity, but you will be wowed on how much faster games will load now. Its a startling difference. I already had a 4 TB WD Passport drive for my Xbox so I only install the games I play the most on the SSD. The USB cable is very short and does not detach from the hard drive so you basically have to sit it right on top on the console. And you will hear the console fan spin up a lot more often while reading from this drive but it is nothing to be concerned with.

Just plug it in and ready to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use two 1TB drives (one for file management and 1 for backup) by plugging them into a USB 3 hub. Access is fast (much faster than spinning drives) and the connection has never failed for a number of weeks now. I haven't used the 64GB thumb drives, but I plugged them both in and would work fine also. Two separate purchases that are problem free. They come with the WD Discovery SW app which I installed which lets one select more than these drives that also support security and backup features, but since I only use these within my protected home network, I haven't tried those features out.

Gud Stuff
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the physical size of this solid-state storage device as it is larger than a USB 'stick' and not easily lost. It is obviously light as it does not have a spinning disk, and the USB connector stows away nicely behind it and flush. The 500 GB size fits my needs and is a good value. I am buying several so I can save pictures in one, documents and other files in another, backup my laptop in yet another one. I wish it came in several colors so I can tell them apart, but it's just as easy to stick a label on it.

Great option for Xbox One X
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on sale and was unsure if I would keep it. I wound up using the thumbdrive to make a copy of Windows 10 to reinstall the OS on an internal SSD that went bad on my new Cyberpower PC. I then installed this WD SSD on my Xbox One X and I was surprised at the speed. It's not a significant speed increase but it is noticeable. I would recommend this if you want to boost your Xbox experience.

Passport to go bundle
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a external, portable, SSD drive and found it at Best Buy on special. It was during the self harbor in the house, but they had a delivery system that worked very well. I was able to drive up, tell them the order information and drove off with my SSD drive. So far so good. I was able to pull what I needed onto the drive without issues and carry it to where I need to go. Good product, good promotion, good seller.

Q: QuestionWhat versions of USB does it support, eg 3.0, 3.1, etc
Asked by Steve.
- A:Answer It works on my laptops 3.0 USB (the blue one) and also on the black one (2.0?) I'm not sure if it will work with others. The WD company tells me this drive can't be password protected. I'm advising anyone who needs to be able to password protect a storage device not to buy this one.

Q: QuestionWhat is the hard drive capacity of this
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It is a one terabyte solid state drive. One terabyte is equal to 1000 Gigabytes. And it isn't a hard drive. Hard Drives have moving parts, this has none, giving it much faster transfer speeds. After formatting, you will end up with something like 960 Gigabytes that can actually be used.
