What versions of USB does it support, eg 3.0, 3.1, etc null

It works on my laptops 3.0 USB (the blue one) and also on the black one (2.0?) I'm not sure if it will work with others. The WD company tells me this drive can't be password protected. I'm advising anyone who needs to be able to password protect a storage device not to buy this one.

My box says 3.0 and backward compatible with Windows 8.1 as well.

The drive has a 3.0 USB connector. With the correct adapter it could be used by USB 3.1
