    This was a task that was suggested to be handled by the Geek Squad but I found it quite easy after making a bootable flash drive from instruction on the Microsoft support site and checking the HP site to insure removal of the old hard drive was done correctly. Reloading Windows 10 with the bootable flash drive was simple, just follow the instructions as they appear on the monitor. No BIOS modifications or any complicated functions were required.

  • Make sure you have a drive bay that needs 3 screws

    This item has the traditional 3 screws on the side and bottom of the drive that many cases need in their drive bays. Make sure because some drives are coming with only 2 screws on the drive and dont fit bays that need the traditional 3 screw holes.

    Have 2 in each of the Vantech and Orico external enclosures set as Raid 1 (mirror ) to store music in our small hobby radio station Just remember they are not plug and play you must initialize and partition them And make sure the fans are working If they as any other drive can be damaged from excessive temperatures (Orico's are notorious for fan failures !) WDs are a old company they can be trusted .
