I purchased this same disk drive before, same manufacturer, model, capacity. Like the previous one, the new one was easy to install, just a data cable and power cable. If necessary, check the web to find out how your operating system can recognize this new disk.

I put it in my Pc and it runs perfect and gives me just enough storage. I mainly use it for school work though, if you want one for games, buy a more expensive storage card.

Definitely is helping me a lot! I was able to replace my old hard drive, because it got infected with a virus. Plus, I have more space than I did in my old one! I'm definitely going to make sure I don't get any viruses on this one!

I use internal harddrives for surround audio remastering. The program basically takes a 10GB stereo recording and processes it 4-6 times by splitting in 6 different soundtrack (5.1 surround recording). Now imagine what kind of an I/O load a harddrive has to sustain to write at a very high speed 6 such files simultaneously, non stop, for months. My previous internal harddrive worked fine until I started this hobby of mine. It gave up in a week. I went to best buy thinking I will have to spend at least $250, but instead bought this for $80 and even got %10 off with my Best Buy Member card. Amazing! This harddrive has already worked flawlessly for 3 months. Only when there is a lot of I/O at the same time I hear its whining, which is expected. I dont know how long it will last. If it will tolerate my high I/O abuse longer than a year I will be a happy camper.If it will give up sooner - no problem - I will just buy another one. $80 isn't going to make me poor!

Original harddrive went kablooey, replaced it with this one and yo my surprise my computer works like new.

The price was why I purchased this. Hard drives are pretty much the same in-store, if there was WD Black drives, I would've bought that.

It has enough space for all my files and it is very quit.
