    Solid drive. Good performer. Unsure why, but the performance isn't quite as strong as reported by reviews and some benchmarks. Still, it (on sale) is a solid bargain. I have always been a fan of WD hard drives. But I have tried a couple of different SSDs. So far, so good.

    This drive uses a 112-layer TLC NAND from Sandisk, which WD acquired in 2016, and a WD proprietary controller. It's blazing fast. Benchmarks on my i7-12700k and MSI MPG Z690 Edge WiFi DDR4 show that it's faster than my Samsung 980 Pro. I bought the 2TB model, which has a 1,200 TBW

    It is fast. To give you a reference point, It's somewhere between a snake and a mongoose… and a panther. Let's just put it this way, last weekend, it outran a black pepper snake.

    Nice and fast worked right out of the box with no problem. But if you’re a noob like me don’t forget to order a stand-off nut or screw set as this doesn’t come with any of that and you’ll need it for a desktop motherboard. Consider a universal kit for all motherboards they are cheap and will save you a headache.

    I installed this on my new hp omen 16 and used clonezilla to copy the original hard drive connected to a Sabrent USB adapter, and it works great so far. It seems at least as fast as the oem(crucial) ssd. All I needed to do was extend the volume with the help of Parted Magic.
