Really worth it if you game a lot and can’t store a lot of games. Really handy, no problems at all

I bought this at Best Buy 1 year ago and it is still fast and reliable. I built a new gaming computer with this drive and it is smoking fast. Faster than the bus on my MB probably. WD BLACK is worth the money.

If you are coming from a Gen3 NVME, this is ABSOLUTELY worth the upgrade. I wanted to start with that because it's what held me up for so long -- Gen3 is FAST, and I just spent the money a year or two back... Gen4 can't be THAT much faster. Except it really, actually, is. Nice boost overall in snappiness with Windows 11, didn't have much lag before but now there is definitely none. Load times for games is noticeably faster, maybe 20-30% perceptually. The other thing that I worried about was copying my existing drive over seamlessly. I used MiniTool Partition Wizard (I have a paid version) and was able to copy my Windows 11 drive to the new drive using a NVME USB-C adapter. Total time was about an hour to copy 500Gb. Turned off computer, swapped drives, turned it back on, boom. As if nothing had changed except everything is faster. This was one of the upgrades I wish I had made a year sooner

I caught this SSD on sale during the BestBuy Black Friday deals that were run before Black Friday. This was WELL worth the price. I was replacing a stock Samsung brand 500GB SSD drive inside an Alienware 17 R5 gaming laptop.
Unfortunately, I finally filled the drive up, and it was time to upgrade. The installation was easy, but I would suggest performing a fresh Windows install instead of using the Acronis Cloning software.
I'm a techy and have used Acronis since my college years. The older versions were great back in the Windows XP days, but these newer ones have always been a hit or miss for me. I encountered the problem of making the new SSD unseeable using the cloning software. The clone failed and after that it seemed to be chalked and couldn't be seen by my device. For some reason, it just bugged out, and I had to go a circumvented route and format with GParted.
Note, although I was also running Windows 11 for this install on the OEM SSD, my device isn't technically "rated" for Windows 11. I'm a Windows Insider Previewer so I tend to preview versions before they're released for consumer consumption. And though my device didn't meet Windows 11's cutoff according to Dell, 11 runs on it fine. I will eventually upgrade to a new machine but for now I'm trying to keep this device running till that time.
I went the route of installing Windows 10 and then upgrading to the Win 11 Developer version using my serial key. So far this thing has been screaming and I notice a difference in load times as well as heat production. I hear my fans having to spin up far less for cooling than with the previous SSD.

Simply put, I love these drives. I have four of the Western Digital Black SN850X drives in two different laptops and have yet to have a single issue with any of them. They are some of the fastest drives you can in the PCIe Gen 4 interface and so far, have been ultra reliable. Updating the firmware is extremely easy using the Dashboard app. I purchased Samsung 990 Pro only to find out it had a firmware issue causing the health of the drive to fail rapidly. I purchased my fourth WD Black SN850X to replace it. I'm only going for the WD Black drives from now on. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this.

My grandson was extremely happy with the performance of his upgraded computer. The geek squad was very helpful and very professional. I definitely would recommend Best Buy to anyone looking for quality products and professional advice.

Excellent performance and value for 3rd gen m.2. I installed this in my Razer Blade as an upgrade to the stock 1TB drive. Speed seems comparable, so much more storage!!
